Finns house

A little time jump

"Finn, I don't know." I said, as they pulled up to Finns house. In all honesty, I was nervous about meeting his family. I have been getting to know Finn, and I really like him. He is very nice. Very different from Jacob, to say the least.

"It's okay, they will love you Mill." Finn said, giving me a reassuring smile before getting out of the car, and opening the trunk to get their bags. I took a breath and got out of the car, grabbing the bag that Finn gave me.

We walked up to the front door, and I took in the exterior details of the house. It was very big on the outside, a garage, and it looks like it is two floors tall. Maybe a basement.

The door opened, Finn letting me in first. I smiled and walked in, Finn closing the door behind us. I looked around the house, seeing that it was very open and spacious. It also has a brown theme.

"Finn! It's so nice to see you honey," I heard a voice say, walking up to us with a big smile. Finn hugged her, and she turned to me and gave me a hug.

"Millie, I've heard so much about you!" She said, giving me a big smile.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Wolfhard." I said excitedly, feeling Finn smile from beside me.

"Call me Mary. Eric! Come down and say hi." Mary said, walking off. I turned over to Finn, and he grinned at me.

"You're cute around my mom." He said, making me smile and look down.

"I'm nervous. I just want them to like me." I said, and immediately heard footsteps coming back our way. It was Finns dad.

"Millie, Finn. It's nice to see you." Eric said, bringing Finn in a hug, also giving me a hug afterwards. He seems nice.

"It's nice to meet you." I said, and he smiled and nodded.

"I hope you feel like home here. Honestly, we love having you here. Finns finally got a girl," Eric said, Mary walking back in and scolding him. I look up to Finn, his cheeks red.

"Okay dad, we are going upstairs." Finn said, leading me to the staircase. I laughed, hearing Mary laugh as well.

"Make him show you around Millie!" Mary stated as we got to the top of the stairs. I smiled, and looked at the hallway in front of me. There were picture frames on the walls, and down the hall were four doors.

"The first one is the bathroom, the second room is nicks, third door is the office, and the one on the far left is mine." Finn said, and I nodded. I walked towards it, opening the door and looking inside.

He had a navy blue as the wall color, his bedsheets and comforter black. He had a dark colored carpet, and a black desk to top off the depression in this room.

"Finn, this is depressing." Millie said, laughing. She heard him laugh, and closed the door behind them. She turned to the door closed, and back up to him. He looked back at her, and saw a hint of nerves in her eyes.

"You want it open?" He asked in a low voice. She looked up to him, catching his soft eyes.

All Millie could think about was Jacob. And Jacobs room, and Jacobs door. So yes, for her it is a little scary to be back in this position again.

Finn on the other hand, doesn't know a lot about it. He has no idea what's running through her head right now, but he has a little bit of a guess.

"Um, yeah. We're going back down anyway." Millie said, turning to set her bag down on his bed, Finn opening the door again. He followed her actions, and she looked up to him.

"So where can I put my clothes? I say I get the closet and you get the drawers." Millie said, Finn smiling at her.

She's so beautiful.

"I thought you were wearing my clothes during break." Finn said, Millie laughing a bit.

"No. Maybe sometimes but if we do something then I brought clothes. So deal?" She asked him. He looked down to her eyes, and nodded.

"Yeah, sure. Deal." He said, and Millie happily smiled and started talking to him about how she's organizing her clothes. Finn just sat and listened, he loves listening to her voice.

"So where's Nick?" Millie asked, turning to Finn. He looked up at her. He noticed she was wearing black joggers and one of his grey sweatshirts. He doesn't blame her, it was a long trip here.

"He's not in yet. He should be getting in around-

Finn was cut off by his mom, yelling from the bottom of the stairs.

"Nick is here! Come have Millie meet him!" She yelled, making Millie laugh.

"I love your laugh." Finn said, Millie looking to him. She smiled and took his hands, standing him up. She now had to look up to him.

"Well I think you're cute." Millie said, grinning. She let go of his hands and walked out of the room and down the stairs, Finn following in her footsteps. Nick and his girlfriend were downstairs in the kitchen, talking to Finns parents. Millie immediately saw Nick, noticing how physically similar him and Finn are to each other. They met eyes, and Nick raised his eyebrows.

"Nick, this is Millie. Mill, Nick." Finn said awkwardly, Millie smiling at Nick as he gave her a small wave.

"Finn, how did you manage to get yourself a girl this pretty." Nick asked, making Millie and Finns parents laugh.

"Shut up, Nick," Finn said, sitting down at one of the chairs at the island. Millie sat next to him, looking up to see a brunette.

"Hi, I'm Chloe." She said, putting her arm around Nick.

"Hey, I'm Millie." Millie replied back. She looked over to Nick again, who was looking at Finn, who was looking at Nick. Some weird looks they were giving each other.

"So Millie, I notice your accent! You're from England right?" Mary asked, as she was cleaning dishes.

"Yes, I'm from England. I've lived there my whole life, but I decided to move to a different country for college. It's very nice in Canada." Millie explained, as they took interest in her words.

"That must be very nice. Anything different here than it is in England?" She asked, intrigued. Mary and Eric were told by Finn that her family didn't want to pay for a flight back, which they were upset about. If it were Finn, they would absolutely pay the money to see their son. Mary thought it would be good for the family to have Millie over, start to form a bond. Also, so she isn't alone in her dorm all break. She can tell how much Finn adores her.

"Just some little details, but it is very informal here. No offense, but it is just very very formal where I grew up, so it's odd to not greet people in a certain way anymore," she said, laughing a bit. Finn listened to her words, surprised because he himself hasn't even heard her talk about England. She doesn't talk about it a lot, and he doesn't want to make her talk about it.

"I get it. Canada is a very welcoming country. Especially with these two boys," Mary said, hugging both Nick and Finn. Finn rolled his eyes, making Millie laugh a bit.

——

Millie got out of the shower, brushing her hair. They have spent a lot of time with his family today, honestly wearing Millie out. She doesn't talk that much, but she wants to make a good impression with his family.

She put on a pair of shorts and a big T-shirt of Finns, and walked back into his room. He was already laying in his bed, just on his phone. He already showered, his hair just a little bit damp.

Finn looked up to her, noticing how pretty she is. He's never actually seen her in pajamas. She smiled at him, and sat down on the bed next to him. He set down his phone and turned to her, locking eyes with her.

"So what do you think?" Finn asked, Millie shrugging.

"They're really nice. I'm glad they like me." She said, Finn nodding.

"I knew they would like you." He said, looking down and taking one of her hands, playing with her fingers. Millie watched as he did, smiling at his touch. Although, she can't help but they are moving very very fast. I mean, he kissed her two weeks ago. Now she's staying at his house for the break?

But she doesn't even mind. As long as she's with him, that's all that matters. Finn himself feels the same.

He really really likes her. He loves the way she talks, the way she smiles and laughs. He looked over to the clock, which read 11:36.

"Did you wanna try and sleep? Or we can watch Netflix." Finn asked, looking back over to Millie.

"Can we do both?" She asked. Finn nodded, and grabbed the remote to turn on the tv, and turning off his bed lamp. He looked over to the door, which was open. He doesn't mind that it's open when he's alone, but it's both him and Millie. Anyone can walk and see them, even if he's at the end of the hallway.

"You want the door open or closed?" He asked her, her heart skipping a beat and looking over to him. A million thoughts ran through her head.

It's just Finn, Millie. Nothing is going to happen. Look at the way he's been treating you.

But I can't forget about Jacob.

"You can close it." Millie said softly, avoiding Finns gaze a second longer. Finn was confused but obliged, quietly closing the door, and laying back on the bed as Millie put on the office.

The two laid together and watched it for a while, but the door was on Finns mind still. Not the door itself, but Millies reaction to it. He turned his body to lay on its side, facing her. She did the same.

"Can I ask a question?" He asked, Millie nodding. She was lost in his eyes, which were dilated from the dark room.

"Why did you want the door open earlier?" Finn asked, Millie letting out a sigh. She felt his hand slowly move up and place itself on her cheek, his thumb stroking her smooth face.

"I shouldn't still get anxious about it, but Jacob stuff. It still gets to me sometimes." Millie said, Finn nodding.

"You know I would never do that stuff to you, right?" Finn asked her, waiting for an answer. She hesitated for a second before she answered, hoping Finn didn't see it; but he did.

"Yeah. Yeah I know." Millie said, looking back in his eyes. She furrowed her eyebrows a little, when she saw a glimpse of hurt in his eyes.

Obviously, Finn is hurt. He wants her to trust him. But that hesitation says otherwise.

"Goodnight, Mill. Sleep well." He said, grinning at her. She smiled back as she felt tiny kisses all over her forehead, trailing down to her nose. She giggled, Finns stomach filling with butterflies at the sound of her giggling.

I'm in deep.

He places one more kiss on her nose, and let's go of her.

"Goodnight Finn."
