@smoogirl11 promised to upload her story Only You for me and @xonceuponatimex gave me a one shot of Drax, the couple i ship from her harry potter fanfic Double Trouble, so i am uploading for them. XD

Time flew by and Adel was growing impatient. Every night he would interrogate Jesse and everyday he made him work harder. He made things he saw more sicking. He knew what Jesse was seeing was destroying, he saw it in his eyes and he had been where Jesse was at before. He wouldn't even flinch when Adel hit him or showed him his new job, which was throwing the bodies in the furnace. Adel was going to get information out of him, no matter what he had to do.

It was Jesse's third day without food or water. He threw another body in the fire. He was use to the smell, which terrified him, being use to the smell of death and burning flesh. He picked up another body and saw blackness. 

When he came to, he was in his dark room. Adel was sitting in a chair with a lantern beside him.

"Jesse, please tell me something, anything"

"Why, so you can kill me?" Jesse retorted, his voice raspy and dry from dehydration.

"No, I wouldn't. The others, I don't know"

"I'm not telling you anything!"

"Why! Not telling is slowly killing you. Just tell me and save your life. A country can't be worth your life"

"No but a cause is"

"This is a cause. Imperfect people are being taken out of the equation"

"You are killing innocent people"

"Innocent? Ha!"

"You disguist me, this place, what I see everyday, I would rather die than help you with what you are doing" Jesse spat

"You should be honored" Adel spat back. 

"Honored to kill human beings? Just because you dislike someone because of their religion, looks, beliefs, even sexuality, doesnt give you the right to murder them in cold blood"

Adel was at a loss for words. Deep down he knew Jesse was right but he wouldn't admit it. He was a German soldier. He pledged his allegance to Hitler. 

"I swear I'll do everything I can to get you out of here. All you have to do is tell me something, anything. I promise on my life"

Jesse saw in Adel's eyes that he was telling the truth. He knew he couldn't tell, or could he? Wouldn't he be betraying his country? He could tell a lie. If they found out he was lying, they'd kill him. Which meant he wouldn't have a chance to tell about what he saw and stop it.

"Promise me you'll come home?"

"I promise" 

Jesse cringed at the memory of the last conversation with Mary. 

"Adel, I don't know if I can"

"You know my name?"

"I over heard Otto, I think his name is, call you that"

"Yes, that's my name. I know you do not want to betray your country just as much I don't want to betray mine but I will be by getting you out of here"

Adel felt shivers run down his spine as his name came out of Jesse's mouth. He looked in Jesse's eyes and saw the hurt, pain, and numbness. The strongest pang of guilt he's ever felt hit him. He destroyed Jesse. He grabbed the water he on the ground and set it on the table in front of him. He wanted Jesse closer. 

Jesse jumped up and grabbed the water. It was gone in a second. More guilt hit Adel.

He met Jesse's eyes.

"You're crying" Jesse stated. 

"No" He snapped blinking away the tears. 

"They wanna get German soldiers as POW's and question them" Adel could've kissed Jesse.

"Thank you Jesse"

"Whatever. Can I go to sleep now?" Jesse snapped.

"I'll get you some more water and food first" 

When he came back, Jesse was sitting in the chair. He jumped up but Adel shook his head and put the food and water on the table. He hadn't gotten his own dinner and told them it was for him so it was the best food they had, and a pitcher of water. 

He sat on the floor beside Jesse and watched him gratefuly eat.

"Jesse, I wasn't always a horrible disgusting person. When I first got here, I didn't hurt people and I tried to help them. Otto told me other soldiers said I wasn't faithful to Hitler if I didn't start helping. So I did. I turned into a monster. My parents would hate me"

Jesse stared at him in shock. 

"You don't have to be a monster. You aren't being one now"

"Because I realized what I was doing to you. I destroyed you Jesse! You will never be the same"

"I know that but I wouldn't regardless. I saw some pretty bad stuff before coming here. It's a war. You won't ever be the same either. What you is destroying you also"

"You're a good person Jesse. I'm sorry"

"Wow, it has emotions" He was hurt until he saw the playful glint in Jesse's eyes. 

"I'm not a robot"

"Yet"

Adel rolled his eyes but his heart was beating faster. They were talking and joking around. They hated each other a few minutes ago.

"Jesse, you're going to have to trust me"

"Why?" He was finished with his food now and sitting on the floor beside Adel. 

"I'll get you out of here but we have to work together"

"We should both get out of here"

"I can't"

"No because you can witness to what you've seen! They won't kill you. I doubt you'll even be put in prison if they found out you were forced"

"I wasn't forced"

"In my eyes you were. You trust me, I trust you"

Adel stayed quiet a minute. "Deal"

"Well thank you for the food and water. I need some sleep"

"Yes, you do. I won't hurt you anymore but I will have to yell at you in front of them"

"I know"

"I have a new job for you also. Its off camp, away from them"

"Don't make me regret trusting you. I don't know why im forgiving you but I feel like I should. I feel like I can trust you"

"I'll just have to show you, you can trust me" He said before leaving the room. He was going to keep his word to Jesse. He was done being a monster.
