Cabin

Hey guys!!

Finals week was hell for the group.

They finally had finished all of their finals, and had planned to go take a trip out to a cabin for one last weekend together before the summer.

"Millie, are you done?" Maddie asked, as Millie checked her phone.

"Yeah. He's coming in a couple minutes," Millie responded, getting the rest of her bags together.

Finn had let Millie and Maddie keep their stuff at his house for the time being so they don't have to lug everything to the cabin. Considering they have to take all of it back to England and America.

Finn and Millie have been on good terms since the after party. They are good with being just friends, and the group is thankful for that. They were getting annoyed with the tension in the air at all times.

Millie heard a knock in the door, opening it and looking up to Finn.

"Hey, come in," she said, opening the door for him as he walks in and looks around the room. He had packed everything up already, and is loading his car with all of Millie and maddies things.

The three grab all of their bags and after a lot of struggling, get everything fit into Finn's car.

"Your csr needs to be bigger," Millie complained, sitting down in the passenger seat.

"I'm so sorry that my car isn't a good size for you and all of your random belongings," he joked, Millie hitting him in the arm.

"Okay, so we can drop all this off then head to the cabin. It's about an hour drive to the cabin." Finn said, Maddie and Millie both nodding.

"You're sure your mom is fine with all of our stuff being at your house? I feel bad," Millie said, and Finn nodded.

"She loves you, she made a bunch of room in the garage." Finn said, Millie's heart skipping a beat.

Finn's mom loves me? We aren't together anymore, I wouldn't think she still even gave me a glance.

Finn noticed her thinking, and decided to leave it at that. Finn's mom was happy to hear about Millie after everything Finn told her. They're teenagers, they make mistakes. Millie brings out the best in him and she can tell. Time will tell.

Finn has been good with being friends with Millie. There's always the lingering thought in the back of his head about his romantic feelings for her, but he has to brush them aside because it's done.

He's been trying to convince and convince himself, but somehow it gets harder every day to pretend that he doesn't love-

Like. Like her a lot. But being friends is the best option right now, and he will do what it takes.

"Thank god," Gaten said, jumping on the couch. The group had just arrived at the cabin, after the longest car ride of their life.

"Maddie and I will get the master bedroom," Jack said, as they headed towards the room on the main floor. Millie looked around, and saw people heading to rooms upstairs and in the basement. She didn't know who to share with.

Sadie noticed her uneasiness, and grabbed her hand.

"Let's find a room upstairs, we can share." Sadie said, as the two smiled and ran up the stairs.

"Finn, let's grab the basement," Caleb said, Finn stopping his stare at the girl going upstairs. He nodded and went downstairs, along with Noah and Gaten.

The basement was pretty big, with four single bedrooms all near each other. They weren't that big, but it didn't matter considering they were only in there to sleep.

Finn grabbed one of the middle rooms and threw his stuff on the bed, going back upstairs to look around the cabin.

"It's cool isn't it?" Noah asked, Finn turning to look at him. Finn nodded, walking over to the living room as Noah watched him.

"Stare too much and I'll think something different," Gaten whispered behind Noah, putting his hand on his shoulder before walking away. Noah's eyes widened in panic, looking at Gaten now walking away.

"What? Wait Gaten no!" Noah said, running off to find Gaten. Caleb was making his way upstairs to find Millie and Sadie. Well, specifically Sadie. He was planning on making a move this weekend. It has to be the perfect time though.

He walked up to the door and leaned in the doorway, seeing the two sitting there unpacking and chatting. He didn't notice Millie noticed till she spoke up.

"What are you staring at?" Millie asked, Caleb jumping and Sadie looking towards the doorway to see him standing there. She lightly smiled.

"What's up Caleb?" She asked, putting the last of her clothes in the drawers.

"Uh, we-

"Guys come on! I wanna go down and watch the sunset!" Maddie said, cutting Caleb off as they soon followed Maddie downstairs to grab everyone else.

"How far is the beach? Can we just walk there?" Finn asked Maddie, as she checked her Apple Maps.

"Yeah we can walk there but we have to leave asap," she said, motioning people to get up.

"Hey," Finn said, Millie watching him sit down next to her in the sand. She laid down a blanket for her to sit on, so she moved over a little to make room for him as well.

"Hey," she said, watching the sunset. He could tell her mind was somewhere else.

"What's up?" He asked, Millie knowing what he meant. She sighed, leaning back a little bit shifting the weight on her hands.

"I'm gonna miss it here during the summer. Like obviously I want to see my family but all of you are basically my family now. It's gonna be sad when I have to go, when you all are so close to each other." she said, Finn taking in her words.

"Yeah I understand that. But hey, you can always hang out with your highschool friends, and spend more enjoyable time with your family since you haven't seen them in so long. And you can always come back here for a little bit and see us." Finn responded, trying to cheer her up. She smiled and nodded, looking over to Finn.

"That is true." She said, locking her gaze with Finn. It went silent, a comfortable silence. She noticed the sun was hitting the side of his face, making his skin glow. His curls were wild, but she liked them like that. And he had a light smile engraved onto his lips.

His eyes were a lighter brown from the sun hitting them. She couldn't help but smile back at him, and his appearance. She quickly glanced down to his lips, breaking their eye contact, and then turned back to the water. Finn looked at her a little longer before turning back to the sunset.

She ended up laying down, letting out a sigh as she did. Finn grinned at the action, copying her.

"I wish Lilia was here. Both the girls are so lovestruck by Jack and Caleb they don't really want to hang out." Millie said, frowning. Finn looked over to the four, seeing Caleb and Sadie holding hands.

"Well don't you worry Millie, I'll make it fun for you." He said mischievously, making Millie furrow her eyebrows of suspicion and sitting up to look at him.

"What are you talking about?" She asked, as he got up and took her hand to help her up.

"Take off your shoes." He said, as he took off his as well. She ended up taking them off, and he grabbed her hand and led her to the water.

Once they reached the water she let go of his hand, and he started to walk into the water. She widened her eyes, shaking her head.

"No way I'm going in there. It's probably cold." She said, and Finn grinned.

"Come on, I'm making it fun for you." Finn said, Millie laughing. She looked down to her clothes, seeing she's wearing a random black tshirt and a pair of grey athletic shorts.

"I'm in my clothes." She said, crossing her arms. Finn shrugged.

"So am I. We brought more we can change into later." He said, trying to convince her. She sighed, rolling her eyes as she made her way into the water.

Finn made it to his waist, but Millie wouldn't go past her thighs.

"On second thought, I don't know if I should." She said, Finn sighing and walking up to her.

"Get on my back, you're going." He said, and Millie groaned. After a minute or two of convincing, she got on his back. He walked out to deeper water, around his ribs.

"Okay now get off," he said, and Millie shook her head.

"Nope." She said jokingly, Finn smiling.

"Alright, I guess I'll have to throw you off myself," he said, Millie's eyes immediately widening.

"Finn, no-

She yelled, but got cut off by Finn ducking under the water with her, and she immediately let go of him.

Finn came up from the water the same time as Millie, the two completely soaked. Their eyes met, and Finn shook his head like a dog as his curls went back into somewhat place. She laughed, shaking her head.

She looked out to the sunset, swimming a little farther to almost at her neck. Finn followed, seeing the sunset light up her face.

She's so beautiful.

On the sand, the group was watching them.

"That is literally adorable," Maddie said, as everyone watched Finn and Millie splash water at each other with the sunset behind them.

"Why are they not together? It doesn't make sense." Gaten said, Maddie shrugging.

"I don't think anyone knows the whole story. Not even Finn or Millie." Maddie said.

"Well this right here is some of the cutest stuff I've ever seen. They're outwardly flirting and thinking nothing of it," Sadie said, as Caleb turned to her.

Taking notes. Again.

"Well they need to either cut the shit or get together. It's annoying." Noah said, crossing his arms. The group turned to look at him, confused. Noah looked to see everyone staring at him, furrowing his eyebrows.

"What?" He asked, everyone shrugging.

"We know you have a crush on Finn, but that doesn't mean he can't have his little moments with Millie." Gaten said, everyone's eyes widening in shock.

"What?!" The entire group said, Noah's face immediately red and shaking his head.

"Gaten shut the fuck up you're so full of shit." Noah said, avoiding eye contact with all of them and going on his phone. They immediately forgot about what had happened when they heard Millie scream, all of them looking back over to the water.

They saw Finn hold up Millie, trying to throw her into the water but she held onto him and was trying to stop it from happening. But, it happened.

The group was walking back from the sunset after taking "Instagram worthy" pictures, and Finn and Millie were still drenched in their clothes. Millie had wrapped her blanket around her though, so she was warmer.

"What's the plan tonight?" Maddie asked, checking the time. It was now 9:30.

"I say we just play games and get drunk." Gaten suggested. Everyone quickly agreed on the idea, talking about what games to play when they got back.

Soon enough, everyone was sitting out on the porch on the outdoor couches scattered around. Sadie didn't leave Caleb's side, and Maddie and Jack had a couch.

Finn and Noah were on a couch, and Gaten and Millie had a couch next to theirs.

They were already pretty drunk, the group had taken shots inside.

Millie picked up the card from the pile, which was a two.

"It's pairs. You pick two people and-

"Yeah yeah I know I remember." She said, looking at all of the people in front of her. She scanned everyone, and noticed Noah was very red.

"Sadie and Caleb." She said. Everyone teased the two, and they left going inside. They all started to talk, Millie taking a sip of her drink and checking her phone.

She got up and walked inside to use the bathroom, leaving the rest out there to chat. Finn was drunk, but was able to handle himself. But he definitely wanted to get drunker.

"I'll be back," Finn said, heading to the kitchen. His head was pounding, so he was gonna grab some water to try and help. He grabbed a bottle out of the fridge, then closed it and turned around to see Millie walking back towards the kitchen to the porch. She stopped when she saw him, smiling.

"Hey, what are you doing?" she asked, walking over by him. He held up the water, and she nodded. It was silent for a second, until Millie smirked.

"Wanna take a shot?" She asked, Finn grinning back. She found two shot glasses and Finn grabbed their options for alcohol.

"Okay which one?" He asked, as they looked at the options.

"Pink Whitney for sure." Millie said, Finn agreeing. She poured them both the shots, and they both grabbed one. She turned to him, smiling and holding her shot glass up.

"To summer." Millie said, making Finn chuckle and grin.

"Summer." He said, clinking his shot glass with hers as they both downed it.

Millie started gagging, and Finn laughed at her.

"What!" Millie said, laughing from his laugh.

"You're funny," he said, continuing to laugh. The two were drunk off of their asses by now, making laughing at simple things easier to do.

They both were laughing so hard Millie fell to the ground, Finn following after her. The two laughed for a couple more minutes, before the door opened to Maddie and Jack watching them laugh.

"Get up fools, let's finish the game," Maddie joked, as they finished laughing and both clumsily got up and went back onto the porch.
