"Recently, Adrien has been dating Kagami." One girl whispered
"Seriously? The Kagami Tsurugi? Well that makes sense, they're both incredibly attractive and popular." Another girl replied
"I thought he was dating that bluenette girl though..." a young boy joined in
"I heard that was his maid!" The girl replied mockingly

Rumours have been swirling all around school. And Marinette has had enough of it

"Adrien!" Marinette called out
"Yeah?" Adrien replied "what's up?"
"Have you heard? The rumours about us are going around like crazy! You should really just confirm your relationship with Kagami already!" Marinette demanded
"Er...yeah...about that...." Adrien scratched the back of his neck
"Wait a minute...." Marinette's eyes widened "did you break up with her?!"
"Shhhh! Pipe down will ya?!" Adrien demanded
"Why would you do that?!" Marinette whispered
"Well...."

[FLASHBACK]

Adrien Agreste wasn't a fan of solo missions, especially not solo dates! Though he had to fly solo for this one. Kagami had just invited him over to his house! "Gosh darn it" he thought "should I even be going to a girl's house when I don't have a ring for her yet?!".

He rang the doorbell and was greeted with several maids who quickly escorted him to Kagami's room

"Miss Tsurugi", the maids called "Young Agreste has arrived"
"Ah, Agreste~chan." Kagami greeted formally "Please let him in, let's start working on our project now, shall we?"

The maids bowed as they shut the door
"...Agreste~Chan?" Adrien asked
"Ah, sorry Adrien." Kagami sighed "Japanese culture prevents me from saying anybody's first name. Japanese can only call somebody by their first name casually if they're a close family member or a...boyfriend..."

Adrien blushed, but was confused, weren't they an item?
"U-um..a-aren't we...?" Adrien asked
Kagami sighed "Let's not talk about that now Agreste, want to play chess?"

Chess? I mean, sure Adrien was great at it but..that didn't mean he LIKED it... chess was ...something he was forced to learn as a child. He never liked it. He loved video games, outdoor games, you know, more boyish things..but Adrien did not want to lose Kagami...he's liked her for a long time...right?

"Sure thing!" Adrien smiled

Kagami took out her huge chess set and gently put it on the table
"I'll go white and you go black." Kagami ordered

It wasn't a big deal, but Adrien was a guest right? Shouldn't that mean he was the one who had to pick which side he wanted to be on? But...It didn't matter though...right?

They started playing, and as minutes passed, Adrien looked like he was winning. That sounded like a good thing but...Kagami didn't look too happy about it.

"K-Kagami...?" Adrien said her name softly
"w h a t ?" Kagami looked at him emotionlessly
"N-nevermind..."

Adrien started to get scared...what if Kagami broke up with him if he won? He had to start losing...

And that's exactly what he did, he lost on purpose.

Kagami smirked "And that's why you never go against me in chess; Agreste!"
Adrien smiled awkwardly "Y-yeah...thanks Kagami..."
"Let's go play some cards now!"

Alright...this was starting to get boring, is this what boyfriends and girlfriends do? Play cards? Don't they like, cuddle...hug? Watch Netflix? Laugh together? In fact, he could say with pure confidence, that he has much more of a fun time hanging around with Marinette than with Kagami right now.

"H-hey Kagami...we played chess for a while now...don't you wanna watch a movie?" Adrien asked kindly

"Oh sure." Kagami smiled "actually movies are boring, let's watch a documentary!"
"U-um.."
"Whatcha want? My personal favourites are the 'Evolution of Monkey to Man' & 'The Dust That Created The Universe'!"

Alright. If there was a list of the most boring titles in the world those titles would be in the top 10! I mean, nonetheless it's interesting but we watch those documentaries in school! But no...he had to sacrifice...this is what men do right? Sacrifice for women? I guess this is how it works...men are from Mars and women are from Venus...but...how come he could always relate with Marinette, his maid of all women!

"Y-you choose Kagami..." Adrien smiled awkwardly again
"Sure. I think I like the 'Evolution of Monkey to Man'."

They both sat down on the sofa and Adrien sighed deeply. This was boring. As the movie played, he thought of something.. someone... else..
He thought of Marinette
A sudden realisation swept through Adrien's face. Maybe Kagami wasn't the person he try liked..maybe it was...
"Adrien!" Kagami cut off his train of thought "Are you still watching?"
Adrien looked at Kagami, looked around the room, looked at the games they just played..and movie they were watching.. and then he looked at Kagami

Adrien sighed "I'm sorry Kagami, I..I..."
"You what?" Kagami asked
"I...think....I'm...CONSTIPATED!" Adrien made up an excuse
"...constipated?" Kagami looked at him weirdly
"Y-yeah...I think I need to go now..BYE!" Adrien hurriedly rushed out the door as a dumbfounded Kagami was left alone

[END OF FLASHBACK]

"YOU SAID WHAT?!" Marinette panicked "Are you insane, Agreste?!"
"Shut up!" Adrien crossed his arms "I didn't know what else to say, okay?!"
"Why did you even want to leave anyways?!" Marinette asked curiously
"Well...um..." Adrien paused for a second and stared at the bluenette's bluebell eyes. He noticed his face turning red and quickly covered it up with his jacket

"Um...Adrien..?" Marinette tugged on his sleeve
"H-how about you huh! How are you and Luka?!"
Marinette paused. Then started stroking her hair awkwardly
"W-well...y-you see......"
