Blame

Author's note: The first few chapters of this story are to be reworked...so the gist of it is well...they can explain better than I can, but they're supers trapped in a warehouse.

"Could you hurry up a little? We've got things to do princess, if you didn't know."

"Excuse me if I cannot run your highness, but this hallway is dimly lit and I really do not want to trip on my face!" I quietly yelled to Mr. Uptight pants ahead of me.

I just so wanted to punch his face right now, but I was primarily focused on trying to escape from this hellhole.

Letting my anger fuel my legs, I catapulted and landed near him, jostling him from a near perfect stride.

"Are you crazy?" he shouted in whispered tones.

"No, but you are the one who chose a girl strapped to a hospital bed to escape from an asylum with so...who is demented now?", I quipped to a bewildered boy.

"We should be focused on escaping while we have the chance, not fighting amongst ourselves..." ,he responded nonchalantly. I interrupted with a sarcastic remark, "How can I depend on a man I don't even know to be able to break out of prison with? Do you even know where we are?" I actually yelled the last part out loud and he lowered his hand to cover my mouth, but I growled at him with my teeth bared.

"To answer your questions. 1. I am not demented. 2. You can 'depend' on me because I am trying to get out of here, same as you. 3. No. I wish I knew where we are. " he answered with an annoyed look on his face.

As we had stopped during this conversation, I started jogging towards the nearest hallway and he decided to join me as well. However, we still  continue our conversation as I was interested in what he had to say for himself.

"Well, do you know anything at all? Like about this place?", I asked with frustration in my voice.

"I only know what I have gathered from observation. The facts are this is an old building called the warehouse and it has an assortment of medical items. That means either we are in a warehouse for medical items which could be anywhere or in a former asylum that is cleaned up a bit.", he stated out of his own deductive reasoning.

"Indubitably, Mr. Watson. And I'm Sherlock Holmes, private consulting detective!" I said sarcastically with disgust on my face.

"Ok, Captain Obvious, what else do you want me to say?" he threw back to me.

"What about why are we...am I here? What is the significance of this place? Who are these people who kidnapped me and chained me to a bed for a day?", I retorted quickly.

Silence reigned as he looked at me incredulously.

"You don't know, do you?" "What?" "You were out for a week on that bed."

"I was knocked out for a week? How?" "I think they used a sedative, I'm not sure.", his words made me instantly furious at the people who took me away from my school and took time away from me.

"So a bunch of people kidnapped me and chained me to a bed for what?!!!!" I screeched at the boy.

He stared at me again. This was getting old so I poked him in the arm and he stopped what he was doing. Did he enjoy aggravating me so much? I seriously just met him a few minutes ago.

"I've seen them experiment on people here for their powers. This is a warehouse that belongs to an organization that has the initials AoE. Everyone here was chosen because we wouldn't follow them and serve them. The school I went to was a front for them and I'm guessing your school was as well." When he said the words AoE, the hairs on the back of my neck froze. Well, guess I better tell dad his friend was part of these bad guys. AoE stood for the Ambassadors of Evil and I'm guessing this guy has no idea who they are. The less info I tell him, the better off he is not knowing.

I only had one question after that. "Do you have powers then?" I turned my head sideways to ask him this as I could not ask directly into his hazel eyes. Wait, were they hazel? My mom had hazel eyes? Why am I thinking of my mom right now? Back to the present, I waited and did not hear an answer immediately. I slowed down to a speedwalk when I saw his lips begin to move.

"Yes. And obviously, you do too." he stated with sincerity in his voice.

Suddenly, he stopped before a fire exit and motioned that this was the one.

I stepped through it first after he disabled the alarm by punching some numbers. He followed and told me that he had watched some guards type the number in yesterday as he waited for me to wake up.

Wow, what a creep, I thought. Then within 4 yards, we came across an iron fence. I was going to start climbing it when he pointed to the sign that mentioned it was electrified.

I smiled. "I got this", I told him and proceeded to touch the fence. I felt the electricity coming to me from the fence and wielded it in my hands. Telling him to hurry up, he began to climb and finally jumped over the fence. I let the electricity go and began my descent. Finally, at the top, I waited to jump. He noticed my wait and mistook it as hesitation.

"Are you afraid of heights?" he asked in all seriousness. Ha. As if I could be afraid of such as silly fear as falling from tall places. My sister was...is afraid of heights and I was always the one in my house who would climb stairs/reach into all the high places when my dad was away.

"Of course not. I took gymnastics. I'm a great jumper."

Then I vaulted into his arms laying below.
