Entry 27: 道 Distance

「So close yet so far,

  we ebb and flow like the tide.

 Swaying back and forth,

 in an untouchable dance,

 between this point, you and I.」

I tucked my notebook into my bag. 

The mountains rolled by slowly, a blur 

of green and gray. Still a ways to go.

I leaned against the cool bus window.

I am on my way to visit my hometown.

Without Asami. It has been a long time,

since I left her alone. But I have to go.

Something I have to face alone I told her.

My hometown lay beyond the mountains,

tucked snugly in a forested valley. Since 

their passing, I haven't gone back. But 

something is calling me back. Why?
