Lorraine's POV

"You murderer! You killed my parents!" screamed their nine year old daughter. "My mom and dad! Why did you do it?!" I stood there in guilt, with a bottle of rat poison in my right hand, at Jill's Diner. Every customer's eyes were glued upon me.

"Calm down, girl," I said, trying not to attract the attention of my boss. "I had no idea it was rat poison. I thought it was mustard. I just wanted to make sure to give them some mustard on their burgers."

"What is going on here?!" demanded my boss, Harold.

"She killed my parents with that rat poison!" barked the nine year old girl, her ocean blue girls, leaking tears.

"Is this true?"

"Sir, just listen! I thought it was mustard! They wanted some mustard on their burgers! I had no idea it was rat poison! Believe my words!" I pleaded, hoping my boss would turn the other cheek.

"How can you be so stupid?" snapped Harold. "You're fired!"

"You can't fire me! I been working here for seven years!" I protested.

"I'm the boss, and I have the authority to fire anyone I want! Make no mistake, Bison! You will face a judge! I'm calling the cops!" Harold got on the phone, and called the Stardust Police Department.

Sweat trickled down my face. Not only did I get fired, but now my ex boss was calling the law on me. At the last minute, I ran out of the diner, and quickly caught the bus home.

As soon as I got home, I felt safe that I left my job, before the cops showed up. Not like I had a motive for murdering that girl's parents. I munched on some Cheetos, while I watched the news.

"This is WBTD 9, Stardust's Most Trusted News!" the announcer said.

"Good Saturday evening, I am Sarah Jasco, and there is breaking news out of Stardust! There has been a murder at the Stardust Diner, as a waitress has been fired for the incident. Her name is Lorraine Bison, and there is now a police search ongoing. The people murdered are identified to be Robert, and Margaret Anderson, parents of nine year old daughter, Cassandra Anderson. The cops have arrived shortly after the fugitive fled the murder scene. The Stardust Diner will be closed till further notice! Stay with WBTD 9 for further developments! And, now we go to Chief Meteorologist Joseph Heckler!"

A lump formed in my throat. My ex boss sold me out. In a state of panic, my heart began to race. Which led me to one possible solution.

Get out of Stardust, maybe even the whole state.
