Walk you home?
Another update :)
"Dude come on, you have to go." Caleb said, shaking Finn to get out of his bed. Finn wouldn't leave.
"I'm calling off." Finn said, face in his pillow.
"Dude, it's the 3rd day you've called off, you have to go." Caleb said, making Finn groan.
He hasn't spoken to Millie, or anyone to be exact, in the past couple of days. Besides Jack. The guys keep asking Jack what the problem is, but Jack doesn't even know. He just remembers Finn coming home with puffy eyes and dried tear stains on his face.
"Come on, it's only a four hour shift. We can all hang out after work too." Caleb said, and Finn sat up.
"Just the guys." Finn said, finally looking at Caleb. Caleb noticed the bags under Finns eyes, and his pale face which it usually is. He looks tired.
"Okay, yeah." Caleb said, eyeing Finn again. He was wearing a black tshirt and black sweatpants with some socks.
"Okay, get your uniform on and meet us in the lobby." Caleb said, and walked out of the dorm room.
Finn put his hands in his hair, and let out a deep breath. This shouldn't be affecting him that much. First off, it's embarrassing. Second, it hurts. Third, he thought she liked him back. He didn't think it was a hookup. But that's what it always is in Finns case, why should he be surprised?
"Dude, what's up with Finn?" Noah asked as Caleb walked back down.
"Dude, I have no idea. He looks miserable though. He's coming in a second." Caleb replied back.
"Well he was fine when we saw him the other night. What happened between then and now?" Noah asked, and Gaten shrugged.
"He's never like this. I have no clue." Gaten said, and soon enough Finn made his way down, greeting the guys like normal.
—
"Dude, please." Finn begged Noah for the one hundredth time. Noah rolled his eyes.
"Dude, I don't wanna go up there. It's better back here." Noah complained. Finn was trying to get Noah to work in the front instead of himself.
"Please. I'll pay you back." Finn said, and Noah groaned. He was tired of hearing Finn beg.
"Fine." Noah said, taking the headset from Finn and walking up to the front. He greeted Sadie and Millie who were making coffees.
"I thought Finn was doing headset?" Millie asked Noah. He shrugged, putting on gloves.
"We switched today. I don't know," Noah said, and Millie nodded. Finn walked straight past her when he got here, not even looking at her. She doesn't blame him though. But she wants to apologize. It's been three days of ignoring her.
"So Millie, do you and the girls want to do something tonight? Maybe we can pick our secret Santa person." Sadie said to Millie, starting up a conversation.
"I thought we were all doing that as a huge group." Millie asked.
"Oh shit, yeah we are. Hey Noah, do you guys wanna come and do this secret Santa with us? After work?" Sadie asked, Noah becoming intrigued.
"Hell yes." He said, making the two girls laugh. Millie looked and saw they were out of creamer, so she walked to the back to grab a box of it.
When she got the box, she lifted it up and started to carry it to the front. She turned a corner and immediately hit someone, looking up and seeing the face she's wanted to talk to.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit you," she said to Finn, and he shrugged.
"You're good." He said, walking past her. Millie watched him walk away.
"Finn-
"Millie, please. Just don't. Please. It's fine." Finn said back nicely and kind of quiet, cutting her off from saying anything. This is exactly what he was trying to avoid. He walked away before she could say anything more, and she sighed and walked up to the front and set the box on the ground to put more creamer into the storage container. Meanwhile, the guys were observing the whole situation.
"This is Noah, copy. Did you see that? Copy."
"Noah we know it's you on the headset dumbass. Yes we saw it." Caleb replied back onto the headset Gaten and him shared.
Noah walked to the back, and looked at the two.
"Do you think it's about Millie?" Noah asked lowly.
"One hundred percent. I wonder what happened though. Noah you need to make Millie spill the tea about what happened." Gaten said, and Noah rolled his eyes.
"If I can get her to." Noah said, walking back up
to the front.
—
"Caleb, you said just the guys." Finn said as they were clocking out, going to Sadies.
"Yeah but they wanna do this secret Santa thing now. Is there a problem with the girls?" Caleb asked, and Finn shook his head no. He just wants to go home and not talk to anyone for a couple days.
They eventually made it to Sadies, the girls already there chatting. Finn tried not to look at Millie, but it was hard not to. He wishes it was as easy for him as it is for her to just not be upset about what happened.
But why would she be upset? She's not the one that's stupid enough to think that it was a real thing and not a hookup.
Finn shook the thought off and sat down on the couch. The office was on, and the girls were having popcorn. They got off an hour earlier than the boys did. Everyone was there, the six of them also including Lilia and Maddie.
"Okay, let's pick." Lilia said, shaking the bowl with all of their names in it. Finn was dreading this. He didn't want to get Millie. Anyone but Millie.
Lilia went around and had everyone pick a paper with a name on it. Finn opened his up to see that it was Sadie.
Thank god.
On the other hand, Millie was stressed.
She got Finn.
Of course she got Finn, just to make her life that much harder. Maybe she could apologize in a gift? She discretely looked up at Finn, and he was watching Sadie and Caleb engaged in a conversation about something random.
I wish I wouldn't have even kissed him in the first place. I could have picked anyone to hook up with, why did I pick my best guy friend?
Noah was watching Millie and Finn and how they've been reacting towards each other, and something is definitely off. He just doesn't know what.
What could have even happened?
He looked back to Finn, and saw a faint mark right underneath his jaw. It was a light red. It kind of looks like a hickey. Noah's eyes widened, and he looked to Gaten.
"Gaten come to the kitchen with me I'm hungry," Noah said, grabbing his arm and pulling him to the kitchen.
"Dude what the fuck?" Gaten asked, annoyed.
"I think Millie and Finn hooked up." Noah said lowly, and Gaten eyes widened.
"You think that's it?" Gaten asked, looking over to Finn. He was on his phone, scrolling through whatever app.
"Yes. I swear dude, that's a faint faint hickey on his neck. Like right below his jawline." Noah said, and Gaten squinted and tried to see.
"Why are you even looking at his jawline?" Gaten asked, laughing.
"Besides the point, I think that's it. It's gotta be it. Look how awkward they are around each other." Noah replied back. Gaten shrugged.
"But why would Finn be upset?" Gaten asked. All the boys knew that Finn liked Millie, they just never said anything straight up.
"I don't know, I haven't figured that out yet." Noah said, and Gaten nodded.
"Okay, let's not bring it up though." Gaten said, as they walked back to the group.
—
The guys left one by one, Finn being the last. Before he left, Millie stood up and looked at him.
"Can I walk you?" She asked. Finn finally met her eyes, the first time all night.
I need to get over you.
"That's okay, I'm just around the corner." Finn said, walking out and closing the door. Silence filled the room, and Millie sat back down.
"What's up with him?" Sadie asked. Millie shrugged.
"You definitely know what's up. Tell us." Maddie said, and Millie shook her head.
"I don't know if I should." Millie said, and Sadie looked over to her.
"What happened?" Sadie asked, and Millie sighed.
"We almost hooked up." Millie said, putting her hands over her face. The girls eyes widened, eyebrows raised.
"You and Finn? Wait almost? What happened!!" Lilia said, the girls also curious. Millie groaned and put her hands back down.
"After we drank here the other night he walked me home and I just needed a hookup to get my mind off stuff and I wasn't thinking. I kissed him and one thing led to another and we were in my bed and I started crying and I apologized because I thought a hookup would make it go away." Millie explained, the girls intrigued.
"But why is it awkward? Like why isn't he talking to you?" Sadie asked.
"He didn't think it was a hookup." Millie explained, the girls faces turning sincere.
"Oh my god." Lilia said, saddened.
"Poor Finn. Jesus Millie, you really took a toll on that boy," Sadie said, laughing a tiny bit.
"You can't tell the guys this." Millie said, warning the girls. They nodded, still shocked this even happened.
Millie just felt miserable, knowing Finn is upset like this. She just wants to be his friend again.
Or more than.
