3. Flirtatious Candy Man and The Search For The Man In The Trench Coat
*Hey guys! Are you guys enjoying this? Or have I already broken your hearts? Well, it is what it is. Also no one noticed, but I quoted Spider Man in that last chapter ("friendly neighborhood" flower shop).
Okay well stop reading my boring a/n and read the stupid boring chapter!*
// Dean's POV
Dean wasn't able to function the entire day.
He needed to get closer to Cas...even if he was rejected a bunch of times.
Dean had a feeling Castiel had also seen the color. When Dean saw it, he saw Castiel's eyes widen as well.
Omg his eyes are beautiful! Shh I know I know...but that doesn't matter right now-- is that why you've been thinking about them all day???
Castiel's eyes were amazing... they were this beautiful color that Dean couldn't describe. They were blue but not any blue.
They were like the ocean and the sky put into one-- they were like Hydrangeas when they were blue...beautiful. Dean wished he could see them again.
He wished he could see him again.
Dean needed to see him again.
"Helloooo? Mr Cashier Man?" A voice asked, breaking his trail of thoughts. Dean blinked a few times before looking at the man in front of the counter. His hair was pulled back and there was a lollipop in his mouth.
"Sorry! Can I help you?" Dean asked, smiling.
The man smirked in return and eyed him up and down.
"Well duh. Anyways, I'm just asking people random questions...you don't have skittles do you?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Uhh no wh-- "
"Hey, Dean!" A familiar voice rang through the shop and Sam ran in and stood in front of the counter, next to the man.
The man's eyes widened and the lollipop almost fell out his mouth.
"Hey Sam." Dean smiled before the man whistled.
"Well hello there, gorgeous." He smirked. Sam looked around the shop before realizing the man was speaking to him.
"Uhhh-- "
"Do you like candy?"
"I-- I guess...yea."
"I bet you taste sweeter than any candy I've ever had." He winked causing Sam's face to burn a bright red and Dean to burst out laughing.
"So about those skittles..."
Dean laughed and looked around underneath the counter before pulling out two bags.
"Here. Take two free, for that laugh you just gave me." Dean smiled, wiping a tear from his eye. "What do you need them for anyway?"
The man smirked and placed them in his pocket.
"Thought I might throw them at my younger brother. You know, as a message to taste the rainbow and embrace the gay." He winked. "I mean I heard they're rainbow colored...so yea."
He turned over to Sam and winked.
"Name's Gabriel. Smell ya later Samsquatch." He winked and walked out of the shop.
There was silence between the two brothers before Dean squealed and leaned over the counter, clapping his hands together.
"Aw, Sammy! He likes you!" Dean gushed. Sam's face went red and he ended up running into the gardens in the back of the shop.
Dean's laughing slowed down until he was frowning. He shouldn't have said anything about seeing color when Cas' hands touched his. He had just met the guy.
If he had just met him, it could have been confusion! They couldn't actually be 'soul mates' could they? ((Dean's so wrong ahahahaha))
But still. . . if he had seen color, there's no reason he shouldn't try and get Castiel to be his. He could give it his all and try to make that man see color as well.
Okay, that's awesome and all but. . .wHEN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'LL SEE HIM AGAIN?! THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU SAW HIM AND HE PROBABLY WONT BE BACK CAUSE YOU TECHNICALLY CONFESSED YOUR UNDYING LOVE FOR THAT MAN AN-- whoa whoa what? My undying love? what the hell brain? I just met the guy, I don't know if I love him! Okay so you two have to meet again and fall in love together, understood?
Dean groaned and pulled off his glasses, rubbing them off on his apron. He wondered if anyone knew him. He wondered if he could find him.
"Benny! I'm heading out!" Dean yelled into the small office behind him before pulling off his apron, running through the isles, grabbing the specific flower ((ehuehue guess which)) and running out of the shop.
+++++
It had been hours and Dean still was no where bear finding Cas.
Just look for a trench coat...
Dean checked his watch. It was about the time all the business people left their buildings and walked around for lunch or something.
Dean turned a corner and sure enough, a bunch of people were walking in different directions. The bad news, 75% of those important looking people seemed to be in a huge hurry and they wERE ALL FREAKING WEARING SOME SORT OF TRENCH COAT! I MEAN WHAT THE HELL?!
People were bumping into him from everywhere, but nothing happened. Dean tried making his way through the crowd but he kept being pushed around.
The only thing Dean knew was that Castiel had a tan trench coat and blue tie...
Before he knew it, the crowd had died off and he was standing at a whole different street.
Dean looked down at his hands, to see the Carnation was perfectly fine.
Okay this has been a really weird day... You can say that twice. Okay, this has been a really weird d--fuck you.
Dean looked around and sighed. He was never going to see that man again, was he?
// Castiel's POV
Castiel placed the pot on the coffee table and sighed, pulling off his trench coat.
He had seen color.
For the first time in his entire life, he had the opportunity to see color-- and he rejected the man who caused it.
Castiel was scared. He didn't know what to do so he rejected him-- and he regretted it.
Castiel looked at the flowers and sighed. He knew they were pink and red and beautiful and that Dean's eyes were green. Hazel green. Gorgeous.
Castiel stripped of all his clothes, except the boxers ((ehehe no booty for chu)) and pulled on sweatpants, a hoodie, and converse before stepping back outside.
Maybe he would run into him again.
As soon as Castiel opened the door, a bunch of candy flew at his face.
"What the actual hell?" Cas yelled and glared at his brother.
"EMBRACE THE GAY, BROTHER DEAREST!"
"Gabriel what-- "
"TASTE THE MOTHER FUCKING RAINBOW!"
"Gabriel, please stop."
Gabriel began laughing and dumped a whole bag of skittles into Cas' hair before opening a new one and eating those.
"Where you headed?" Gabriel asked, calmly.
Castiel ruffled out his hair, trying to get all the skittles to fall out and placed his hands in the pocket of his hoodie.
"Out. For a walk."
Gabriel eyes him carefully before shrugging and walking into the house.
Castiel sighed and walked away from the house, not anywhere in particular, he just walked.
It was getting late, it was getting darker.
Castiel liked it when it got dark, there would be stars, little specks of white in the sky.
It was pretty empty in his neighborhood now, only a few kids playing outside.
Castiel managed to walk outside of the neighborhood and at the start of the city.
He wondered what would happen if he saw Dean again. What would he tell him? What if Dean rejected him?! What if they touched and nothing happened?
Castiel sat on a random bench in front of a few shops and sighed, placing his head in his hands.
"I'm never gonna find him..." someone whispered in frustration.
Castiel quickly looked up to see Dean wandering around with a flower in his hand, looking around desperately.
"Dean...?" Castiel whispered.
Dean quickly looked around to see who was calling him and turned to face Cas.
"C-Cas?!"
"Hello, Dean."
Dean smiled widely and ran up to him.
"Hey! I've been looking for you all day man! Listen I'm really sorry about what happened at the flower shop..." Dean explained.
"It's fine Dean."
"Here, another flower, just for you." He smiled and extended his hand, giving Cas the Carnation.
Castiel smiled and took the flower but Dean held onto his hand and the world was filled with color once again.
Castiel then figured out what a sunset looked like. It was beautiful. There was orang and yellow everywhere. The Carnation was a light pink.
Castiel wasn't so frightened of the color this time.
Dean's smile widened and he sighed, looking around.
"I wish you could see it." He whispered. Castiel glanced at Dean and smiled sadly.
Dean didn't know he could see it too.
He should tell him... You realize that now? Stupid assbutt... But I can't. Not yet-- what why-- he could be an ax murder for all I know! Damn it Castiel...
Castiel sighed and squeezed Dean's hand. He would tell him...just not quite yet.
"Well if you see color, doesn't that mean I'm your 'soulmate' or something?" Castiel teased, the flower in between both their hands.
Dean looked back at him, his face flushed.
"W-well I mean, if you believe in that sort of thing-- I'm n-not saying that I d-do it's just t-that I-- "
Dean was cut off when Cas started laughing, his teeth showing and his eyes wrinkling at the corners.
"What's so funny?!"
Castiel kept laughing and let go of Dean's hand to wrap his arms around his stomach, the flower in his hands. Castiel hunched over, laughing hard.
"Oh god my stomach!" He cried.
"Castiel?! What's so funny?!"
Castiel quickly stopped laughing and stood up straight.
"I actually have...no idea why I'm laughing this hard! I just... I was just teasing!" Cas said, catching his breath.
Dean smiled and looked around, his mouth opening in shock.
"What?" Cas asked also looking around. He didn't notice anything different.
"There's still color." Dean whispered, amazed and smiling widely.
Oh...there was still color, even when they weren't touching.
"You're rig-- I mean, there is? I bet it's great." Castiel fumbled with his words. He had to be more careful when talking about color around Dean.
Dean looked at Cas suspiciously before nodding in agreement.
"It is great. I wished you could see it."
There was silence between them before Dean clapped his hands together and smiling at Cas, his teeth showing.
"You will see it. If I can see color around you, that must mean something. I have to admit I was pretty skeptical about it when I found out it was you because I'm straight-- well I thought I was, cause after looking at you, well I'm about as straight as a rainbow slinky." He winked and continued. "My point is, this has to mean something, it means you're my 'soulmate' or whatever and I'm still dubious about it but I'm willing to take this shot. If I see color, you can too. And I'll make it happen. You'll fall for me soon enough Castiel."
Castiel stood there in shock. He had no idea what just happened. Dean-- he-- what?! He's promising him that Cas would fall in love with him?!
Well by this point, Cas was questioning his sexuality too...
"And how exactly would you do that?" Castiel asked, smirking. Omg stop trying to be smooth just let things happen! Shizzles! Sorry!
Dean blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well, there's this really cool diner I always go to and I mean I could take you if you want and we could I don't know, do something? Eat? Sit down? I uh-- we could eat there-- well that's what diners are for aren't they? Crap...I fucked up bad." He laughed nervously.
"I would love to eat something at this really cool diner of yours." Castiel smiled.
Dean looked up and smiled widely.
"Great! How about you come to the flower shop and I'll drive us there?"
Castiel nodded and quickly kissed Dean's cheek before heading back home.
"Bye!" Dean called and Castiel waved in return.
When Castiel arrived, Gabriel was on the floor, surrounded by piles of candy wrappers.
"What happened?!"
Gabriel groaned and tried throwing skittles at Cas but failed and ended up eating them.
"Where were you?" Gabriel asked, rolling around and looking for another candy.
"I was with someone, if you must know."
Gabriel gasped loudly and looked over at his brother.
"You were actually with someone?! Omg who?!"
Did he just say 'omg'? Yep. Wow. Yep.
"That's none of your business, but if you must know, he works at that one flower shop in the city." Cas whispered.
Gabriel sat up extremely too quickly and gasped again.
"Glasses?!"
"Yea."
"DEAN?!"
"WAIT HOW DO YOU KNOW HIM?!"
"I MET HIM TODAY! HE GAVE ME THE SKITTLES TO THROW AT YOU!"
"Whoa...well I'll mention that to him tomorrow. I'll be stopping by the flower shop so he can take me to eat." Cas smiled.
Gabriel's eyes widened and he looked at Cas with a hopeful expression.
"TAKE ME WITH YOU!"
"On the date?!"
"Ooo, now it's a date? And no! Just take me to the shop!"
"Why?"
Gabriel was quiet for the longest time before whispering,
"I might see Sam..."
