Personality: Niamh is a loose canon in the best way - at least, she thinks so. Niamh earned the nickname Puppy for her very puppy-like qualities: high energy, always moving, full of love, and very playful. Niamh is the most different of the three triplets, in that she is truly just happy to be alive, happy to be loved, and happy to love others. She is great with people, with a knack for knowing when it is best for her to dial back and remain as calm as possible. She's patient, though impulsive, and easy to like. That's not to say everyone is her friend - she is still an Awen, still raised not to be the most trusting - but that's okay with her. She doesn't need a lot of friends, just those in her life who truly love and support her for all that she is. She loves people, but that doesn't mean she automatically trusts them. Intelligent, her intelligence is easily accessible to those around her; never does she make others feel dumb if they don't know something, and she always adjusts how she speaks so that those around her can fully grasp and understand what it is she is saying. A lover of life, Niamh always seems to be on the move. She always wants to be doing something and having a good time. Her favorite hobby is rock climbing - both out in the wild, but in a facility - and she goes whenever she can. She also loves to travel, which is partly why she was granted the charge of Foreign Policy when she was 13. Being contained just in her pack - despite how much she loves them - was never a viable way of life for Niamh. Though she is overall a happy, go-lucky person, she has her underlying darkness - though she tries not to let it affect others. Still raised in an environment where competition was ripe, with a lot of pressure riding on her shoulder, Niamh has major trust issues. Though she is working on it, it does affect her from time to time. Sometimes wary of her sisters - mainly her elder sister - she has gotten much closer to them in the past year. Niamh loves her sisters more than she could ever express, but she doesn't always trust them. When it comes to emotional vulnerability, Niamh is great at it...so long as it isn't her _own_ emotional vulnerability. Handling the emotions of others is one thing, opening up about her own is much harder, and she hardly does it. Playing most things of as fine or not serious or with a joke, she's gotten incredibly good at deflecting. Still, Niamh is ready to lend a helping hand to those who need it. Though not in charge of the Domestic Policy of her pack, Niamh is still very involved in the community, just all around having a good time.
Likes: rock climbing, traveling, her sisters, a good time, when everyone is happy, movement, spontaneity, winning
Dislikes: stillness, boredom, when people are upset, negative vibes, being unable to fully trust her sisters, being cooped up, staying in one place for too long, failing
Powers: shifts into a wolf (looks above); heightened speed, senses, strength, reflexes, and durability while in human form
Backstory: Niamh's life has always been one of pressure, which isn't always easy to tell given their daily disposition. From the moment they were born, they have had expectations to live up to. As the middle child of three sisters, who would one-day inherit the title of Mother, there was a push for Niamh to take over domestic policy when it was time. It was traditional - though really just coincidental - that most of the middle children of three girls - the Mother's - ended up being the 'mother' of the pack, in that domestic policy was their specialty. Niamh always knew that wasn't what she wanted, though. The idea of being cooped up within pack borders was nauseating. Don't get Niamh wrong, she loves her home and her pack, but to stay in one place forever was claustrophobic to her. If she'd earned any other role besides Foreign Policy, she would have had little reason to leave. She just couldn't have that. Niamh grew up the most different of the three of them - the most rambunctious, the most rebellious, the most well-adjusted (which is saying something, considering she isn't that well-adjusted in the grand scheme of things). She was always running away from home - never permanenly, she just wanted to explore. She was always caught outside their borders or on the edge of it, and always got dragged back home. Her escape was the rock climbing facilities the pack has, constructed for her grandfather when he and his siblings were in charge. He had a love of the sport, too, and a love of the outdoors. She was very close to her grandfather, often sneaking away to be with him when she was supposed to be in lessons. He never sent her back, letting her stay and learn from him, or just relax. When he passed away, Niamh was the only one at his bedside - she'd barely left it, in those final days. He was even the one who had named her - they had a very strong connection. When it came to her sisters, it took Niamh a long time to realize that they were actually close anymore. She didn't pick up on their frostiness right away, or their distance. Though she has always fluctuated between who she was closest to, that new develop was one she didn't appreciate. Disappointed she didn't fight harder to keep them together, she is making up for it now, since they earned their Alpha titles. Though she argues with them - almost constantly, it seems - she won't give up on them anymore. She has a strong desire to fix the generational mistrust and trauma that has built up. Though she has undertaken the massive task of fixing things, and is doing a semi-okay job thus far, she isn't neglecting her duties. As the emissary of the pack, she has gotten to truly travel, and for that she will always be grateful. Securing alliances, peace treaties, and neutrality agreements - and reinforcing already existing agreements - she's had a great time this past year. Stubborn when it comes to her sisters and politics - she tries to separate politics from her sisters unless they need to talk about something - Niamh struggles to actually open up to them. She likes hanging out with them, trying to help them, but she isn't always willing to give them a glimpse of herself that she wants of them. Still, she's working on it, and making much better progress with Aisling than she is Róisín. With her own, small group of loyal friends whom she loves and adores, that's all Niamh really needs in life. Knowing she won't have any biological kids of her own, she feels no need to subscribe to the old pressures her mother pushes on them - AKA trying to get them to compete for who would have the next generation of triplets. Though Niamh visits her mother, she does resent her at times, preferring not to talk about her private life with her mother. Though she knows her mother isn't actually homophobic and just disappointed that Niamh won't subscribe to the sacred duty of motherhood - especially considering she has the Mother title - Niamh never discusses her love life with her ailing mother. Still, NIamh is doing the best she can with the hand she has been dealt in life, and in truth she's just glad she didn't end up as fucked up as she could have.
