Today is to highlight the importance of tourism,

for its social and cultural value,

also its political and economic worth,

with what it can generate in revenue.

So today is to encourage everyone,

to go out and explore our planet's diversity,

appreciate what our world has to offer,

go share it with humanity.

Since 1980 the United Nations World Tourism Organisation has celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27th, this date was chosen to coincide with an important milestone in world tourism, the anniversary of the UNWTO statutes. So today is to make people aware of the diversity of our planet and appreciate its beauty.
