Flowers on bamboo are rarely seen,

taking between 65 to 125 years to appear,

a Panda's diet is mainly bamboo based,

eating about 9,920 lbs each year.

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on Earth, it can grow 3 feet in height in a 24 hour period if conditions are right. The young shoots of a bamboo contain a toxin called taxiphyllin so before human consumption it needs to be cooked to destroy that. Because of its strength, bamboo is used in the manufacture of floors, furniture, house walls and numerous other things.
