What will it take for your apathy to become outrage?

You say you stand with us and yet you won’t fight with us and honestly that’s almost the same as not standing.

I get not having the courage, I get being scared, but everyone has some point where they become vocal about something and I just have to wonder,

What will it take for your apathy to become outrage?

Will it take a shooting inside your own school?

Inside the school across town?

Will it take your friends, your family, your teachers, people in your town being killed?

Will it take you realizing you have a mental illness and the blaming of mental illness becoming personal for you?

The truth is I don’t want to know what it will take because then it will be too late.

Just like it already is for the 17 lives lost in Parkland and the hundreds of other lives lost to gun violence this year.

Don’t let it be too late for others, change the course of fate due to gun violence by standing up and fighting now.

Let the answer to “What will it take for your apathy to become outrage?” be,

“I’m already there.”
