Arches her neck so expertly
Scales of amber glitter and shine
Tendons stretch and twist--
so graceful,
Awaiting the crackling zenith
Screaming against sheer time;
A maw of knives and spears
Blades honed by death--
so fierce,
As deliverance and pain
Through shining jaws to pierce;
From claw to withering wing
Ripples furl and wind--
so tight,
Ruby blood shrike rage
Of shadowed devouring night;
Release! The rising canvas flaps
Stretched from bone to tip--
so sudden,
Beast shifts from near to sky
Whipping tail and curling lip;
She arches her neck in wait
No prey and no design--
so strong,
Dominator, alleviator
Wound tighter than all of time;
Unleash! Torrents pour forth unhalted
Tongues of death, of light--
so pale,
Unending ripping waves
Behold her fury and might.
