October 10th World Mental Health Day.

Today is World Mental Health Day,

to remind us how life can be,

for those who suffer daily,

from an illness you cannot see.


From anxiety to phobias,

stress and low self esteem,

with panic and depression,

relief seems just a dream.


So if you know someone like this,

and have some time to spare,

give them a smile, hold their hand,

just show them that you care.


The World Health Organisation recognises October 10th as World Mental Health Day. People all around us at some time or other will experience a personal crisis such as losing a loved one, stress at work or from a physical illness, others sadly have to tolerate violence and abuse which can lead to mental health problems. Sometimes professional help is needed by some while others just need reassurances and someone to talk to who is prepared to listen and not be judgemental. People with mental health problems should not be discriminated against or feel isolated, that is just the opposite of what they need, they need our love, understanding and patience.
