Personality: Hemlock is a very patient woman and a very commanding woman. Though quiet, when she speaks she demands to be listened to and respected, and she moves with a quiet confidence throughout the world. She commands respect simply by being. However, she is not one who seeks attention. She likes to remain more to herself, only approaching those when she wants company, and only accepting others approaching her if she is in the mood or if she finds them interesting or attractive or adorable. She is woman of mystery - the one that got away, if you will. She keeps to herself and is just as able to fly under the radar as she is to set off all the alarms. She stands out when she wants, she blends in when she wants. Not a woman of many words, she is a woman with clear intention. She sugarcoats nothing, she calls it like she sees it, and she goes after what she wants. Smooth and confident, she gravitates towards others who reflect that, or those who are the complete opposite, and hardly anyone in between. She likes extremes, people who fully embody themselves, no matter what that may be - awkward and introverted, loud and extroverted, quiet and intelligent, confident and brave, and so on and so forth. She attracted to people's energies more than their physical appearances, and when she is attracted to someone she is like a moth to flame. She likes to spoil her partners, to care for them, even if she hardly ever commits fully. Though an overall solitary person, she does have many friends and deep connections whom she just doesn't see often. Though often alone, she is far from lonely. She is deeply content with her life, and deeply happy, even if she isn't shouting it from rooftops. With a dark past, the fact she has made it to where she has is a miracle in of itself, and she plans to spend the rest of her eternal life living every second how she wants to live it. Backstory: Born in 1952, she grew up during the Civil Rights movement, was the daughter of two wonderful activists, and raised to be ahead of her time politically. When she realized she was a lesbian, she was proud of that, not ashamed, and her parents accepted her with open arms. She, by all accounts, had a wonderful, beautiful life. When she went off to university - a rare honor in her family, she left with pride though missed her family - she learned the world wasn't as accpeting as the community that her parents raised her in. People weren't so outspoken, or so wrapped up in politics, nor so accepting of anything that broke heteronormative society. Though she joined the Women's Politics group on campus, and though she found a small community of support, university ended up being the worst time of her life. Forced to drop out after she was beat near-to-death on a walk back to her dorm, that experience compiled with the other horrid abuse she faced, nearly broke her. She became a shell of herself and took a long time to recover, both physically and mentally. Unable to finish her college education, she still managed to find a job as a receptionist in a law firm, though was looked down on by her colleagues because of her lack of degree. Though at that point in her life she was less vocal about her political beliefs and sexuality, she found her way back to protesting. Dealing with a boss that didn't understand the meaning of the word 'no,' dealing with passive sexism in the office, dealing with homophobia, and struggling with her own mental health, Hemlock's life took a deep dive, yet to those around her she seemed as put-together as ever. It wasn't until her roommate - her partner - entered the bathroom and saw her passed out on the floor after an overdose that she got the help she needed. Though it took time, she recovered. She rediscovered herself, regained her confidence - over decades - and finally settled into herself and her body. A couple years after her release from rehab, Hemlock was bitten - in 1984 - during a protest that turned violent in San Francisco. Exposed to a whole new world, and once more going through a metamorphosis, Hemlock settled even further into herself. Not much different than before, her confidence and swagger was more noticeable, as was her the way she approached life with leisure. When she moved to NYC - 15 years ago now - she let more of herself shine. She fit into the supernatural nightlife in the city, she found more friends, she put her money to good use. Money that she earned after returning to university in the late 90s, going to night classes to earn her degree in English Literature. Taking her degree, she progressed to Law School, and is now a lawyer for the supernatural. Making good money, she is a regular at certain strip clubs and bars, and she enjoys the pleasures in life just as much as anything else. Though still deeply passionate about justice, she falls further from the human world and deeper into the supernatural one with each passing year.

Hemlock turned Desire less than a year ago, offering the bite up in their private suite of the Alley Cat club, which Desire accepted. Since then, she has further cultivated Desire and spends a lot of time with them, as both a part-time-lover and mentor
