Around town
Millie woke up first, the sun hitting her eyelids. She furrowed her eyebrows and opened her eyes, squinting. She let out a deep breath, and turned around to see Finn fast asleep. Her thoughts began to run from last night.
The thought gave her butterflies, and she slightly smiled. The things this boy does.
She watched Finn again, who was sleeping on his stomach, his face filled with curls that fell onto it. The comforter was down to his waist, showing his bare back.
Millie looked down to her own figure, and realized she had nothing on except underwear she threw back on before she fell asleep. She could see Finns boxers sticking out from the comforter just a tiny bit. She was covered entirely up to her chest with the blanket, and sighed.
She loved last night, she really did. And she could tell Finn did as well. Throughout the entire thing, he asked her if she was okay. Jacob never did that for her.
She looked to the bottom of the bed and found her bra and shirt, which she quietly put back on, and looked for her shorts. She couldn't find them anywhere, so she took a pair of Finns black sweatpants and threw them on.
"What are you doing?" She heard Finn ask, which made her jump out of surprise. She looked over to him, turned towards her now, watching her.
"I was gonna go downstairs." Millie said, and Finn shook his head. Millie furrowed her eyebrows, but smiled when she saw Finns stretched out arms for her.
"No, we have to get up. It's already 11," Millie said, walking over to Finn and sitting on the side of the bed. Finn sighed, rubbing his eyes to wake up.
"Put on some clothes, I wanna go eat breakfast." Millie said, making Finn laugh.
"Fine. I'm not hungry though, I'm still full from last night." He said, getting up and grabbing his shirt. Millie didn't catch on until a couple seconds later, then smacking him on the arm.
"Ow!" He said, and Millie laughed and rolled her eyes.
"That wasn't funny." She said, as he got up to find some pants.
"It was really funny." Finn said, grabbing another pair of sweatpants and throwing them on.
"Not funny. Let's go," Millie said, as she opened the door for them to walk out.
The two made it into the kitchen, where Nick was just sitting, looking at his phone. He looked up to the two of them and back down to his phone, but did a double take on Millie.
"Finn, you're gonna have some explaining to do," Nick said, Finn furrowing his eyebrows. He looked over to Millie again, and widened his eyes. There was a trail of red and purple marks going from her jawline to the bottom of her neck, disappearing behind the shirt she was wearing.
Shit.
"We need to go upstairs now," Finn said, grabbing Millies hand and was about to turn around, but heard his mom call their names.
"Millie, Finn! You two slept in today." She said, walking into the kitchen. Millies eyes widened, realizing what it was that he was so worried about.
Well, this is going to be embarrassing.
The two turned back around, Finn smiling at his mom. His mom looked at the two, then immediately noticed Millies marks on her neck.
"Well now I know why," she said, lightly laughing.
"Mrs Wolfhard I am really sorry I honestly had no idea-
"It's okay, honey. Finn, behave next time." Mary said, making Finns jaw drop and furrow his eyebrows while Nick laughed at him.
"Shut up Nick," Finn said, Millie laughing as well.
The two ate breakfast and talked with Nick and Chloe, just casual talk. They didn't have anything planned today, but Finn wanted to take her out. He just hasn't asked yet.
Later Millie was in the shower, Finn sitting in his room, making the bed. He kept hearing Millies phone go off from the other side of the room, and he was getting a little pissed off. Finn sat down on the bed, but her phone buzzed again.
I don't want to snoop, but whoever is texting her I can just politely tell them to shut the fuck up.
He sighed and got up, picking up her phone, seeing that he can't see the notification because you needed to unlock the phone first to see it.
He heard the door open, Millie looking at him with her phone in his hand, Millie just in a towel, her hair wet and down.
"What are you doing?" She asked, walking up to him.
"You keep getting messages, it was kind of annoying me." Finn said, Millies eyes widening and quickly taking her phone from Finn's hand.
"It's nothing, I just keep getting spam texts from random numbers." She said, Finn nodding. He looked at her, the towel covering her chest and down. He looked at the marks from her neck, which actually trailed down all the way to her left boob.
"Those look cute on you." Finn said, seeing the red blush come into Millies cheeks.
"Stop it. Leave so I can change." She said, and Finn furrowed his eyebrows.
"First, it's my room. Second, it's nothing I haven't seen before." He said, making Millie roll her eyes. She smiled.
"You see me naked once and you're acting like we're married. Get out." She said, laughing. She pushed him out, and let a breath out. She immediately opens her phone, looking at the messages.
Why aren't you texting me back? What else do you have to do since you're not in England?
Cant wait to see you.
Millie just text me, I know we broke up for distance but we are going to the same college now.
I miss you
She sighed, running her hands through her hair. Why does he have to skip this now?
She ended up changing into black ripped wide legged jeans and a hoodie which she took from Finns closet, and then she opened the door to Finn waiting for her.
"Want to go out today?" He asked, Millie smiling. She nodded, Finn taking her hand in his.
"I'll show you around, places I used to hang out and stuff." Finn said, Millie nodding. He looked Millie up and down, and gave her a slight smile.
"You're beautiful."
_____
The two drove around downtown Vancouver, a smile on Millie's face. She hasn't been out much since she's been here besides on campus. It's beautiful and so much different here.
"Why so smiley?" Finn asked, eyes staying on the road.
"It's so pretty here. Way different than England." She said, staring out the window.
"I have a cool place to go," Finn said, Millie looking towards him smiling.
Around 20 minutes later, Finn pulled into the parking lot of a park.
"We're gonna be walking for a bit if that's okay," he said, and Millie nodded. He turned off the car and walked over to Millie's door to open it, making her smile.
They started to walk down the forest trails, and then Finn started to go off path.
"Is this safe?" She asked, and Finn chuckled.
"Yes, it's safe. Trust me." He said, holding out his hand. Millie took it, and he lead her down the hill where they soon enough came to a stop.
Millie looked up at what she was seeing, which was beautiful. It was a lake. But more than a lake; the water was a light blue, there were pine trees everywhere, and the mountains behind it were clearly visible. It was probably the prettiest part of nature she's ever seen.
Finn was staring at Millie, and how in awe she was of the place. He thinks she's beautiful. Every part of her.
"It's beautiful," she said, not taking her eyes off of the view in front of her. Finn hugged her from behind, placing a small kiss on her neck.
"You're beautiful." He said, making her blush. Her mind couldn't stop going back to last night. The amount of times he complimented her last night was uncountable.
The two sat down on the rocks and stared at the lake, just talking about life. They watched until the sun went down, and they ran back to the car.
"I wish it was warm enough to swim in," Millie said.
Finn agreed.
"Yeah, it's fun in the summer. You'll have to come." He said, placing his hand on top of hers. She smiled at him then looked out the window again.
Break with Finn feels like a dream.
