//In which Mitsuba meets another Minamoto

MITSUBA POV
It was weird at first, but it seems like the world always had a funny way of working. It had been decades, maybe. I lost track of time forever ago. It was weird and kind of heartbreaking watching all of your friends grow up, especially Kou. I was happy and smiled when Kou graduated, although it kind of hurt. He used to come by, but stopped after at some point. Maybe the wondering of what happened to him was the worst, but I couldn't leave the school grounds of course.

It was years later, I was watching all of the new middle schoolers line up and saw a boy that looked just like him. If I was correct it was probably or definitely a Minamoto. I was tempted to approach him, but he found me first.

"Hey apparition! Hold it right there!" The blonde teen said carrying Teru's sword. Oh boy this must've been Teru's kid, but he reminded me so much of Kou, it kinda hurt. "Are you Sousuke Mitsuba?" He asked me putting the sword down and suddenly hugging me. "Huh!? I mean y- yeah and who are you?" I said kinda caught off guard.

NORMAL POV
"I'm Sousuke Minamoto! I'm an exorcist in training and.. I guess I'm named after you. I've been wanting to meet you since I was a little kid." He said smiling proudly and happily. Mitsuba on the other hand started to tear up. So this was Kou's kid and he named him after Mitsuba. "Oh.. really? And your dad is Kou?" the pink haired male asked not sure how to feel, but he was happy in a way. "Nope- Kou is my uncle. My dad died before I was born, but.. I live with uncle Kou and he named me and all." Sousuke said grabbing Mitsuba's hand.

"Hey I wanna talk to you some more though." The blonde said giggling and bringing him to the roof. Mitsuba was really happy and feeling nostalgic now. "Well what do you want to talk about? You better not be a perv like your uncle-" he said sticking his tongue out. "Pfft I'm not you girly looking ghost. I was just gonna say I liked your photos and stuff, there's a few framed in the house." The blonde said looking back at him. Mitsuba was kind of touched.

"So what happened to you? You gotta be special if my uncle named me after you."

"Well- we were classmates and then I died. Then he found me, kinda like you did just now and tried to help me move on. Some bad stuff happened and I'm pretty sure the original me is long gone. I'm not even the real Sousuke Mitsuba, but Kou was my best friend for years and years. He still is. I'm sure he had his hands full with you and all." Mitsuba said smiling and pinching Sousuke's cheek.

"Hey! I'm not a handful. Although I kind of suck at everything but exorcising.." Sousuke said sighing. "That's how your dad was or so Kou told me. Pfft- I bet Kou is a great house mom." Mitsuba said laughing. "Mmm.. he is good at cooking and stuff like that." He smiled. "Oh! I have something for you." the blonde said digging in his backpack and handed him a container with flan in it. "I heard it's your favorite. Uncle Kou made it. He probably knew I was gonna come find you." Sousuke smiled and handed it to Mitsuba, who was suddenly crying.

"Hey what's wrong..? Isn't this your favorite?" Sousuke said confused as Mitsuba pulled him into a hug. "I just miss Kou.. and I didn't think he still thought of me is all.." Mitsuba said holding onto the teen as Sousuke kind of understood the feeling of loss a bit too well.

"It's okay Mitsuba.. I'll be here for now. I'm sure uncle Kou sent me here for you." He said smiling and looking back at the pink haired male."I might not be Kou.. but I'm sure I'll make a good best friend too." He smiled happily as Mitsuba nodded and sighed. It was the same damn smile that could beat out the sun in brightness.

"Yeah I'm sure you'll make a good best friend. Now come on, you need to go make some living ones too!" The pink haired male dragged him along and let him be. It was like history was repeating itself. In that moment Mitsuba realized that even though he wasn't alive, not everything ended.
