Chapter 2
Chapter 2
"Morning." Gina greeted from the stove as I went to sit next to Frigg who was busy texting someone.
"Morning, Gina," I said back and yawned. Looking around the kitchen, I noted that it was an old antique type of kitchen and the smells that came from the stove were amazing.
"Hope, you had a good night's rest? Frigg said she couldn't sleep." Gina exclaimed, turning around with her spatula in her hand. She wore a blue fifty's styled dress that went to her knees with a white apron, he hair in a high bun.
"Yeah, well I was awoken by wolves howling in the dead of night, so of course I was scared!" Frigg explained, finally done with her phone.
"Ah! It's nothing..." Gina said and waved her spatula in the air.
"Here are wolves?" I swallowed hard, a little scared of the new information given to me. It was too early for me to function properly and they woke me up with news of wolves, "I must have been more tired than thought. I slept like a baby last night." I said nervously. It was the truth, I haven't heard the howling wolves Frigg spoke of.
"That's good to hear. And don't worry, those wolves are far from here. Never heard of the wolves being sighted this side of the woods nor anywhere near my cabin." She said and took the pan off the stove and placing it on the table, "I made sure of that." She winked which confused me. How could she make sure of that, they were wild animals after all? She must be pulling my leg. Blushing I looked at the table full of food; there were eggs, toast, jams and fruits. Quite a feast. "Please, take anything you want," Gina said and started to butter her toast.
"Thank you." I and Frigg said at the same time making us laugh.
"So, what are your girlies going to do today?" Gina asked us and drank some of her coffee. Her lips touching the white mug and blowing the steam away from the hot bitter liquid before taking a sip.
"You know, exploring..." Frigg answered with a bright smile.
"Oh! You must go through all the little shops. They always have nice things this time of the year and also to the town hall for some history. Oh, and in three days the big festival will begin and we all have tickets." She said and took her last sip of coffee before standing up, "Well girlies I must leave you all, I am going to the lodge here in Fortbridge. I must meet with someone there but ou two must have a lovely day. Oh, and if you are searching for me, I will be at the lodge. It is just out of town, you'll see the board. Addio!" Gina said and went upstairs.
"So, what are we going to do?" I asked Frigg as I ate my fruits.
"Well, I was thinking of going to a few shops, then grab lunch at a local cafe and then make our last stop at the Moontide."
"Moontide?" I asked, curious about why she would name it by its name.
"That was where my parents met, my mother was getting some books to read when he walked in and collided with her." She said with a big smile and went on eating her toast.

I and Frigg went from shop to shop and let me tell you it was fun. There were antique shops for furniture, clothing and arts. Other's were art galleries, bakeries, musical shops and even a strange voodoo shop. I and Frigg still couldn't get to all of them, you could see why there were so many tourists there.
The sun was starting to set by late afternoon, and we still had to go to Moontide for Frigg, hence where we were heading then.
It was a cute little shop that had a light feeling to it. Its walls were painted white and its windows were filled with fairy lights with a big neon sign that said Moontide. We stopped in front of the shop as Frigg looked mesmerized at it; this was a big thing for her. She spoke of coming to this place to see where her parents lived and how they met, constantly swooning repeatedly, "they bumped into each other and it was like love at first sight.". This was a big moment for her.
Walking inside a little bell rings, signalling the owners that a customer has entered. Inside was just as cute, little tables shattered here and there and strange things and books placed around it, making a mini library with a shop on the left side. Frigg was ecstatic, running from place to place; I, on the other hand, walked slowly around the shop, looking at all the strange ornaments.
Some paintings looked older than this town, with some having water damage. It was paintings of towns, people and animals, every one different but perfectly done. There were herbs and flowers that I dragged my finger through smelling them, feeling their texture on my fingers and placing some in my mini cart to buy. Walking to the back of the room I hear Frigg screaming my name to come and look what she had found. Running to her side I saw that she had a necklace in her hand, "It is like the one my mother has." She exclaimed and asked me to help her put it on. It was a beautiful blue Agate necklace with a golden chain.
"It looks beautiful on you, Frigg." I stated truthfully to her as her eyes sparkled brighter.
Looking into the box of jewellery one caught my eye immediately. It was a simple, yet delicate necklace. Just a plain little white stone on a silver chain. It looked almost otherworldly, like the moon was shrunk and placed on a necklace.
"Interesting chose you got there." Someone said from behind me, making me jump into the air and letting the necklace fall out of my hand, "Sorry didn't mean to give you such a fright my dear." The voice laughed again.
"It's no problem," I said with a smile and turned around, picking up the necklace too. In front of me stood a weirdly clothed woman with striking green eyes. She wore a brown long skirt with pockets and a white top, with her brown hair in a messy bun. Grey streaks could be seen peeking out at some places.
"It's beautiful though..." she said and took the necklace gently out of my hands, looking at it like it was some sort of jewel made for a queen.
"It is." I agreed, and she motioned for me to turn around. She placed the necklace around my neck and clipped it together.
"Thank you, it is lovely..." I said and turned around, playing with the necklace.
"Oh my..." she gasped and my eyes snapped to hers.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Oh, uh nothing, dear. You just reminded me of someone." She said sadly, "But it was made for you." She reassured me as she walked me to the counter.
"This book is really good," she said with the brownish book in her hand, "You have a lot of herbs here, guess you want to try out some of those herbal balms from the book?" she asked with a smile, while I smiled back and nodded my head.
"Oh, wait here." She exclaimed and wobbled her way to the herbal racks and I started to laugh at her actions.
Looking through the racks on the counter I hear a bowl brake at my side.
Looking to my right I see an Indian woman staring straight at me but in a weird way. It was like she was looking at me, yet wasn't too. She finally snapped out of her daze and cursed, bending down and picking up the glass pieces. Moving forward to help her, my attempt futile as it rather scared and caused her to give a little shriek.
"Oh, looks like I am a little skittish today." She laughed nervously like she was trying to cover up some mistake, "Please don't worry about this."
"Here you go, oh." The older lady said and placed a purple flower on the counter, "I see you have met Lily." She motioned to the Indian woman on the ground picking up the last glass pieces. Standing up I saw that the purple flower was the same from those in Gina's garden.
"What type of flower is this, ma'am?" I asked taking the purple flower in my hand.
"Please call me Dalia, dear and these flowers are called Wolfsbane. On page 100 you'd see a balm with it in, it is really nice you should try it."
"Thank you, Dalia." I thanked her and called out for Frigg, "Oh I almost forgot the necklace..."
"No no, please keep it, no charge."
"I can't do that..."
"Darling please, I think it belongs to you." She smiled softly and looked back at the Indian woman who was still staring at me, "Right Lily?" she asked her and Lily just nodded her head up and down.
"Ready to go?" Frigg finally showed up and placed her items on the counter and paid as well, "I love your necklace, suits you." She said as we walked out of the store as a shiny black Jeep speeded past us. My hair whipped into my face and a laughed left my lips, as I heard a curse from Frigg. She was softly cussing the speeding driver.
"Thank you, I guess it suits me? I wonder where those people were off to in such a hurry? It is not safe driving in a busy street like this at such a pace." I said and touched the necklace with my hand, feeling rather protective of it for some reasons.
"Only assholes. Wow! It glows blue." She said and looked at the necklace carefully. Blue? But it was white
"What?" I exclaimed and looked at it and true to her words, the necklace did have a blue glow to it. It was quite mystical, "It was supposed to be white, and well it was white?" I said wary, twirling the pendant in my hand.
"Maybe it's the light or one of those, uh-um you remember those moon rings we had that changed different colours, depending on your mood, maybe it's like that?" she explained.
"Yeah maybe," I said unsure as we went back to Gina's cabin.
