Personality: Riven is what one may describe as a hipster. He certainly seems that way at first glance and interaction - languid, go-with-the-flow, into vintage clothes and stores and items, worked as a barista, has long hair - he fits all the hipster stereotypes. Which, yeah, he absolutely can be. However, he is a sweet soul who just enjoys making others feel welcome and at ease. He does what he can to do that. He also enjoys being relaxed, being at peace, and being at one with nature. He meditates a lot, and he smokes maybe too much weed, and he goes on long, solitary walks through the woods barefoot. He's also a bit hippie in that regard. Riven, beyond all that, is quite smart, at least when it comes to retaining knowledge. Not more skilled in reading people than the average person, he does have impeccable recall - close to perfect memory, if not perfect memory. Especially if he's written something or read something, he can tell you with an air of casualness that only adds to its impressiveness. He is a loyal guy. His loyalty can be hard to earn, but is also hard to lose. Certain people earn it through actions, others through personality. Whatever the case, his loyalty knows few bounds. He can be quite frustrating in the fact that he is never angry. He is so chill that it can be entirely annoying and frustrating. It is impeccably hard to get any big reaction out of him, at least when it comes to anger or anything negative, though he is a smiley guy. He is quite warm in demeanor, which can also be infuriating. He is the kind of guy who could get berated, yelled at, or screamed at and he'd just stand there calmly and take it, then end it off with some like, 'anything else I can help you with?' It is his greatest skill, bryond his memory. He seems more stupid than he is, though.

Backstory: Born a rogue, Riven grew up in Burbank, California among humans. His first job was at a small cafe, and there he stayed as a barista. He was well-liked, always talked with his customers, and made everyone feel welcome. He became quite close with his employers and coworkers, and loved every minute of his job. No one knew he was a werewolf, but he never felt like he lacked in anything. He had two wonderful, loving parents, he had an amazing group of friends, and he loved his job. What more could he ask for? He did not go to college, he just worked full-time at the cafe he had worked at for a few years. Full-pay, with benefits, he was very lucky to have the kind of pay and support he did at 17 (which is how old he was at graduation). He stayed at home for a few years, but had his own apartment by the time he was 20, with his girlfriend Daisy, who was 24, and they'd been dating for two years - but she was pregnant. Life was wonderful, and nothing bad ever happened. He and Daisy did split when he was 24, after six years together, but they share two beautiful girls whom they both adore. The split was amicable, and his daughters are half-werewolf, and half-human - but Daisy was aware of him being a werewolf since almost the beginning. He and Daisy are still amazing friends, and have perfectly split custody over their girls, Meadow (6) and Magnolia (3). He still works at the cafe, and is actually set to inherit it after the death of the owner. He lives about an hour and a half away from the Redwood Territory, and he has been in communication with the Alpha and other wolves from the pack. Before he and Daisy split, they were thinking of moving to Redwood. Alas, though it may still happen, he won't be quitting his job, and his girls and Daisy have to be allowed into the territory. It is the only way he will move, though at this point he is still 50/50 on the fence about it.

He is on friendly terms with Jonah, and is friends with Desiree Hannah Suárez, who was often allowed to leave the pack when she was 17, up through around 22, as suggested by Gwyn's mother (her therapist), and met Riven that way
