Rantaros POV

For this operation to work, I would need to use not only my talent from season 52, but also 53.

I need the strength of an adventurer and the knowledge of a survivor.

The plan was simple, head to the storage room, get my supplies, and leave. Nothing that would require real effort.

The only obstacle are the guards. They may be asking what exactly I need them for. Answering honestly would ruin everything. Thankfully, I know that around 11:23 the two guards would leave to "have their moments". I caught them the other day, they're gay lovers. The security cam cuts off around then for ten minutes. If I'm fast enough, everything should go smoothly.

But for every plan, some unknown factor always pops up.

As I walked through the hallway towards the storage unit, I was met face to face with someone that I thought I really knew.

"Kaito? What are you doing here?" I asked Kaito who was blocking my way.

"..... What are you doing?" He asked me with a grim expression.

" I'm just going for a walk" I answered with a lie

Something was wrong with him. Kaito was looking sleep deprived, malnourished, angry, everything that could ruin someone's day

"Don't lie to me!" He said with hostility

" Woah woah! Calm down" I said to him. It was clearly ineffective

"Why do you lie Rantaro?! I thought you were better than that!" Kaito said to me

"Look Kaito, you need help. I just want to do my thing and go one with life! Just get out of my way!" I screamed at him

" DON'T ORDER ME AROUND!" He screamed at me throwing a pair of scissors near my head.

I dodges the scissors in the knick of time

" Kaito! What is wrong with you?!" I asked.

"TELL ME RANTARO! WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO HURT ME?" He asked me angrily

" Hurt you?! You almost killed me just now!" I responded

I didn't know what was wrong with Kaito. I don't even think I cared. I came out to do one thing, and he's getting in my way.

I had to take care of him one way or another
