Entry 5: 秋 Autumn

「Dying light of day,

Swept away by the cool breeze.

The wandering leaves,

an ornate orange collage.

Tranquil, before winter wakes.」

I brought my jacket closer to me. It's cold.

I tucked my hands away, dropping my book.

I stared out, reveling my rooftop view.

I was alone, at the top of my own world.

Over studying for exams, as most people are,

I am back on the rooftop, writing, thinking.

Unlike the seasons, I am independent of change.

The thought brought something close to content.

Then I heard a noise. Something was behind me.

Curious I stood up to investigate the noise.

Behind the other side of the pillar, was a girl.

She gazed, her dark eyes burning into my soul.
