Chapter One

Raven awoke to the smell of... well, she didn't really know how to describe it. It was a strange aroma, but not an unpleasant one. She could vaguely identify one as the smell of meat. On Azarath, everyone mostly ate fruits and vegetables, but there were rare occasions where they would have meat as well.

Raven dragged herself out of bed, deciding to investigate this strange smell. She found herself in Diana's kitchen, the Amazon herself using some sort of cooking device. Diana spotted her immediately. "Hi Raven," she greeted.

Raven waved. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"Cooking," Diana answered, to which Raven tilted her head in confusion. "I know, these mortal instruments take some getting used to. Have a seat."

Raven obliged, sitting in one of the four chairs. Diana set a plate down in front of her. "What is this?"

Diana smiled at her naivety. "Breakfast," she answered. "Bacon, eggs, and toast. Sorry I'm not much of a cooker..."

"It looks delicious," Raven said honestly, her stomach rumbling.

Diana grinned fondly at her. "Dig in Little One."

Raven immediately did as she said. "Thank you, Diana."

Diana smiled. "You are welcome, little one." Her expression turned serious. "We have many things to talk about. Like your identity."

"My identity?" asked Raven.

Diana nodded. "While I am in costume, the people address me as Wonder Woman. But when I am not wearing my armor, I am simply Diana Prince. It's important that no one knows who I really am. And as my protégé, you need a name in and out of costume."

Raven thought about this. "Well, my mom's last name was Roth and I think she wanted to name me Rachel." She did. But the monks of Azarath saw her as a bad omen and named her Raven instead. "So how about I'm Rachel Roth when I'm not helping you?"

Diana nodded. "Sounds good to me. And you want to be called Raven while you are working with me?"

"Yup."

OoOoOo

Okay, training with Diana was not easy.

The Amazon trained her, pushed her hard. Raven was a naturally unfit child, so the training was grueling. Still, she could feel her muscles slowly building up. And she had a large array of weapons at her disposal that she was quickly learning to use.

Raven worked hard. Even when Diana gave her breaks, she pushed herself until she was on the verge of collapsing. She found herself growing closer to the princess, admiring her. Unlike anyone she had ever met, Diana wasn't afraid to express how proud she was of Raven. The Amazon cared for her in a way no one ever had before.

She was thoroughly ashamed to admit it, but she preferred Diana to her own mother. Where her mother was distant and cold, Diana was warm and inviting. She was also a very affectionate woman.

Still, she was afraid. Raven still couldn't bring herself to tell Diana the truth about her heritage. She was scared that if she found out, the Amazon would abandon her.

OoOoOo

"I have to go to what?"

Diana rolled her eyes playfully. "School," she answered. "Hera forbid I give you the chance to get an education."

Raven's lips formed a thin line. "If you hadn't noticed, my skin is almost gray and my eyes are purple," she muttered sarcastically. "What do you think the teachers and students will say about that?"

Diana smirked. "Honey, I have it all taken care of." Suddenly, the doorbell rang. "In fact, there she is now." She went to answer the door and when she came back another woman was with her.

The woman had black hair and blue eyes like Diana, but that was where the similarities ended. The woman's skin was paler and she had a mischievous look in her eyes. The woman smiled at her. "You must be Raven," she greeted. "I'm Zatanna."

Raven regarded the woman blankly. "You're the League magician," she acknowledged.

Zatanna snickered. "Very observant," she commented. She handed Diana a necklace with a purple gem in the middle. "Here you go, Di."

Diana took the necklace. "Thanks, Zee." She turned to Raven. "Here, put this on."

Raven did as she was told, but nothing happened. "Was that supposed to do something?"

Zatanna smirked. "Look in the mirror honey."

Raven walked into the bathroom and nearly gasped. Her black hair was longer with a lot more body and shine to it, her eyes were now a sapphire blue, and her skin was no a dark Mediterranean tan. All in all, she looked like a mini Diana.

"How come she looks the same?" she heard Diana ask as she reentered the room.

"She put the necklace on in front of us," Zatanna explained. "So she'll still look like herself, but only to you and I. Everyone else will see her as someone who closely resembles you; we can say she's your niece or something."

Diana nodded. "Thank you, Zatanna."

Zatanna winked. "Don't mention it, Di. Well, I'm off. I got a big show tonight. In fact, you two should come. I promise, it'll be a night to remember." With one final smirk, she made her leave.

"She likes you."

Diana blinked and looked at the girl. "What?"

Raven looked up at her. "Zatanna," she responded. "She finds you attractive." She had told the woman about her empathetic abilities a little after they first met. In fact, they had worked to improve them.

Diana blushed lightly and shook her head. "Let's get ready for the show tonight," she suggested.

OoOoOo

Surprisingly (or maybe not) Zatanna's show was amazing. Even Raven, who was a sorceress herself, was extremely impressed. Zatanna's magic had a sort of charm to it, something that pulled you in. She actually ended up enjoying it greatly.

By the time they got home, Raven was extremely tired, so Diana tucked her into bed. "Are you and Zatanna going to date?" she asked.

Diana, once again, blushed. "No," she answered. "Zatanna is a great friend, but I'm afraid by heart belongs to someone else."

"Who?"

Diana laughed and pulled the blanket to Raven's chin. "None of your concern," she responded affectionately. "Good night, Raven."

"Good night, Diana."

OoOoOo

So, yeah... Diana is bi guys (obviously, I mean she comes from an island of all women).
