From ash

Virgil awoke in the middle of the night, hearing something running about. He looked around with a yawn, noticing his father was missing.

He got up quietly, careful not to disturb John who had been curled up next to him.

He followed the source of the noise down to the near lake, mostly frozen over from the cold.

He watched in surprise as he saw his father running around with another wolf, both playing quietly in the snow.

Virgil smiled softly even though he knew who it was. After finding out that the hood could take full control of him he forgave him for what he was forced against his will to do.

The mechanic was almost the completely opposite of his father, but they formed a bond that seemed pretty unbreakable, even if Virgil and brains were the only ones who knew about their relationship.

Ayan, or the mechanic, could still be controlled by the hood, but from what he saw, the hood was probably asleep.

Virgil laid down and stretched, watching the two happily roll around, playfully pinning eachother here and there, chasing eachother around... Virgil felt happy for the two.

He hadn't realised he fell asleep until he felt his father push his well muzzle into his neck gently to wake him up.

"Morning already?" He yawned while stretching, Jeff shook his head and licked some snow off of the top of his head.

"No, we need to go back to the others before they wake up and realise we're gone," he replied, helping his son steady himself from how tired he was.

"Mkay.." Virgil almost fell asleep again while walking back, going face first into the snow had woken him up.

His father laughed quietly in amusement, stopping so Virgil could properly situate himself on his fathers back.

"When was the last time I had to carry you to bed?" Jeff was mostly speaking to himself though, he knew Virgil had fallen asleep.

He stopped next to John and let him slide off softly, smiling to himself as he watched John sleepily cuddle up to him.

~~~~~~
When he awoke again John was practically ontop of him, still fast asleep even if the sun had risen.
He yawned and slid from underneath him, easier said than done of course, but did manage in the end.
He stretched and looked around, noticing Alan munching away on another rabbit. "You aren't hungry?" Al asked.
"I am come to think of it, just too tired to do anything about it right now,"
"John fell asleep waiting for you to wake up, wanted to wait and hunt with you instead," he spoke, licking his lips when he was done.
Virgil was yet to take in any of their appearances yet, Alan almost looked like he was made from snow from how white his fur was, well except his front paws and muzzle but that'd come off.
One ear almost always seemed to be bent and he just looked even cuter when he tilted his head. Virgil laughed to himself when he did so because he was staring.
"What? Is it all up my face?" Virgil shook his head and sat in front of the would be blonde and tried lick his face clean. "Ew hell even I wouldn't like to admit it but this is usually johns job!" Alan complained trying to wiggle away.
"Come here, johns asleep and you'll be easily spotted," Virgil grinned, sitting on his youngest brother.
"Fine as Long as That means you get off!" Alan did as he said, sitting still and let himself be cleaned.
"Honestly I feel like a cat, not a wolf."
"No you're to flexible for a wolf, perhaps that why,"
"Like a big cat!" Alan grinned playfully, tail wagging behind him.
"Ah no." Virgil snorted, Alan rolled his eyes.
"So like what?"
"Mm... British shorthair maybe.. "
"No Virgil that's you,"
"Mm that's a fair point,"
"So?"
"So..?" Virgil asked, he knew what Alan meant of course, but even the peacemaker of them needs to have their own fun teasing his siblings every now and again.
"You're such a pain in the ass!"
"You should be happy we don't have soap," Virgil warned, Alan rolled his eyes again.
"Mhm definitely,"
"I'm hungry go bother someone else," Virgil yawned, gently nuzzling John to wake him up.
