Stars plumiting to their ascension

By: Fathers Beress T. chipuka

Prisoners
They walk without chains nor hand cuffs, but are still prisoners
They were never put on trial
But were found guilty beyond their denial

Though not surrounded by four walls
They are still imprisoned
Locked within financial entrapment
Children far away from their mother's sustenance

Exiled into steel and concrete jungles
Prescribed daily does of misery and told its a necessity
Taught lies in truth's disguise
Wing's chained by debt they shall not rise
Or so the jailers thought

But even though imprisoned in a murderous system
that still fails to beat them
They smile as their final screams fade like bad dreams
For even though though they were imprisoned
They were not prisoners
Yet they can never escape death
