Chapter 6 : Brothers

Walking along the streets with a person that I barely know is quite awkward. But I think I should feel fine because I'm not a woman here. Namjoon probably thinks that I'm a guy because he is not taking things a little uncomfortable, unlike me.

"So where are you heading?" I ask, trying to start a decent conversation.

I need something to distract me from what just happened earlier. Those witches are horrendous, I hope other men didn't experience the same thing.

Although it's up to them if they want to go all the way, but those girls shouldn't invite someone over just because they need a toy to play with.

"I'm going to a party." He smiles, making me smile like an idiot too. "How about you? You seem like you got out from the sorority down there." There is hesitation with his words.

"Yeah..." I started and looked down on my feet while walking. "They were a bit terrifying. I didn't know they would do something like that."

Well, now I know why Jungkook has a phobia with women. I thought it was just a ridiculous thing he has and that he was just unlucky to have some type of psychological illness when it comes to women but then I realized that his phobia is reasonable.

"They always do that to a new guy they met. Sorry for asking."

"No, it's okay." I immediately shake both of the palms in front of him and he only gives me a small smile.

"Do you want to go to the party?" He asks, changing the awkward topic. My eyes instantly shimmers because of his words.

"Sure," I said, hiding the excitement that was building up inside of me.

"I'll introduce you to my brothers." He adds, and I almost jumped because of the adrenaline rushing throughout my whole body.

When he said brothers, he meant his friends right? I can't believe that even though horrible things happened earlier, the things that I still want to happen are slowly happening right now.

After a few minutes of walking, we arrived at a big house and there are a lot of party-goers. The people here might be studying from the nearest university here, and I don't go there. My parents decided that I should learn how to be independent, that's why when I was about to enter college, they sent me far away from here.

I don't usually go to college parties, I'm always stuck in my dorm room studying, reading or watching movies on my laptop. I still don't have close friends there.

I don't like approaching people first, I feel embarrassed when I do it.

"Hey Deonne, are you okay?" Namjoon wakes me up from my thoughts.

"Yeah, let's go," I told him and the both of us entered the house. The speakers are booming loud, the lights are turning to bright colors or sometimes darker shades. People are packed inside the living room and I guess someone is making a show over there.

I just trailed behind Namjoon, people are looking at us, but they are probably astonished by Namjoon and not me. When we reached the second floor of the house, Namjoon and I entered the balcony, making me a little nervous.

I know I shouldn't be, they won't be doing something wrong with me because I'm a guy. I'm one of them, for now.

Namjoon walked outside the balcony and five men are seating on chairs.

Wow, I can't believe I'm coming in contact with Jungkook's ethereal friends.

Indeed, birds of the same feather flock together.

When the five of them noticed that we came in, they all smiled at Namjoon and me.

"Hey, Deonne right?" Once I heard my fake name, I turned around to see who called me. It's Taehyung.

"Yeah, I didn't know I'll see you here." I timidly smiled.

"Me too," Taehyung says.

"You know each other?" Namjoon asked.

"I met him at the café I'm working at earlier," Taehyung informs all of them. Namjoon takes a seat next to the guy with wide shoulders.

"Deonne, this is Seokjin." Namjoon points at the guy next to him. "Yoongi." The guy with a skin tone that is white as sugar.

"That's Jimin..." He is pertaining to the guy that exactly came inside the balcony from the doorway with a huge glass of beer in his hand. I also recognized him as the guy that Jungkook smashed an empty bottle on his head. "... and Hoseok." Lastly, a guy with the brightest smile around here looks at me.

"It's nice to meet you all." Is all I managed to say. It's a bit flustering seeing such handsome men in front of me.

There are only six chairs here, and all were occupied. If I'm dressed as a woman right now, will they offer me a seat?

They look like they would.

I just unconsciously sat on the floor and they looked at me. "What?" I asked as soon as I recognized that pairs of eyes were looking at me. I made sure my voice sounds deeper, men can recognize their race easily. If I do something wrong here, I'm caught.

"Here, take my seat." Hoseok offers as he stands up. I was about to accept his chair, but then I remembered that I should act as a man.

"No, it's okay. I don't mind sitting on the floor." I smiled.

"You sure?" Hoseok asks and I nod.

After that, the rest of them started talking about things that I can't relate to. I was expecting that they would talk about women around their campus or about their girlfriends because that is what men usually gossip about.

Instead, they were goofing around, talking about nonsensical stuffs or sometimes topics that quite make sense, like animals.

Yep, they were just talking about animals earlier.

I sometimes join them when I have something to say with their topics but I usually just shut my mouth when they are making fun of each other. When one of them makes a funny remark, of course, I would laugh along with them.

In the middle of their conversation, Jimin went downstairs to grab drinks and he even asked me if I want a can of beer and I was immediately about to say no, but men usually drinks so I just nodded my head at him.

Later on, when Jimin returned, he gave each one of us a can of beer. At first, I struggled at opening it, but I successfully opened it, and it was a relief. I'm a guy here, it's inappropriate to ask one of them to open my can just because I can't.

We clink our cans together and they all took a sip with their drinks while I slowly tested it with just the tip of my tongue.

I don't like it.

When they were not looking, I was about to pour at least half of my beer down the ground from this balcony, but then someone called my attention. "Deonne."

I quickly looked at them with a flustered face. "Can you tell us more about you? You know, we can all become... brothers." Namjoon speaks.

There's no way that it will happen. I'm a woman, and it's quite embarrassing to pretend in front of them that I'm a guy, it feels like I'm fooling them.

"Do you live here?" Seokjin asks.

"Yeah, just a couple of meters away from here," I answered.

"I haven't seen you around our campus though." Yoongi butts in.

"Oh, I study in Seattle," I inform them and they all nod their heads.

"Who is that girl Jungkook was telling us about?" My heart thumped louder when I heard Jimin ask that question.

"Why are you asking?" Hoseok answered another question at him.

"I heard that girl studies in Seattle too." Jimin answers.

"Oh, Jungkook's neighbor." Seokjin joins in.

Wait, are they talking about me? Does Jungkook tell stories about me to his friends?

"What's her name again?" Taehyung asks.

"Deanna." Yoongi reminds them and they all remembered how I placed a huge Hannah Montana poster on my window that made Jungkook collapsed.

"Do you perhaps know her?" Namjoon asked me and all their head were turned to look at me, ready to hear my question

"Yeah." It is all I managed to say before they start ranting about that girl named Deanna because of what I did to Jungkook the other day, that girl which is me.
