After many years Mitsuba had been watching and waiting for a certain blonde exorcist to be reborn. It had been decades, although he wasn't lonely. Mitsuba felt like he had been with Kou the whole time. He felt like he was always holding his hand when bad things happened. Now was finally the time though.

Kou Minamoto and Sousuke Mitsuba were soulmates. When your soulmate dies, so does a little part of you they say. When Mitsuba died, Kou stopped dreaming. When Kou died Mitsuba had stopped taking pictures. It was just that simple. It was just an endless cycle that neither of them remembered until the end.

Decades later after so many things had happened a blonde boy with blue eyes and the brightest little smile was born. About a year later another boy was born. He was probably the prettiest baby born that millennium.

Sousuke grew up only wanting and craving affection. He was starved of it. The pink haired male moved schools to avoid bullies. He was too girly, too rude, and too weird they would say. Kou grew up pretty happy. He was a bit weird, but he had genuinely good friends that didn't care that he wasn't like the others.

It all started during Kou's third year of middle school. He was just sitting in the schoolyard watching his friend's soccer practice when a girl or guy..? He didn't really know started taking pictures around the yard. His curiosity peaked and that's where he had finally met his soulmate. He tapped the pink haired boy's shoulder and watched as he tensed up and covered his face.

"If you want to hit me.. just let me put my camera up please." Mitsuba said obviously startled, but then again, this guy wasn't the usual bully. Maybe he was a grade above him? "Huh.. no no- I wasn't going to hit you. I just wanted to know what you were taking pictures of." Kou said flashing him a sweet smile, which only confused Sousuke to no avail. Who was this guy with the dorky smile and pretty blue eyes?

"Um.. well.. just some things I like. I also had to take some pictures of the gardening club earlier. Hey- what's your name Senpai?" Mitsuba said hoping he could confide in this guy. He wanted a real friend more then anyone else in the world and maybe this guy was what he had been wishing for all his life. "Oh- I'm Kou Minamoto! I'm a third year and that's cool. There's a lot of cute girls in the gardening club huh?" Kou said thinking about Nene, although he had been rejected by her a countless amount of times.

"Mmm.. I dunno. There aren't any girls here that I like." He said jealous for some reason. "I'm Sousuke Mitsuba.. I'm a second year. This might be really forward.. but please be my.. my friend.." he said covering up his face with his sleeve. Kou's heart skipped a beat. How could he say no to him? He grabbed his hands and nodded. "Yeah we can be friends. You should teach me about cameras and stuff and in return I'll mmm.. I dunno I guess I'll be your friend." Kou said smiling. Mitsuba nodded and blushed as he pulled his hands away slowly.

For the next few months the two had become really close. Kou was a high school student now, so Mitsuba and him met at lunch and after school. There were some things that made Kou worry. Mitsuba would meet up with him bruised and hurt sometimes and would always lie about it.
"I'm serious Sousuke.. Who the hell is hurting you? I'll freaking kick their ass!" Kou said clenching his fists. He couldn't take this. Who was bullying 'his' Sousuke? Who had the heart to? Mitsuba was cute, sort of helpless and maybe he could be a little rude or mean, but he didn't deserve this.

"No one.. I fell today and hit a pole." He said obviously lying. The truth was, someone in Mitsuba's class found out he had a crush on Kou and was blackmailing him. "Okay Sousuke, but you better not be lying." Kou said patting his head and getting up. Lunch had ended, but Kou was going to follow his best friend back secretly. He just needed to help him.

Mitsuba was shoved into a supply closet by the guy tormenting him. Kou was about to teach some little brat a lesson. He didn't care if Teru yelled at him for getting suspended or anything. He ran to the closet, but it was locked. "Hey bastard open up!" Kou yelled as the door just wouldn't budge. "K- Kou..?" Mitsuba whispered as the guy blackmailing him got the brilliant idea to start touching Mitsuba.

"If he doesn't go away soon, I'm going to show him how much of a little whore you are Mitsuba." The guy said sliding his hand up his shirt and taking it off. In that moment Mitsuba felt defeated. How could someone as perfect as Kou ever want to be even friends with him? The pink haired teen started to cry. What he wanted most was for Kou to hold him in his embrace and tell him that it was okay.

He wanted Kou to make it go away. He wanted Kou to tell him he was doing good. He wanted Kou to notice how much he admired him, but most of all he wanted Kou to make it all stop. He didn't care anymore. "Kou! Help me!" He yelled as tears ran down his cheeks.

The guy was pissed and pulled Mitsuba's pants down. "You like that huh faggot?" He said as the door got kicked in. "Sousuke- I'm going to kill him!" Kou lost his temper and was beating the hell out of the guy who did this. "For every damn tear I see fall from his face is another bruise I'm gonna give you!" Kou said dragging him out of the closet. Teru was going to kill him. There was a crowd now cheering for Kou.

Mitsuba watched and wasn't even upset anymore. A lot of people would be scared or freaked out, but how could he be scared when his most special person was saving him? He smiled, dried his tears, and put his clothes back on. Sousuke was running on pure adrenaline now. He felt like he should probably stop Kou.

He got up and pulled him away. "Kou- Stop it!" Mitsuba said as the teachers started to intervene. "But.. Sousuke.. he.." and before Kou could even try to justify himself the pink haired teen was already kissing him. The crowd cheered and Kou was suspended for a week, but it was worth it.
