The days never change; the world stays the same
To have lived another life, locked away down memory lane
And although time runs away with who I am, every second; such an unfair game
I'll live what's left; I've loved my best, so I'll bear this lover's pain

To gaze at the stars every night; gloating their static presence
Envying the thought of an unattainable life in which you stayed; loving its essence
Bold, brave hearts we were; now dark dreams and cold nights declare your absence
But, our time together was so much fun; I could only walk, but you made me run, so, if it is, I'll accept this penance

The visits to where you lay, always ends with returning to where you should have been
I had dreamed that one day; I'd see you wear my ring
And on days when the sky is dark, and the lights are off; I take a stroll back to where it all began
So even if I'm far from okay, hope comes with each new day as the line between life and death grows thin

Each morning brings a smile to my face; I know not what is ahead
I remember when I kissed your lips, and three precious words were said
I gave you my heart; I'm glad you didn't return it but treasured it instead
And, I've loved my best, so I'll live the rest until I'm dead
