WARNING *super angsty*

Kou was very obviously depressed over the loss of Mitsuba Sousuke. It happened twice and he wasn't okay. Most of his nights consisted of staring at the pictures he took and crying until he fell asleep. Life wasn't fair. None of this was fair. He wanted so bad to see Mitsuba again. He wished with all of his heart for him. Only then did he realize what he felt for Mitsuba was all too real. This wasn't friendship that he wanted.

He felt like his soulmate was taken away from him. He didn't understand fully why his heart was aching all of this time. He felt like that second chance had been wasted. It was all his fault. Kou felt like it was all his fault. It was as if his whole existence lacked meaning. He fell asleep finally at some ungodly hour and didn't even wake up for school on time.

"Hey wake up." A voice that sounded familiar said as Kou did as said and woke up. "Sousuke..?"
"Yes Kou?"
"You're alive.. oh my god.."
"I'm not alive Kou. I just felt like I needed to help you. You've been looking kind of rough lately."
"Then how are you here? Why are you here?" Kou said smiling and suddenly reaching out to hold him.
"I'm here because I have unfinished business with you specifically." Mitsuba said moving into Kou's embrace. He couldn't help it. Mitsuba was given another chance as well, but when the criteria was met, he had to go. That was the deal he made when he pleaded with the heavens to let him back.

"You're here for me?" Kou said not wanting to let go. "I am solely for you. You're the only one who's going to be able to hear, touch, or see me, but I don't think that's terrible though." He smiled. "I don't care Sousuke.. I missed you so much. I never thought I was going to see you again. I think I lov-" Mitsuba covered up Kou's mouth and shook his head. "Shh.. don't say it right now. I get it." The pink haired male smiled sweetly.

"As long as you know I guess.." Kou said super embarrassed. "I know.. I feel the same way. That's why I came back. After I'm done, I'll wait for you elsewhere you know? I wouldn't mind being reborn with you.." Mitsuba said a bit teary eyed, because he knew this wasn't going to be forever until after it ended. He wanted Kou to live his life though. He wanted Kou to be happy in a world without him.

"So you skipping school or what?" Mitsuba said smiling back at him. "I think I can miss one day to hang out with you." Kou said not letting Mitsuba go. "That's fair, but only one day okay? You're not that smart, you can't skip class a lot okay dummy?" The pink haired teen said sticking his tongue out. "Uh huh- I get it." Kou said sticking his tongue out and smiling too.

"Well let's do something fun today." Kou said grabbing his hand and dragging him all around with Mitsuba's old camera. They took pictures, went to the park and just reminisced. "So.. about that time you took a picture of me.." Kou said as he was interrupted. "Shoosh- yeah yeah, you're that something important to me okay? It's kinda embarrassing to mention Kou.." Mitsuba said pouting. "Hey can I try something more embarrassing?" Kou said blushing a little.

Mitsuba sighed and nodded. "I guess so.. no one can see me anyway." He said shrugging. Kou didn't hesitate. He cupped Mitsuba's cheeks and kissed his lips softly. That was his first kiss. That was Mitsuba's first kiss as well. They were both flustered and all red. Kou pulled away and smiled again. "I know you don't want me to say it but I can't help it, Sousuke I really do love you."

Before Mitsuba could even stop him or let him be he just smiled his sweetest and started to tear up. He looked like he was sparkling in the sunlight. "Kou.. you really are an idiot, but yeah I- I love you too.." Mitsuba said leaning into his embrace and holding onto him tight.

When Kou finally pulled away Mitsuba was gone once more, but he wasn't as sad for some reason. It took him a long time and a few years to understand, but one day Kou realized what that all meant. The reason Mitsuba didn't want him to say 'I love you' like that was because that's what both of them were yearning for.

That was the last of Mitsuba Sousuke's wishes.

He wanted to be loved and to love.
