Hamish is a good guy even though he's a guard. He's a loyal follower to his father rather than the entirety of Sanctum. When he is hired he takes his job serious besides the occasional crack of jokes and the conversations to ease the mood.
Hamish is a Haven guard which comes with a sense of responsibility and power, which he holds well. He is someone who would more likely break up a fight instead of joining one, unless it's absolutely necessary. Hamish doesn't like to fight but he will defend physically if needed.
Hamish isn't a gentle soul or someone who is completely dangerous and rebellious. He fits right in the gray line between the two.
When needed and asked he will follow those who hire him as if they are Alpha blooded wolves. He's an extreme loyalist to people even under temporary circumstances. Hamish loves jokes but his humor is pretty dry and can only be accompanied with eyebrow raises and small smiles.

Hamish, unlike his father, was born in Sanctum and was raised by Alasdair solely. With his mother abandoning him he was taught the exact same principles as his father before him. Be a gentleman, be refined. He took these lessons with ease and grew to be exactly what his father raised him to be. As the eldest sibling he also felt a responsibility to be a good example for his younger siblings.
Hamish grew up knowing he was half bear, half wolf, and in his teenage years he harnessed his power to be a protector instead of a fighter. He and his younger brother (the one right below him in age) would fight and soon Hamish had a better ability to defend himself and others.
Now as a guard he uses these powers to protect those who might need it.

Hamish doesn't actually live in Sanctum. He has his own house a few miles out of Las Vegas but when he is in Haven he stays on the first floor.
