He's 6'3
Personality: Feng is someone who feels constantly out of place. He does not feel as if he belongs anywhere. He grew up in a predominantly white, rich, suburban area despite the fact he was neither white or rich. He stuck out like a sore thumb and life was tough growing up. He had his friends here and there, but none of them could ever truly understand. Then there is the small matter of his species. He can pass as human, but there is always that underlying something that people tend to pick up on after some time, which in many cases makes people wary. As such, Feng has gotten used to assimilation and code-switching. He's quick on his feet, constantly able to adapt and conform to whatever situation he may find himself in. He tries to roll with the punches, taking everything in stride and not letting it bother him. But really, he bottles it all up until it inevitably explodes. But beyond all that, Feng is a restless soul. It takes a lot to occupy them fully, but music is one thing that fully takes him in, ensnaring them for days on end. Otherwise, Feng is always in some sort of constant state of movement - drumming fingers, fidgets, adjusting his position, stretching, bouncing his knee, kicking his feet - you name it, he's probably doing it. His mind is hyperactive, constantly aware of everything going on around him at all times. He's constantly wondering what people think about him, how he's perceived, if he's properly fitting in, if he's human enough, or mainstream enough, or vampire enough. Is he enough? His hyperactive brain also allows him to focus on and process many different things at once - the scent of someone's blood, the way their heart beats, the way they breathe, the way they look at him, the way the food nearby smells, the conversation the couple nearby are having - he's taking in everything. He's vigilant in his observations, and quick to catalog, but it's just another thing about him that labels him as 'other' in his mind, and in the mind of those around him. There is something inhuman about the way he knows everything - he's been likened to Sherlock Holmes in his deduction ability and the accuracy of it - but he hates that there is some other part of him that can be used to push him away. So he assimilates, suppressed his instincts and his intelligence, and does his best to fit in. Music has given him that avenue, as did sports - volleyball, in particular. Still, he is constantly hunting for his place in the world, and his purpose. He is restless and unmoored.
Likes: music (guitar, mainly, but he's a drummer and singer as well), his mother, volleyball (so he says; he still plays when he can), being accepted as he is
Dislikes: his 'otherness,' his inhumanity, his intelligence and ability to notice, his unrest, his longing, his loneliness, his lack of belonging, everything - he dislikes everything (he's got rather poor mental health)
Powers: heightened speed, senses (his senses are crazy heightened), reflexes, durability, and strength
Not as good as a full-blooded vampire, save his senses, which are his extraordinary trait (and ties into the processing speed of his brain)
Backstory: Feng is one of many kids of Garrick Keegan, the biological father of Luna Gold, Lilliana Vargas, and Knox Vermont. Much like in the cases of their mothers, his was taken advantage of one night, and Feng was the product. Though his mother was young at the time, and disowned for her pregnancy outside of wedlock, she adored her son beyond life itself. She chose his name - Feng - because it means 'wind' and wind is free of all burdens and attachments. She wanted freedom for her baby boy, and a life without burdens. Sadly, that didn't end up being the case, but Feng would dagger his own heart before he let his mother see how full of despair, pain, and sadness he is. Until he was about 9 years old, he and his mother relied on the kindness of neighbors and the community center for many things. His mother worked, but she'd had to drop out of university to have him, and with her disownment, she lost the funds to go to school. She worked hard and saved up, and Feng was either watched by neighbors or was enrolled in the programs at the community center, or sometimes even had to go with her to work. She worked two jobs - one at a diner, one at a grocery store - and she often worked back to back. When he turned 9, she started attending night classes, and by the time he was 11 she was able to enroll part-time in university once more. By the time he was 15, his mother had managed to snag a well-paying secretary job for a big company, and she's been there ever since. Growing up on the outskirts of such a rich, white community - and going to the private school on intellectual scholarship - Feng felt really out of place. He started going by one of his middle names, Trevor, because it was more American. He started dressing more like the other boys, and until he became an adult, kept his hair in the same style as them. He stopped speaking Cantonese with his mother, instead only answering her in English. He did everything he could to be one of them. Then there was the issue of his vampirism. Where he can rely on human food, he has always been drawn to blood. He can't deny the rather strong pull he has for the taste of human blood, and as a kid before he truly learned, he would bite mother and feed on her before she could stop him. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough for her to understand that Garrick had been no human, but that he really had been a creature of the night. She made sure Feng grew up understanding the significance of his background, though the word vampire had never been uttered. He was still treated and raised as human, his mother careful to steer him away from any darker impulse he may have had. As far as his mother is concerned, her parenting worked - Feng is as human as one can be. In actuality, he finds ways to feed - he needs blood at least twice a month to truly survive, and though it can be animal blood, it does little to truly satiate and sustain him. So Feng has to deal with that constant draw of hunger - it's why he is always so aware of the heartbeats of those around him, of their pulses and what he can scent of their blood. That's the other issue - Feng's senses are far beyond what anyone could truly imagine. He grew up with noise-cancelling headphones, until he trained himself to handle the onslaught. But he can smell people's blood even when they aren't bleeding. He can pick up on conversations happening far away, and can hear a pin drop even in the loudest of crowds. His mother always said that's how the Park family was, that they all had great senses. Which is very true, but added with Feng's vampiric side, it's extreme. He can identify people by the way they breathe, the way they walk, the way they smell, all from hundreds (if not more) feet away. He's uncanny in that regard, and when he forgets to mask it, it unnerves a lot of people. He's had very few friends truly stick around, and even worse luck with partners. At 28, and known for looking younger, he is still hunting for his place in the world. He plays gigs sometimes when he's hired, he plays volleyball with a local team, and he graduated college with a degree in Anthropology and Sociology, with a minor in Psychology. He only truly learned a supernatural world existed when he met his brother, Knox Vermont, a year or so back. Though he cannot fathom leaving his mother, or his younger sister, he has made small ventures into the supernatural world, to dip his toe in, so to speak. He keeps in contact with Knox, asking him questions and trying to get to know his brother. He is so curious about his other half-siblings and their lives - if anyone can understand the pain he has growing up, of not belonging, surely it would be them, no?
Other: He is the half-brother of Luna Gold, Lilliana Vargas, and Knox Vermont, and the son of Garrick Keegan (creations of (creations of Saytrn03 )
His mother was 19 when she had him; she got pregnant again when she was 35 and Feng was 16; and thus his baby sister Daiyu, who is now 12, was born
The circumstances of Daiyu's birth are also less than ideal, as Daiyu is the daughter of his mother's boss, who is married and has his own children, and so that causes issues as well
Feng is deeply attached to his family and he cannot imagine outliving them - every time that thought creeps into his head, he hates himself a bit more
Feng may prefer blood over human food, but he loathes himself every time the taste of blood hits his tongue; Feng despises everything about himself
He's had one partner, in the past, who let him feed on her, but the romance broke off - oddly enough - because he was quote "too tame" for her and she needed something more thrilling
He hates being tall, and he often walks with a slight slouch to his shoulders
He did start to keep his hair longer while in college; college was the best time of his life because he was exposed to more diversity and connected with his roots; he started speaking Cantonese again
He makes excursions in the supernatural world; he goes to bars that he knows shifters and vampires may venture, he goes to rogue spots that have popped up near him, he studies more about his vampiric history
He will likely immerse himself fully into the supernatural world at some point, but right now he has too much of a connection to the human world to be fully torn from it, so he straddles both worlds on a precarious tightrope
