Personality: A very smart, very confident man, people flock to him. He speaks with authority and respect, so people tend to listen. Not unkind, he isn't cruel wither. A man who pursues knowledge and intelligence, both for himself and in his partners. Highly intelligent, he isn't boastful about his own intelligence, but he is about the intelligence of those he cares for. Always promoting the well-done work of his friends and loved ones, he is very proud of those he loves. Definitely a bit abrasive and cold to those he doesn't deem smart enough, he is arrogant and snobbish in that way. However, he is so charming to those he deems worthy that they often overlook or become blind to his rudeness and abrasive attitudes towards anyone less intelligent than the benchmark he has set for his standards. He spoils the ones he loves, though not necessarily will physical gifts. They get spoiled with his affections, his pride, and his influence. When he promotes something, people tend to check it out. Highly regarded in the academic world - he is well renowned in the fields of Literature and History - he does use his influence for selfish reasons at times. Some people see his charm and abrasiveness as manipulative or negative, and in some cases it can be. His partners, in the past, get so wrapped up in his treatment and his mind, that when things are broken off they are often left blindsided. Backstory: He met Wilde while they were at Oxford together - Wilde was 20, Gregory was 30 and back for his PhD. Gregory was absolutely taken by Wilde's intelligence, engaging him often for spirited academic debate, of which they were often on differing sides. It was thrilling. Soon, their academic rivalry turned into friendship, then partnership, and the two were together for 5 years, living together for 4. Gregory and Wilde split right after Wilde published his first book, Gregory unable to handle the newfound attention on his life, and Wilde's life, and their life together. Wilde is the longest partner he ever had, and to this day may be the only one he has ever truly loved. He regrets leaving him every day. Outside of Wilde, Gregory has a prolific background in literary criticism. His essays and critiques are taught in some colleges, and always highly sought after for publication. He is a recent hire at Oxford University as one of their professors, and has been there the last three years, since he and Wilde split. In an entirely different country, he thought he'd be able to move on, however that hasn't happened. No one matches up to Wilde.
