In San Juan Capistrano

they have a National day,

it's all in aid of cliff swallows,

as they're about to fly away.

They live in the missions ruins

but winter will soon be here

so they fly south to Goya

and return again next year.

The amazing spectacle of the Swallows of Capistrano takes place at the mission San Juan Capistrano on March 19th, St Joseph's Day. People gather everywhere to watch the birds return and arrive at the old mission, there they start rebuilding mud nests. After a summer spent within the walls of the old mission the swallows take flight on San Juan Capistrano Day October 23rd, they leave after circling the mission, their destination is Goya, Corrientes, Argentina.
