Shuichi's POV

I can't believe who is in front of my eyes. I fell to my knees as I began to cry.

" Jeez, why are you crying," Maki said hugging me while crying as well.

" Yeah! I told you, real men don't cry!" Himiko said Embracing me.

" *sniff* shut up," I said hugging them. My family is okay... there really okay.

We hugged for what felt like ages. Until we finally let go.

" So *wipes tears* where were you Shu-Shu?" Maki asked with a serious tone.

" Where do you mean where was I? I walked almost all the way here?" I answered.

" Why though? When we woke up we didn't see you but your pod was opened?" Himiko questioned.

" Wait? How did you two get here?" I asked them.

" Simple, they were escorted," said a menacing voice.

We fearfully looked up to see Kazutaka Kodaka. They were visibly shaking as they feared for the worst.

" Take a seat.." He said in a menacing tone looking down at us with piercing eyes.

Us three were too scared to even move. " Now," he said.

We slowly sat in a desk like chairs in front of a large black desk.

Kodaka sat at the chair behind the desk and rested his face on his clasped knuckles.

" So... I believe you know why I called you in here.." he asked

The three of us remained silent.

" First, you destroy attempt to make a case impossible of solving to embarrass us, next, you destroy countless virtual structures, then, you skip to an epilogue with more than 3 of you left. You also decided when it was time to not vote, turn my creation against me, destroy my mastermind AND FINALLY end my series I spent years working on?" He stated

We didn't say anything. What could we say? He's right, we did do all of that. Will he kill us? Torture us? Put is back in the simulator for all of eternity?

"There is only one thing left I have to say..." he said rising out of his chair.

"This is it," I said bracing myself squeezing Maki and Himiko's hands.

He walked to the door and placed his hand on it.

" I love you Kaede!" I thought to myself.

He then whipped the door open with streamers and colourful papers flying out. In came employees holding a banner.

" CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING AND DEFEATING THE GAME!" The said.

" NANI????" We screamed shocked.

" THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Kodaka thanked hugging us.

" Wha-what?" I said.

" You three gave me the perfect epilogue for the series, I couldn't ask for a better one!" He said

" But- don't you hate us?" Himiko asked

" WHY OF COURSE NOT! YOU BROUGHT THE WORLD TO HARMONY AGAIN!" He said." You're heroes!"

He then blasted music.

I couldn't believe it, we're being thanked for this? Why?

" S-Sir, what do you men we brought the world to harmony?" I asked.

Kodaka stopped dancing and sat down in his chair once again.

" You ended fake hope," he said

" Fake hope?" Said Maki.

" As you remember. Tsumugi said that the world we live in is peaceful with no conflicts thanks to danganronpa" he said

" Yes," said Himiko asking for more

" Well, that is not true. It is fake. Fake hope" he explained

" So, that was just another lie then?" Maki asked

" Well yes but actually no. It is partially true. While our world may be without war, we still have conflict. Conflict divides people and turns them against one another. This world has been divided. Until two weeks ago when you brought it together" said Kodaka

" How exactly did we bring it together though?" Shuichi asked

" You gave the world a common enemy. A reason you could say" he said.

" A reason to work together? To stop what?" Himiko asked

" To stop despair. The two elements, hope and despair cannot both exist at once, but can also not last alone. The two are forever bound to each other such as we are bound to our bodies to be physical. So, fake hope is in a way hope. It lets people believe everything is fine. However, it is despair because that is not true. Everything is not fine." He said

" But it's not enough," he said
