The man comes to my door;
It's half past four.
"What do you say?"
He makes it sound fun,
Like a swim or a run,
So I say yes.
But who could've guessed
That danger would come,
Nowhere to run
How did I get into this mess?
Sickness, abandonment, death.
Finally it's over,
I'm done with undercover,
Now I am safe.

Life goes on,
I am not the same,
The man is to blame.

Then he is back,
The man in black.
"What do you say?"
Blackmailing is evil,
A work of the devil.
I am forced to say yes
Sickness, abandonment, death.

He's here again
The lion has left its den.
"What do you say?"
It doesn't sound dangerous and I say yes
Here comes sickness, abandonment, death.
Why did I go?
How could I have known?
But finally I am safe again.

There's a knock on the door;
It's half past four.
"What do you say?"
This time I say no
I won't go.
I'm tired of being used
By the man with nothing to lose.
He still asks me again,
Offers me a grand, then ten.
I still say no
I won't go!
He eventually gives up
But I can't let my guard down.
I know he'll be back,
The man in black,
Hoping I'll say yes
Ready to bring sickness, abandonment,
Death.
