She sits alone, in silence and in waiting...
For someone who can hear her heart's pulsating.
She seeks companionship, a listening ear,
Someone who'll hold her close, chase away her fear.
Though crowds may surround her, she feels alone,
Invisible, a shadow, not quite grown.
She longs for someone to see her inside,
Grasp what she's feeling, not just brush her aside.
But time drags on, and she remains alone,
A statue, fixed, unmoving, heart made of stone.
Yet still she hopes, keeps waiting, praying
For the one who'll hear her silence, the words she's not saying.
And as she waits, though long the nights may be,
Her heart holds fast, unbroken, wanting to be free.
For she knows, deep down, that somewhere out there,
A kindred soul will find her and proves that he cares.
So she waits, and though her heart may ache and cry,
She knows there's hope, that love will not pass her by.
For in the end, she knows that she will find
the one who hears her even when she's silent.
