Darius felt what seemed to be grass upon his back, though he felt many things at the moment, among them was vertigo and a light headache.

Darius slowly opened his eyes, only to be blinded by sunlight, causing him to immediately shut his eyes.

When he finally regained himself, Darius opened his eyes to see a blue sky, mild clouds, and a beautiful set of sun rays.

When Darius lifted himself up, he checked his surroundings, and saw before him a sight most wonderful.

Mushrooms the size of men.

Groups of Dodos wearing top hats and monocles.

Trees and flowers with faces.

It was.....

WONDERLAND

Darius felt himself become dizzy from the shock, to see Alice's delusions as real, it was both spectacular and confusing.

In the midst of his amazement, Darius felt a nudge on his leg.

"For a doctor, you have no sense of time!"

Darius looked down, and saw a rabbit in a waistcoat and top hat, holding a stopwatch.

"Your a rabbit." Darius said confused.

"Yes, and you are a human. Now come! We are most late!" The rabbit replied.

The rabbit ran ahead of Darius into a pathway leading to a dense jungle of mushrooms.

After standing for a moment in confusion, Darius followed the rabbit into the jungle.

As Darius followed the Rabbit, he stopped for a thought.

"Wait, this must be a dream! Yes! A dream caused by my exhausting work on Alice's case. This is all a figment of my imagination." Claimed Darius

The Rabbit, after giving Darius a puzzled look, approached him and gave him a firm strike to the leg.

"Ah!" Reacted Darius.

"Quite a realistic reaction to a dream, yes? Anyway, we are disastrously late! Come! Come!" The Rabbit replied

With a bit more belief in his current situation, Darius continued to follow the Rabbit.

The Rabbit led Darius to what appeared to be a local meeting, as many different characters were all meeting in one place.

"Yes, Yes. The meeting has not started yet, thankfully. Hurry, now! Take your seat! take your seat!" The Rabbit ordered Darius.

Darius took a seat between the Rabbit and a muscular man holding a large hammer.

The man was the only other human there, placing a small bit of trust in Darius to approach him.

"May I inquire what we are meeting for sir?" Darius asked the man.

"Oh, some minor odds and ends is all. Hopefully we can sort out those darn squids!" Replied the man.

"Squids?"

"Yes! Blasted tentacled conmen they are! I have fixed their shipwreck homes countless times over, and they have yet to give me a penny!"

"Yes, well, squids are slippery devils."

"Ah yes they are! On a side note, have my card, I can fix anything if the pay is good!"

Darius took the man's card.

It read: "Carpenter's repair shop! We can fix anything!"

Darius placed the card in his jacket pocket as the meeting began.

In the center of the new area was a large mushroom, perfect for a platform.

A large caterpillar, smoking a pipe, came to the center of the mushroom, along with a woman with crimson red hair, a man wearing a perfectly tailored top hat, and......

"My god! Alice!" Thought Darius.

Alice was among the group atop the mushroom.

Confusion, a common feeling in his current surroundings, took Darius.

"This meeting of Wonderland is now in session, everyone please settle, please settle." The Caterpillar said

"We are hear to discuss the most curious matter of Wonderland's safety from earth."

"We ought to plug the Rabbit Hole, yeah?" A walrus said.

"Wouldn't work! No way! No how!" Shouted a talking rose in response.

"Miss Rose has a point, we can't just shut off Wonderland from earth! It's not possible!" A human sized Rabbit said.

The group appeared to be be divided among themselves.

As the group vigorously debated, Alice saw Darius among them, and signaled him to her.

Darius came up to the base of the mushroom.

"Hello doctor, I wish to say thank you for cushioning my fall, it is a most hard landing when coming here." Alice said.

"Yes, Alice, it was." Darius replied.

"Is this the man you spoke of, Alice?" The red haired woman said from behind Alice.

"Why yes my queen, this is Dr. Darius, I believe he may be like me,"

"Like you? That would bring the number to three."

"Three? What ever do you mean?" Darius said.

"Well, if you must know, a rare sort of human can enter Wonderland, you could not have come here if you were not that sort." The Red haired woman explained

"You believe I possess such a ability?"

"Yes, Alice sensed it when you held her hand."

Darius thought of the concept, and made what little sense of it he could.

"I sensed it. You and I are the same Darius." Said Alice as she held Darius' hand.

"Who was the third then?" Asked Darius.

"My Ace." Replied the Red Haired woman.

"The Ace!" Yelled everyone in the group, save a few.

"The Ace?" Darius asked.

"Yes, as you may have learned, I am the Queen of Hearts, and The Ace was my champion."

"How so?"

"Many years ago, The King of Hearts, the cruel ruler of Wonderland and my lousy husband, was challenged to a duel by a human. The King was slain in the duel, and by Wonderland code, I took the throne."

"You didn't despise the one who slew your husband?"

"He was a mean sort, never treated me with respect."

"I see. So this human became your champion?"

"Yes, The Ace, champion of Wonderland, the past ace before him was a hundred years prior."

"Where is he now?"

The Queen's face took a sad expression.

"He disappeared as he was protecting Wonderland."

"I'm sorry."

The three all became quiet.

"So Wonderland is in danger?" Asked Darius.

"Quite so." The Caterpillar said as he approached Darius

"Wonderland can only be entered by humans with the ability to do so, if a different way to enter Wonderland was created, it would disrupt the balance, destroying both worlds."

"So someone is attempting to enter Wonderland through a entrance they created." Darius replied.

"Yes, and if you cannot stop them, our worlds are doomed." The Caterpillar replied.

The Caterpillar blew a huff of smoke into Darius' face that soon covered his entire body.

"Find the door Darius, and close it. Only then can you prevent the destruction of our worlds." The Caterpillar said in a fading voice.

As the smoke cleared, Darius found himself in his office, back at Lambeth.
