Chapter 31
I don't know why the hell I am behaving like a creep, but I can't stop myself from silently admiring her as she lounges on the seat soaking in some sun.
She is quite simple, nothing like the girls I have met in my life. I never had any history with girls, as Jessica was the only girl whom I have dated. Most of the girls' friends I had were because of Jessica as she has a big group of friends. She always loved being surrounded by people who liked and followed her. However, none of the girls were like Lina, she is just different from them... actually she is different from everyone.
She still has that child-like innocence inside her eyes, yet there is a certain matureness in her.
My attention again turns to Lina who is looking extremely relaxed as she lays on her back facing the sun, while a satisfied smile is resting on her lip. Normally I would have hated to disturb her, but since revenge is on my mind, I see this as a perfect opportunity for payback.
Silently, I walk towards her. For a moment, I just gaze her but before I drop the idea of revenge becoming the victim of her innocent face, I lightly tap her knee. She opens her eyes and looks at me slightly squinting her eyes.
Confusion spreads over her features as she glances at me, however, before she can ask me anything I slip my one arm under her knees and the other behind her back and pick her up.
"What are you doing?" She moves her arm around my neck as she clutches me tightly.
"I am going to do something which will make you scream," I smirk when I notice a tinge of pink spreading over her face.
Ah, not so innocent I see.
Deciding to continue playing with her since she is the one who started this by teasing me earlier. Leaning my face down, I run my nose on the side of her face and bite my smile when I feel her gasp as her body goes completely still in my arms.
"Hold your breath," Moving my lips near to her ear, I whisper.
Then without any warning, I throw her in the water as she screams like crazy. Slapping my thighs I laugh as she comes up for air and splitters water.
She is fuming in anger when her eyes land over me, which makes me laugh even more.
"They say revenge is sweet, but I think revenge is salty." I point at her as she holds the corner of the boat and wipes water from her face.
"You are an ass." She glares at me while trying to climb the boat.
Taking a deep breath, I control my laughter as holding her hand I pull her up.
"You like this ass and made him your friend." I press my lips together pretending to look innocent.
She mumbles something under her breath and walks around me.
But when I turn around a pair of hands harshly push me making me lose my balance as I fall into the water. Quickly, I swim upwards and gasps for air. My eyes raise up exactly the moment when I watch Lina jumping in the water while shouting what seems like the word cannonball.
Taking a deep, I flip and swim underwater to find her swimming towards me. We both come up for air at the same time, and we smile stupidly at each other.
"Although, I did plan for snorkeling, this is was never on my mind." I disclose my plan, "But I think this is more fun than that."
Holding the corner of the boat, I keep myself afloat as with the other hand I keep Lina above the water by gripping her waist.
"Then let's go and explore the underwater world." She abruptly kisses my cheek completely taking me by surprise while my heart does a crazy flip inside my chest, and then winking at me she dives underwater.
As soon as I come out of shock, I follow her on her little underwater adventure.
One thing is for sure, I wouldn't ever feel bored with this girl as she makes every moment so interesting because of her unpredictability.
And honestly when I am with her I almost forget my every other worry. As there is something about her that makes calms the storm inside... especially she brought peace and acceptance in my heart along with a hope which I had almost given up.

"This is the most fun I had ever in my life." Lina signs while sprawled on the floor of the boat as a constant smile is plastered is fixed on her face. "I will never forget this day."
"Thank you for giving me such a beautiful memory to cherish." She sits up, glancing at me with a grateful look.
I don't know why but instead of making me happy, her words bring a new kind of fear inside my heart... that soon she will not be here with me and all my time with her will be just part of my memory. It is true that she will have to go back to her home, but still, the thought of not seeing her daily stirs a strange ache in my heart.
"Hey, the day has not ended yet." I look away trying to swallow the uneasiness that her words have brought. "I have to show you some other place which is really special to me." Even though it was not part of my plan, but I don't want this day to end so soon. Moreover, I don't why I want to show her something which meant, and maybe still, means so much to me.
The place where I haven't stepped after my accident... the place which was a part of my dream which I had... that was fulfilled only to be taken away from me... the place which would have been a witness of my future... my home.
Perhaps I need her support to visit the place which is a symbol of my shattered dreams.

My heartbeat gets slightly faster as I think about going to my house again which I thought to be the biggest accomplishment in my life. I have put all my savings and hard-earned money to buy that small house, which I always envision as my home.
I bought this house soon after I have proposed to Jessica because I couldn't wait to take the next step with her and move in together with her. However, when I showed her this place she didn't like it saying that it is small and a little far away from the town.
Don't get me wrong I love my town and its people, but sometimes you crave a little privacy and that's what I wanted for myself and for us. I wanted my home to be somewhere peaceful and where I could make new memories of my own.
But sometimes everything happens for good, because if we had moved in together then it would have hurt me, even more, when she had left me after my accident.
"I don't know why I am taking you there, but I just felt like showing you that place." I shrug nonchalantly, while nervousness is clawing my heart as this place is another strong reminder of my dreams which remained unfulfilled.
"I can feel this place matters to you, so I don't care why you are taking me there, as I am just happy that you are sharing something with me which means so much to you." She signs while her smile calms my anxiety.
After hiring the cab, I tell the address to the driver then settling back in my seat I roll down the window and silently gaze outside it.
Lina touches my hand gingerly which makes me shift my eyes to her.
"Can you please roll up the window? I am cold." She signs, and I notice since we have entered the cab she is only using sign language to communicate with me.
My heart warms at her gesture because if she thinks that I haven't noticed how she is trying to make me feel normal then she is wrong. On many occasions, I have noticed when we are together and there are other people as well she never lets me feel any lesser than anyone else.
Smiling at her, I tap my watch reminding her I can easily understand whatever she will say. Then lifting my hand, I lightly touch her lips silently telling her that I can read her words too.
Rolling up the window, my arm instinctually goes around her shoulders as I pull her towards my side.
I was afraid that she will move away from me, but I almost sigh in relief when she settles beside me and keeps her head on my shoulder. Somewhere I wanted to hold her because I need to draw some strength from her presence to visit the ruins of my unfulfilled dreams.
