In your light hearted levity
You blurted forth in brevity
and I nearly bit my tongue
to hold back a laugh begun
quite innocently

Your simple subtle quips
that barely touch your lips
Can float by most un-attuned
to your manner unassuming
so free and quite quickly

You are mad as any fool
parading your words so cool
trying to evoke my reaction
and blaming me with the infraction
knowing well what you meant to do

still in my abject repose
I stay near to watch the show
for in each gentle, monumental shock
I find no reason to turn and walk
for you are the best clown I know.
