Personality: Elane is a cold woman, in that she is very much so business-forward. She deals with what needs to be dealt with, then she can enjoy herself. No-nonsense and distant, she cuts an imposing figure no matter where she is. Unapproachable to many, she is both feared and respected. She has a way of finding out things that no one else knows, or that really she has no business knowing, which often leaves people wondering how she knows. She's ruthless - she will always do what she thinks needs to be done to protect the sanctimony of her family, her life, and the businesses she has a hand in. Even growing up, people knew her as someone brutally smart - she's among the smartest if not the smartest in every room that she walks into. Brutally efficient, you either stay in line or fall behind - just know she won't be stopping to make sure you're alright. Her life is lived her way, and if the people in her life can't keep up with that or find a way to make it work, then too bad, they are no longer part of her life. Not an emotionless woman, many at first think her to be. Though her emotions are bottled and reserved, she does have them, and actually quite deeply. It is, in part, why she is so reserved. Having to had to fight her way into the spaces she occupies today, she refuses to let her emotions compromise her position. Brutal, sneaky, and knowledgeable, that's how she got the nickname 'Shark.' It's s a nickname she wears with pride, though it originated as an insult - she never took it that way, turning it into an empire. Circling in the water, she knows when to launch her attack and when to hold back. Efficient in her work life, she's just as efficient in her private life, which she keeps private. No one knows what she doesn't want them to, and if they do she knows how to keep them quiet. She loves and hates in equal measure, and the two can often look the same to those on the outside. She's complicated and difficult emotionally, but if you manage to break through and see even a small peak, count yourself lucky and blessed. Backstory: Elane has been groomed into efficiency by her parents, which she took to like a fish in water. She loved cultivating herself, and starting young she found her talent for getting information on people, either through gathering it herself or through other sources. Always among the smartest, she is a certified genius and a member of MENSA, joining when she was just 16 years old, when she graduated college with a Master's in Business Management; she continued schooling and has a PhD in Business Psychology, as well as a slew of other Bachelor's and Master's degrees. A shadow-partner in many businesses, the limelight is not for her - though she can thrive in it if needed. Hired by major companies to help them plan the best path forward through investments, or hired to get dirt on their enemies, she is exceptional at what she does. Arranged to marry her husband when she was 18, they finally tied the knot when she was 23, and shortly thereafter children were had. Though she loves her children more than most anything, she has always struggled. Motherly nature does not come easy to her, but she was at least involved in her kids lives, and told them that she loved them often enough that it wasn't a foreign statement to them. She made mistakes - of course she did - and often had to go away on business trips, so their nanny raised them. But she was involved - she went to every graduation, every athletics game, every debate, every big milestone that she was able to attend. But she also had to clean up after her husband. She knew he was sleeping with others - she knew immediately, it wasn't hard to figure out who and when and where he was sleeping with. She always knew when his partners ended up pregnant, and always threatened them into silence with a large settlement. Though her husband has yet to find out, she knows it is only because of the way he indulges in the pleasures of life. She hates her husband - she does, always has. He's insufferable, stupid, and unfaithful. He's childish at times, he's lost, he's broken. She knows it isn't his fault, not fully, but she hates him for it all the same. Yet, the two are tied together in ways that are unexplainable. She hates him, but that's what makes him so delicious. Though, that isn't to say she doesn't have partners of her own - she does, just no one ever knows about them, ever. She's careful. The only kids she has are her three with her husband, and they will be the only kids she ever has. She does what she does to protect them and the shame that would come if their father's antics got out. Terrifying in her own right, her kids see a side that no one else sees. As good as a mother as she can be, she will fight tooth and nail to protect them and herself from the harsh world around them.
