Under-cat

I have been waiting for this moment for decades!

I've been trapped in this body for centuries. Nobody told me this before I ventured into the human world. That once you step into the first bag of flesh, you can't leave until the gate reopens.

I've endured those tasteless rodents and those stupid humans countless times . Although I must say, humans taste much better than their long-tailed counterparts.

But something doesn't seem quite right.

The portal to the Underworld isn't supposed to open until the next century. And it certainly didn't look like this when I arrived.

Hmm!

Still, this is my chance to return home. I can shed this ugly fluff and stretch my tentacles. Ahh! I can be free again.

The thought makes my spine tingle in excitement.

I tread slowly into the portal.

My paw slides over something and a red spark ignites...
