Im waking up

"Ugh my head.." Scott groaned and looked around. Snow everywhere, they seemed to be in a clearing surrounded by trees.

"He's awake!" Something ran over to him, helping him up.

"What? What happened?!" Scott stood up briefly before falling back down.

"Yeah we're wolves now," a black one spoke, Virgil. Scott sighed, and rolled back onto his stomach and pushed himself up.

"Easy," Virgil helped him stand, even now he seemed to have already mastered running.

"If I can't stand, what hope do I have in walking, let alone running?" Virgil sat down a little from him and shook his head.

"Go on, you can't hurt yourself on snow, unless your Gordon.."

"Come on," Scott would've been blushing if he wasn't a wolf, Virgil was going to treat him like a kid again. "If you can walk to me now you can walk anywhere, just put one fo- paw, infront of the other,"

Scott shook his head, listening to what Virgil said, trying not to trip over his own legs as he walked. "Well done, your doing better than John already,"

"Really? Where is John?"

"Being tormented by Gordon and Alan over there," Scott paused looked over to where he gestured to, seeing a light tan wolf and a white one jump around.

"Awh poor John," Scott sighed, Virgil let out a bark that startled him.

"Walk god dammit," Scott shook his head and tried again to walked over to him, tripping over his legs and falling again.

"This might take a while," Virgil grumbled pulling him back gently to where he started by the back of his neck then went back to where he sat.

This repeated until Scott was able to walk fine to and from Virgil. "Okay now your making me feel stupid,"

"Kinda are, they're running and jumping all over the place and here we are getting you to stand up," Virgil sighed, Scott groaned and sat down.

"Come on," Virgil called him and walked off to where John was being tormented by the two, Scott following behind.

"Gravity being a bitch?" John merely nodded as the two jumped over him, Virgil sat and watched in amusement, barking and startling the two that hadn't noticed their arrival.

"Leave him alone, torment him instead," Virgil seemingly grinned, watching the two's tails wag as they launched themselves at their oldest brother, hearing a surprised Yelp from him.

"Come on," Virgil pushed his snout under Johns back, trying to encourage him to get up.

John didn't budge and looked at him. "Nah," Virgil growled and pushed him up again. "Come on,"

John huffed and with Virgil's help stood up, "there we go," Virgil helped him steady himself, as every now and again his legs seemed to want to give in on him.

"Come on, one in front of the other," Virgil stuck next to his side as he helped him walk.

"Hey, your okay," Virgil reassured his younger brother, licking snow off the side of his face.

Virgil helped him walk until he was able to on his own. Alan and Gordon running And jumping around Scott who didn't seem amused.

"I'm hungry," Alan yawned. oh boy was this gonna be different.

"come on," Virgil had to get them to get used to.. well, they're wolves now..

"It won't be that bad, you like anything rare," Virgil teases, sitting down and watching havoc take over them.

"Oo rabbit," Scott stopped as he saw the rabbit, looking straight at them, the other three stopped and watched Virgil stalk it as it's attention was off him.

Alan licked his lips as his tail wagged slightly, it's attention fully on the four, Virgil caught it and brought it over to them.

"Your hungry? Here," he dropped the limp body in front of him, noticing John and Scott eyeing it.

"No." Virgil growled, Scott and Johns gaze turned to something else.

Sure Scott might be the oldest, but not the strongest. Or quickest here anymore. Virgil had those titles.

Virgil sat and watched the two, seeing them eyeing up another rabbit. "It can see you, it's going to run,"

John stuck low to the ground inching closer slowly, Virgil watched him intently, going from not being able to stand to knowing how to skilfully hunt.

Scott saw and copied, the rabbit lost sight of them and became panicked, John made his move and sprung at the small mammal, it ran off before he could catch it.

Scott saw an opportunity and took it, surprising the animal and catching it successfully. Virgil watched the two stare eachother down, both wanting it.

Virgil smirked and walked over, snatching it from Scott's grasp and walking back to where Gordon and Alan sat, dropping it in front of Gordon.

"There's plenty more for you lot, besides, you can practice hunting," Scott glared at him and walked off looking for another with John following.

Around an hour later they came back with two each, Virgil looked at them as the walked past with their small "trophies".

"See?" Scott rolled his eyes and dropped them, Virgil shook his head and went off somewhere.

"Where are you going?"

The fours attention remained on Virgil who never answered their question.

"He was the first up, said dad was here but we never saw him," Alan huffed and turned to Gordon, who subconsciously pulled the remaining parts of the rabbit closer to him.

"I don't want it," He stretched and laid down. Virgil had left their sight, blending in with the shadows of the forest that surrounded them.

John stopped eating, hearing something from the forest near them. Deciding it was nothing he went back to the rabbit.

Virgil shook his head and crept closer, they'd have to learn to protect themselves from other packs if they were going to remain like this.

John stopped entirely this time and stood up, sniffing the air. Virgil pushed himself against the floor as much as he could, hoping he didn't see him.

John saw something move faintly, curiosity got the better off him, slowly moving closer, almost circling him.

Virgil stayed as still as he could, as the others took notice of johns cautious behaviour.

Alan made the first move, blending with the snow and crept up on him. Virgil grinned, sure he didn't plan this, but this made them all practice hunting.

Gordon followed, sticking close to the floor making Virgil loose sight on him too. But he could still hear them, not so much Scott and John.

Virgil listened to where they were, Alan creeping closer faster than Gordon was. Scott blended in with the bark of the trees, he watched him run towards them.

Virgil made his move and jumped at Alan, playfully pinning him down. Alan panicked and shook him off, trying to pin him down, sending them both tumbling in a ball.

John sat down and shook his head as he watched in amusement, Scott sat next to him too. Gordon's tail wagged, running after them, wanting to join in.

"Maybe next time spacepup," Virgil grinned and got up off of the smaller male, Alan rolled onto his front and stood up and chased after him.

Gordon jumped onto Virgil with Alan following, Virgil grinned and spun around holding one down with another on his back.

Scott heard John lay down, an idea popped into his head. He laid down ontop of him, John rolled over, making him lay on the floor.

Scott huffed and laid on him again, John growled playfully and knocked him off. The two growled at eachother playfully, ending up tumbling over themselves.

Scott pinned him down, both panting. They remembered the last time they played together was when they were kids, before their mother died..

"When was the last time we played like that?" Scott grinned, John smiled and licked the side of his furry face.

"When we were kids," Scott nuzzled his face, moving off of him and laid down next to him.

"Hmm... I miss- pfft that's where dad went.. anyway, I was gonna say I miss that," Scott spoke, their attention turned to a grey wolf dragging something, might have been a deer.

Virgil stood up and licked his lips, his tail drooped and wagged as he saw it. "All of a sudden I'm hungry again." John yawned and stood up.

"Me too," Scott followed him.

"What two rabbits didn't suffice?" Virgil teased, Jeff raised a brow, kinda.. well he would of if he wasn't a wolf.

A howl came from somewhere in the woods near them, "ha probably realised their meals gone," Jeff snickered, a flash of worry came across Virgil's face.

"Just because we can't see it doesn't mean they can't smell it.." he mumbled to himself, seeing that their father had covered the tracks, John watched intently as Virgil sniffed at where it would have been, watching Jeff come up next to him and Scott sneak over the the deer.

John followed and pulled him back, "don't.." Virgil's ears pricked up, freezing in his spot and sniffed the air. "You two go, hide."

"Now." Virgil growled and ushered Alan and Gordon off, growls erupted from the forest followed by the light reflecting off eyes.

Alan and Gordon ran for the tall white grass and stayed low, blending in instantly from their light colours. John and Scott backed up, their darker colour fur making them highly visible.

A black coloured wolf walked from the forest first, snarling at them. Virgil growled and stayed put, only until everyone else hid.

"Come on, to the forest over there," Jeff gestured to where they should go. The two nodded and ran as fast as their legs would take them.

"Don't lose them!" Someone's voice echoed from the forest. The hood. Scott made it to the forest edge first, waiting for John momentarily before helping him hide, climbing into the roots of a tree and blending in himself.

Jeff pulled Virgil back by his tail, gaining his attention instantly. "Go. Hide." The two ran, Jeff to the tall grass where the youngest two hid, blending in himself while Virgil to the forest, having to run past both John and Scott after noticing the mechanic was chasing him.

Soon it had gotten fairly dark, letting Virgil blend in anywhere. "I may not see you, but I can smell you.." he growled, Virgil stayed low to the ground, waiting until he gave up or the perfect time to strike and run.

He watched him sniff around, coming dangerously close to where he was. Virgil snarled and ran from his spot, pining him down out of surprise by his neck.

A small fight began between the two, Virgil winning by far. The mechanic gave up and ran off, Virgil smirked and headed back to the clearing and to find everyone else.

"Hey, it's okay, he's gone," he nuzzled John, reassuring him it was safe to come out. Scott crawled out from his spot from the roots.

"I'm okay," Virgil smiled and led them both out and back to where the others were.

"I'm sorry," Jeff sighed running over to him and nuzzled into him, Virgil nuzzled into his neck.

"It's okay," he spoke softly, Scott and John attacked by Alan and Gordon, who laid down under John's chin and over Scott's back, nuzzling into his face.

"Gordo, we're okay, he didn't notice us."
