Millies home

Millie and Finn were sitting in Finn's living room, Millie looking up plane tickets on her computer. Finn was on his phone, on the other side of the couch.

He noticed Millie's frustration as she sighed, furrowing her eyebrows at the computer screen. He shut his phone off and moved closer to her so their legs were touching.

"What's the problem?" He asked, looking at the computer.

"These are so expensive for no reason. And also all of the flights are for tomorrow." Millie said, Finn frowning.

"I wish I could stay with you all summer." Millie said, leaning her head on his shoulder. Finn sighed, wishing that is what could happen too.

One more week couldn't hurt.

"Hey, I have an idea." Finn said, Millie moving his head to look up to him.

"How about I go back to England with you for a week? I haven't met any of your family, so I can meet them and also spend time with you." He said, seeing Millie's frown turn into a smile. But, she started thinking, and the frown appeared again.

"Is that not okay? I don't mean to invite myself." Finn said, Millie shaking her head and holding his hand.

"No no, you aren't inviting yourself. I like the idea, it's just...you don't really know my family. My parents for that matter. They're sort of strict and overprotective with boys, and they can be tough to crack. I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable." She said. Finn shook his head.

"Well they better get to know me now because I'll be around for the long time." Finn joked, Millie nudging his arm.

"But seriously, it's okay. I want them to like me so I'll try my very best." He said, and Millie thought for a minute.

I mean, what can go wrong?

She smiled, and looked back at him. "Sure, let's go together." He grinned, putting an arm around her and kissing her forehead.

"Go where together?" Mary said, as she walked into the living room seeing the two cuddled up on the couch together. She thinks they are adorable.

"Oh, we were thinking I could go to England with her if that's okay? It would only be a week." Finn said to his mom. She looked to Millie, and her eyes were wide and she had a light smile on her face. She looked back to Finn, with a grin on his face. She's never seen him this happy.

"Yes! That would be great. Send pictures while you're there!" Mart said, Millie and Finn both nodding and thanking her.

Finn stood up, placing the computer on the ground and taking Millie's hand.

"What are you doing?" She asked, standing up from the couch.

"Well I better start packing!" Finn said, taking Millie's hand and running upstairs, the echoing of their laughter throughout the house.

Mary smiled at the two, and looked over to Nick who had just walked in.

"Those two are really something." She said, Nick sitting down on the couch and nodding.

"She's the one. For sure." Nick said, his mom raising her eyebrows at him.

Finn took Millie's bag, putting it in the storage above their seats on the plane. She sat down at the window, and Finn sat in the middle.

"I've never been to England. I get to be around everyone and their accents. Maybe I should fake one for fun." Finn said, getting Millie to laugh.

"People will know as soon as you step foot here that you are not from England." She joked, holding his hand.

The plane took off, and Millie soon fell asleep on Finn's shoulder. He sighed, and looked out the window. He's nervous to meet Millie's family, but he has to. If they don't like him, he will get them to like him. He wants Millie's family to like him because he is with Millie, and he loves her.

He loves Millie.

He tried to push the thought away, but being with every day, the way he smiles when she's around, the way he feels when he sees her. He can't describe the feeling, but he knows for a fact he loves her. He wants to tell her soon, but he doesn't want to make it awkward if she doesn't love him back.

So, he has a couple of things to be nervous for.

"Millie, don't stress too much. They are expecting us both." Finn said, walking up to the door with her. He looked at the outside of her house, seeing how big it was compared to his. It looked a little old fashioned, but it was something he imagined Millie to live in. There were multiple cars in the driveway.

"Okay, I think Charlie is home but Paige is still on her flight back. So it's my mom, Charlie, and Ava." She said, looking to Finn. He nodded, giving her a light smile.

She took a deep breath, and opened the door.

Finn looked around once the door was opened, and it was a very nice house. They had white walls, a lot of their furniture was monotone but a lot of decorations that made the rooms look colorful.

"Millie, you're back!" Millie's mom yelled. Finn watched as Millie set down some of the bags she was carrying and gave her mom a hug.

"I missed you so much, welcome home!" She said, giving her a smile. Finn noticed how much she sounded and looked like Millie. She turned to Finn, eyeing him.

Finn decided to make the first move. He smiled, and stuck out his hand for her to shake.

"Hi, I'm Finn. It's nice to meet you Mrs. Brown." He said, Millie's mom giving him a slight smile and softly shaking his hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Finn. I'm Kelly." She said, as Finn watched her take in everything about him. It made him nervous, but he tried not to show it.

"I'm making dinner, it should be ready soon. Would you to care to join?" She asked, smiling and looking to Millie.

"Yes, we would love to. We're going to bring my bags up to my room and unpack, but we will be down soon." Millie said, grabbing her bags off the floor. Finn followed her, reaching a set of stairs and climbing up. She walked all the way down the hallway, her room being the second to last one down the hallway.

Finn walked in and immediately smiled at the sight of her room. She had a dark purple comforter, and her walls were grey with posters hanging everywhere. He looked on the back of her door, noticing a Justin Bieber poster from when he was young. He chucked, making Millie look over to him.

He pointed to the back of her door, holding back his laughter as Millie turned red.

"Shut up, Finn." She said, as he laughed.

"But why? He's such a good artist. I've covered one of his songs, the one that goes 'baby, baby baby ohhh-

Millie cut him off by placing her hands on his mouth.

"Stop making fun of me." She said, taking his hand off of his mouth.

"Okay, I won't mention the Justin Bieber poster ever again." He said, looking down to a smiling Millie. He leaned in to give her a kiss, but she backed away from him and looked to the door that was still open.

"What are they gonna do, kick me out?" He asked lowly, and Millie shrugged.

"I just don't want her to be any more judge mental." Millie said, sighing. Finn let the conversation go, and nodded. The two started to unpack everything she needed to, and Finn started putting stuff into her dresser when he noticed a picture frame sitting on top of it.

It looked like a younger version of Millie with her dad.

She had told him that her dad passed away her sophomore year, and he felt terrible. He doesn't know how his life would be without one of his parents.

Millie saw him staring at the picture, and she came up next to him and looked at it.

"This was right after my soccer game. And then we went out for ice cream after, and watched funny moves the rest of the night. I remember I did terrible that game, but he didn't say anything about it. He told me I did the best I could do, and he was proud of me. It made me happy to have a parent like that, not depicting every flaw that I had. I quit soccer when he passed away." She said, Finn turning over to Millie to see tears welling in her eyes. He put his arm around her, hugging her tight.

"He sounds like a great dad." He said, the two still looking at the picture.

"He was the best." She replied, wiping away a tear that had fallen.

"Millie! Dinner!" She heard her mom yell, millie jumping from her spot next to Finn and looking at herself in the mirror. Finn watched her.

"You look beautiful. Don't worry." Finn said, millie giving him a slight smile. She quickly got rid of the tears in her eyes, and took Finn's hand and led him down for dinner. Before they reached the stairs, she stopped and turned to him.

"I'm sorry if she says anything that's rude, or does anything rude. Same with Charlie. They are just-

"Millie, it's okay. I can handle it. I can take some tough shots," he said, Millie smiling and nodding, walking back downstairs.

The two walk downstairs into the kitchen, and Finn sees her older brother Charlie. He looks more like her dad than her mom.

"Hey, I'm Finn. It's nice to meet you." Finn said, shaking Charlie's hand.

"Hey, I'm Charlie." He said, a slight smile on his face. Before they could say anything else, he heard footsteps running down the stairs, a little girls voice running towards him.

"Millieeee is this your boyfriend?" She asked, as Finn turned around to meet Ava. She was little, looks just like both of her parents. She had blonder hair, like Charlie.

"No running Ava!" Kelley yelled, Ava looking over to her.

"Sorry mom." She said, and then turned back to Finn with a smile. Finn was actually taller than all of her family, beating Charlie by just an inch or two. He smiled and kneeled down, meeting Ava.

(Ava is gonna be little in this idk how old she is irl)

"Hi Ava, I'm Finn." He said with a smile and a happy voice. She smiled back.

"Hi Finn's it's very nice to meet you." She said, giving him a hug. Finn returned the hug, and she then got shy and walked away towards the dining room.

Finn looked up at Millie, and she was smiling and raising her eyebrows. She knew Ava would like him, it's just Charlie and her mom that's the real issue.

They both sit down at the table next to each other, with Kelley at the end, and Ava and Charlie across from them.

"So Finn, what are you studying at Mill State?" Kelley asked, Finn looking towards her.

"I'm looking somewhere within the mechanical and computer engineering field right now, but as of right now I'm just majoring in engineering." He replied, getting a nod from Kelley.

"Oh wow, you don't look like the type to be an engineer." Millie's heart dropped, knowing things like this would take place.

"He's actually been helping me out a lot with school. We are in some of the same basic classes together, and he's helped me get an A when we study." Millie replied, defending Finn. Finn slightly smiled, looking down at his plate.

"Well that's good. But you could always go and find an actual tutor if you need more help." Kelley replied, Millie shaking her head.

"No, I've been good other than those classes." She replied, Kelley nodding.

"So, what else do you do Finn?" She asked, Finn putting down his fork.

"I'm in a band actually, Calpurnia. We just had a show a couple of weeks ago." He said, noticing Millie's hands were under the table picking at her skin next to her nails.

"A band? That sounds very fun." She said, sounding more sarcastic than anything.

"We've been in it for a couple of years now, and we have a lot of people who come to watch. Millie just went to our last show actually." He replied, Kelley nodding.

"Interesting." She said, eyeing Millie.

"I almost forgot, Millie told me you two met at work? How was working on campus?" She asked, Millie looking up to her.

"It was good, I met a lot of my friends from work. And Millie met our group there and we have all been hanging out ever since. But yeah work is good, our manager is good." Finn replied.

"Millie, did you not get paid enough to afford a ticket back here for winter break?" She asked Millie, and Millie looked over to her.

"No, only enough for one way."  She said, and Kelley nodded.

"She stayed with my family for winter break, and they loved having her there. It was a good break." Finn said, Millie nodding.

"Maybe you should have stayed on campus and worked a little more to afford a two way ticket to see your actual family." Kelley said to Millie, Finn furrowing his eyebrows.

Who does this woman think she is?

"Maybe you should have helped me out a little more if you wanted to see me so badly." Millie muttered, Charlie raising his eyebrows.

"We've been over this Millie, we are not discussing this here." Kelley said, Millie just staring into her plate of barely touched food.

"I'm sorry about them." Millie said, laying on her bed. Finn walked over and laid next to her, looking her in the eyes.

"She's just a very stubborn mom. I'll just have to break through to her." He said, a smile on his face. Millie smiled back. She's thankful Finn doesn't hate them.

"I think a lot of it has to do with my dad passing away. They are just like, way too overprotective of me now. With any boy." She stated, Finn nodding.

"That's understandable, I-

He got cut off by Millie's phone going off, a notification. It was a text from her mom.

Finn can sleep in the spare bedroom. And keep your door open while he is here.

Millie sighed, putting her head in the pillow.

"They're being so annoying," she muffled into the pillow, Finn smiling at her. He rubbed her back.

"It's gonna be okay, just give it time." He said, Millie sitting up and looking at him.

"You're not upset about this? I mean, I just feel bad because I feel like I barely had to do anything and your parents just immediately loved me. And now you have to put all of this work in just because my mom is being so stubborn." She replied, Finn sitting up as well.

"No, my family is just very open to people. Others are different. I'll break through to her, don't worry. But for now.." he said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear and setting his hand on the side of her face.

"I will sleep in the spare bedroom." He finished, giving her a smile. He leaned in and connected their lips, Millie's stomach filling with butterflies. She nodded, and got up to close the door. She looked to Finn who had excited eyes, and she shook her head and laughed, going to her dresser to find a tshirt and shorts to change into for pajamas. Finn sighed, leaning back onto the bed and watching Millie.

She took off her shirt, exposing the faded purple and red marks still on her from the cabin. And one from last night. The faded marks trailed down from her chest to her stomach, down to where her shorts end.

"Don't get any more ideas." Millie said, smiling at Finn. He smiled, winking.

"They're fading, it looks like they could use some touching up," he said, sitting up moving to the edge of the bed as Millie threw another shirt on.

"No touch ups necessary." She replied, Finn not being able to keep his eyes off of her. It's like she's the only thing in the entire world.

His hand moved to the bottom of her shirt, moving his hand up her hips to her waist which was riding the shirt up as well.

"You're beautiful." He stated, looking back up to Millie. She smiled, putting a hand on the side of his face and connecting their lips.

They kissed for a while, until Finn moved his hand down to her shorts, unbuttoning them. Millie slowly backed away from him, raising her eyebrows and smiling. He put his hands in the air, and shrugged.

"Hey, I'm just helping you out." He said, Millie laughing. She took them off and changed into pajama shorts, connecting their lips once again.

"No funny business. I'm opening my door." She said, pulling away.

"Wait, just one more." He said back, the two smiling at each other with heart eyes. They connected their lips again, but it didn't last long until they heard the doorknob opening.

The two backed away from each other and saw Ava opening the door.

"Mom said door open!! Also, I'm bored." Ava said, Finn smiling at her. Millie sighed.

"It's late, we can hang out tomorrow. Yeah?" She asked, Ava nodding.

"Okay, goodnight Millie. Goodnight Finn," she said, making kissing noises and running back to her room. They both laughed.

"You never told me your little sister was funnier than you." Finn joked, getting a nudge in the arm from Millie.

"Shut up right now."

Finn got all of his bags into the spare bedroom, and let out a sigh. He wants Kelley to like him, he just needs to try a little harder.

It was about 10:30 now, and Millie had gone to sleep from jet lag. Finn walked downstairs and saw Kelley sitting in the living room, on her phone.

"Hi Mrs. Brown." Finn said, Kelley looking up from her phone. She slightly smiled at him.

"Hello Finn. Is there something you need?" She asked, eyeing him.

"Uh, yeah actually I wanted to talk to you." Finn said, sitting down on the couch across from her. She seemed surprised at his words and actions, but intrigued nonetheless.

"Millie had explained to me that you are very overprotective of her, and I can tell. But there's nothing to worry about, I promise you. I care for your daughter more than anything, and I would never do anything to hurt her." Finn explained, Kelley nodding.

"I uh, I just don't want us to start out on the wrong foot. I just want to let you know that I truly care for Millie, and I always will." He said, Kelley staring at him.

"I think it was very kind of you to come and talk to me. Millie, she's just...been through a lot. And I don't want anything else bad to happen to her." She explained, and Finn nodded.

"I understand. But like I said, I really do care about Millie a lot. She's changed me for the better. And I honestly couldn't imagine a life where she's not in it." Finn explained, Kelley nodding.

"Okay, I understand. I might have been a little too harsh, and I apologize. I can tell you love her." She said, Finn's eyes widening and shooting to the stairway in case Millie was there, then back to Kelley. His face immediately reddened, shaking his head.

"What? No, I-

"Finn, I can tell. You don't have to admit it to her or even yourself, but that's fine. I can tell you care a great deal about her, and if it makes Millie happy then so be it. I apologize for being so harsh." She said, giving Finn a genuine smile. He smiled back, the two nodding at each other.

"Okay, thank you for talking. Goodnight Mrs. Brown." Finn said, standing up and walking back to the doorway.

"Call me Kelley. Goodnight, Finn."
