Chapter 43 : Some Guy

Scrambling on my messy bed, I woke up at the sound of my annoying digital alarm clock that I haven't heard for months, four months to be exact.

With messy hair, I sit on my bed and looked at the bed next to mine before sighing.

I still don't have a roommate, great. I feel like this room is cursed and it's because of me. I've only had one roommate before, her name was Clara. She was nice to me until she found herself a boyfriend and a cooler friend causing her to switch dorms.

At least I have more space, never needed her anyway.

My alarm clock rings at four in the morning because the line at the girl's bathroom is extremely long, so I tend to wake up earlier than five or six.

I grabbed my towel and washing kit along with my unisex clothes. I got used to wearing comfortable clothes rather than the ones I used to wear in my classes.

Fortunately, like what I always see every morning at four, the bathroom is desolated. I chose the cubicle at the very end and started to open the heater.

I never missed Vancouver this much and I've been here for only just a day. What more if I spent months here?

I do miss that place, but I have to move on and accept that everything will never be in good condition if I came back with an undecided mind and persisting heart.

After a quick shower, I changed into layered clothes with a hoodie and a pair of jeans as the outer layer. I grabbed my bag and checked if everything necessary is in it before locking out my dorm and going to my first class today, Women In Art.

"Open your books to page seventy-four..." Our professor instructed. The lesson for today in this subject is the history of female painters and why women are mostly a subject for art.

Just like how responsible I am as a student, I always sit at the back row for me to hide my phone that I secretly use in class. I scrolled through my feed and stumbled upon a twitter photo that Hoseok tweeted.

It's a photo of the seven of them wearing glasses like they're acting as smart people with the caption 'First Day Today!'. I didn't hesitate to click the heart below before scrolling again.

Jungkook will do great, I believe in him. Knowing that guy, I think he must be happy by now because of the fact that he can finally have a normal life. He can go to a real university like how he always wanted.

My fingers stopped swiping when a message from our group chat popped.

Jimin: How is your class, baby boy?

Yoongi: It's fine.

Jimin: 凸(>皿<)凸

Yoongi: ♡^▽^♡

Taehyung: Don't you have classes?

Hoseok: I have, I just don't care.

Taehyung : Same. *\(^o^)/*

Yoongi: Same (2)

Jimin: Same (3)

Jin: Same (4)

Jungkook: Stop spamming my notifs or I'm going to block you all.

Jimin: Ooh... *acts scared*

Yoongi: We know you're seeing this @Deonne.

I'm busy learning unlike you.

Jin: I highly doubt that considering that you just replied.

Whatever.

Taehyung: Where's Namjoon?

Hoseok: He is the only person in this group chat who is actually focusing on his lessons.

"Ms. Foster?" I immediately slid my phone back inside the pocket of my hoodie before looking up to our professor.

"Yes, sir?"

"We were just talking about some female painters that we love, care to share who is your favorite one in the list?" He asked. I thought of only one name in my head and that's what I told him.

"Alice Neel," I blurted out.

"Interesting, please continue." He gestures.

"I, uhm, I personally love her self portrait painting." I bit my lower lip for a second while squeezing my brain. "She is the type of artist who breaks away from the norms and creates her own styles. She refused to follow Abstract Expressionism and Conceptual Art techniques that were usual at that time."

I can see some of my classmates giggling on the side, "She is actually the first octogenarian who painted herself nude."

"Seems to me that she really is your favorite." Our professor starts. "But I would consider your answer if she was in the book. Keep your head together Ms. Foster we're studying about female renaissance painters!" The people in the room started laughing loudly and I just rolled my eyes at them.

I was obliged not to hold my phone for two hours because our professor said so. Attempting not to fall asleep in class, I managed to listen to him without smacking my head on my own desk.

After Women In Art, I went to my last class for the morning which is Aesthetics. It went great for me since our professor is quite old already and she doesn't give much attention to her students' doings.

Gosh, I really hate this place.

During lunch, I fall in line for those who are ordering food in the cafeteria but two blondies are brave enough to overtake. Sighing, I let it go and waited for me to get served.

In the end, I got an apple, rice, ham sandwich, and some sort of pho noodles. I looked around for a seat and saw an empty table at the far end.

I quickly walked my way there and just when I was about to sit down, some guy got it first.

Damn it, where am I going to eat?

I turned around and was ready to find some other place when I heard the guy spoke. "You can sit with me," Said the hooded guy. I keep tilting my head to the side to see his face but he is good at hiding it.

"No, thanks." I declined. What if he doesn't want to be seen because he is some sort of school serial killer? I wouldn't risk it.

"Are you sure? This table is big enough for only one person," He persuades.

"I appreciate the offer but no, thanks." I turned my heel and was ready to walk out when he suddenly grabbed my arm, almost causing me to drop my tray of foods. "What is wrong with you?!" I shrieked.

"Woah, hey. Deonne, it's me." He removes his hoodie and to my shock, I wanted to literally drop my foods on the floor.

Jungkook?

"What are you doing here?" I nervously laughed. He gestured for me to place my food on the table and sit.

"It's lunch break, I need to eat." He says while holding his utensils. I looked around and most girls are starting to stare at our table.

They're staring at the far end table which is probably unnoticeable, yet because of Jungkook, they all have their eyes on our direction.

"Wait, you study here?!" I whisper-yelled.

"Why, what's wrong?" He scowled after munching meat.

"No, no. I'm actually happy that you're here," I giggled, my hands are shaking underneath the table. "But why here? I mean, don't you want to be with Hoseok and the rest of the guys?"

"I told you, Deonne," He grinned.

"Told me what?"

"That we're never going to stop seeing each other."
