Chapter 3: Midnight Thoughts
You could have sworn Nile was there again in more casual clothes. No, something was different this time, his hair was curlier and his har streak was blue. Well, it could be wonderland magic at it again. Instant hair dye! Or something like that.
You didn't think you'd get away with trying to ignore him again. You angrily strutted up to him, his face was a bit surprised considering there was this rando looking pissed coming up to him. You grabbed onto his collar. "What's your deal, Nile? First you tell me to get out of your sight and here you are again."
"Uh, hold on-"his voice was softer but you weren't focussing on that.
You pushed him harshly in the chest "why can't you start making sense? Are you a goldfish?"
"I'm not Nile." He managed to finish himself this time. Your response was to raise an eyebrow. "Noah, that's my name. Yours is...?" He looked at you for an answer.
"You're not going to call me Alice?"
He chuckled. "No. That's just your role. Nile and I are the mad hatter but we don't go around by that name, that would just e confusing. it's only fair you're treated by yours too."
You told him. How many times have you said your name today?
"Well, it's good to meet you (y/n)."
You felt your heart get struck by an arrow. Gosh his soft smile is attractive and to actually have someone who cared was a huge relief. It calmed you down to a point you wanted to hang around Noah not that you could, it seems he has other plans.
His expression quickly changed like he just remembered something and looked down out his watch. "I'm late!" He was running off. "Good bye, (y/n)! I'll meet you again later." That would be nice.
You sighed, maybe it was time to find a hotel. Or would they call it an inn? Either way, there was a sign with a bed on it, wouldn't hurt to go inside to see if it was what you thought. Upon entering the person at the reception perked up. "Oh, you're here! A room for one?" That saved you from asking at least. You nodded and he lead the way after grabbing a key off the wall.
'Is this going to be free...?' You thought, maybe the power of your role would help get you through everything. The room looked nice, a combination of warm pastel pink, a bit of purple but mainly white. "Thank you." You said as they left.

Alice had something on her kind, her brothers could tell by how she ate her Lucky Charms. An aggressive scoop and loud munching. "What's got your panties in a bunch?" Nile didn't really care, it was just a form of teasing her.
"Excuse you!" She protested.
"No fighting, please" Noah said by the stove, serving up his bolognese for himself then sitting at the table, joining the two.
"You forgot your toppings." Nile put a handful of M&Ms and maple syrup over the top, snickering.
Noah glared and shoved it to the side. He wasn't going to eat it now, he settled with an apple from the fruit bowl in the middle of the table. "Pest." He called his brother, a simple insult he knew he'd get away with. Now there was only the sound of crunching. Maybe now was the time to mention her. "Did any of you meet (y/n) today?"
Nile must have been over the whole incident from before. "Of course." He was getting cocky leaning back in his chair. "She happened to be quite fond of me." Noah knew he was lying but chose not to mention it, what was the point anyway?
"I'm still lost at who it is." Alice had finished her cereal, a milk moustache remained.
"You should know. Don't you remember sitting at the tree with her and sharing a bit of the soup Noah made for you?" Nile saw it all. "Also you've got a bit of something, here." He pointed to the top of his lip as a signal. She burst up from her chair, whipping it with her hand and on impulse pushed him. Since he was leaning on the chair it was easy for her to knock him down. "Fuck!" He didn't usually swear but landing on his back was a sudden pain. "What was that for?" Is his own eyes he could do no wrong. She didn't respond, running up to her room upset they had the balls to talk about you and mention the leftovers on her face.
Noah helped Nile get up before making his way to Alice's room, she probably just needed a few words of comfort. He walked into her room after softly knocking on the door, evading any plushies she had on the floor. She was cocooned under her blanket so he sat on her bed beside her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Out." She spoke to him, wanting to be left alone.
He ignored her. "Tell me whats wrong."
She couldn't bottle anything else. "I hate her! She's trying to steal my role, i've had this role my entire life and she's stealing it!"
Noah was surprised to hear that. "She isn't here to replace you. You're still Alice." A white lie. "She only likes to be called (y/n)."
"Really?" She peeked through her blanket.
He nodded. "Let's meet her again tomorrow, clean up the air." Then he left to let her think about it. He would like to get ready to sleep anyway. He brushed his teeth, removed his glasses and got changed into pyjamas. A usual bedtime routine. Laying down he had a soft expression whilst thinking back about you from earlier that day, then he imagined tomorrow, how perfect the day could be.
