They should have helped you,
To prepare for the storm that ripped through everything you knew,
After they warned you,
Of what was to come.

They should have protected you,
When the shards of your life cut so deep, that you felt like nothing could take away the pain,
After they warned you,
And it came anyway.

They should have been more thoughtful,
Regarding what was to come,
To not only warn you but to be around for the fallout.
Because warning you,
Didn't protect you at all.
