"Oh hey, Shosh!" Vin yells from across the court yard. Next to him stood a girl I didn't recognize.

I run up to him giving him the biggest hug I could. "Hey Vin, sorry I'm late. We started projects in class today and I just couldn't seem to get out of there."

"It's fine. It's fine," he assures, wide eyed. "So Shosh, look who came to visit!"

"You are?" I ask, confused as I look at the strange girl. She was thin and pale. Her hair was long and lifeless hanging over her shoulders.

"Stop playing! You know who this is. Farrah, my girlfriend." Vin explains neevously. "Farrah, this is Shosh. She's like my best friend here." He introduces us and pushes us together for an awkward hug.

My whole world crumbles down around me. Girlfriend? How could this possibly be? He was with me. I was the one that woke up next to him every morning.

"Oh, right. Silly me," I laugh even though I really have no clue."I've been in class since early this morning. Vin didn't tell me you were coming to visit."

"He didn't know!" She beams as she links her arm with his. "I wanted to surprise him. It's our anniversary!"

"Oh congrats!" I smile widely, "well, I better get going. I have dinner plans."

"Oh, Shosh, I figured you would want..." Vin starts to say.

"See you later then." I wave them off as I head towards my dorm room.

"I told you that he was a complete ass." My roommate slash best friend, Leyla, says from outside of the shower.

"Can we not do the whole I told you so thing, please?" I sob as I lean up against the wall of the shower hugging a bottle of shampoo.

"Okay," she sighs. "I'm gonna run and buy some bottles of wine and rent a movie. Are you going to be okay while I'm gone?"

"Yes." I sniffle.

A few minutes after she's gone I climb out of the shower. I dry myself off, slip into pair of black VS panties and oversized black tank top. "Black like my heart," I grumble as I look at myself in the mirror. I still had remnents of my eyeliner smudged around my swollen, bloodshot eyes and my hair was knotted. "What a fucking mess," I groan.

As I walk back into my room I look at my phone. Dozens and dozens of missed calls and texts from Vin filled the screen. I switch it off and climb into bed but just as I get comfortable someone starts to knock on my door. The knocking soon turned into banging so I get up to answer it.

Standing there outside my door was Vin. I go to slam it but he catches the door and pushes his way in. "Why haven't you answered your phone?" He yells as he closes the door behind him.

"Get the hell out of my room," I growl as I point towards my door.

"You're being ridiculous, Shoshana." He had the nerve to say.

"Oh, I'm being ridiculous? You just introduced me to your fucking girlfriend! Last I heard, I was your girlfriend!" I was livid and practically shaking with anger.

"It's fine, Shosh. It's just a big misunderstanding." He urges as he goes to hug me.

"Get out of my room. Right now." I push away.

"Fine," he says. His whole demeanor going cold. "Don't say I didn't try to fix things."

"Don't worry. I won't." I assure him as he walks out the door.
