Fire Vs. Wind
Storm has grown in a young strong wolf. And has grown feelings for Spring. He already had an idea of how to get her attention. Over time that he has grown, he knew she had feelings for Flame. Of course since Flame wasn't an open book, it was not possible to read his thoughts or emotions. And as always they were doing their morning routine, and in the meantime, he was planning something out. Flame leading the way, the two girls in the middle and Storm in the back. Flame said it was for the girl's security.
Storm's POV:
So this plan should work. I start flirting with Starfish, then Spring becomes jealous and she starts flirting with me! This is going to go easy and thorough. Just like breeze. Hopefully gramps over there doesn't mind.
I mean come on!! He has to let loose once in a while. Such a party wreck he is. He doesn't even have interest in any of the girls. So emotionless. I let my head hang until Flame calls my attention.
"Storm, straighten up please or you'll become the first hunch backed wolf in history!" Does he have to yell every time? I sigh heavily and straighten up. Spring told me to never talk back, or else. Cut me a break I'm not holding back anymore.
"Cut me a break would ya?!" I saw Spring flinch a little. When she did that I began to worry. I even noticed that Flame's fur got brighter.
"What did you say!?" He burst in flames as he said this. Smoke was coming off of him, he even stopped walking to have an argument with me. The two girls flew away quickly. Starfish went in a river while Spring wrapped up herself in vines.
'So cute!'
When I turned to face Flame he was already in my face. I flew up and hid in a nearby tree.
"Get back here boy! Now!" I never herd a lot of anger in his voice. It was clear he was disappointed in me. I flew down in front of him letting my ears droop. Ready for the long lesson he was going to give me. I was to scared to even look at him in the eyes.
"Haven't I told you to look at someone in the eyes when are talking to you?" His voice was as stern as ever. I looked up at him slowly. I was trembling so badly I thought my brain would be rattling out of me already. When I finally met his eyes they were frightening. They were both cold and soulless. I stopped breathing afraid that he would take it away.
"Seems like I have to show you manners that you shouldn't talk back to the one who saved your life and the one who raised you. It is of up most disrespect to talk back to the one who has been there for you your whole life. Do you understand?" I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. "I asked you something and you should." His flames got bigger and his eyes brighter.
"Y-yes I understand." I responded trying not to faint.
"Good" is all he said. His fire lowered back to normal and so did his eyes. I gasped for air falling to the ground. Spring came out of her hiding place and walked up to me. I felt my face heat up.
"I told you not to talk back to him. And you still didn't listen. What an immature." She whispered in my, but when she said 'immature' it broke my hope a little knowing that I didn't have chance with her. But my plan has to work!
Flame's POV:
Starfish flew out of the water and landed next to me. Her fur was completely dry. It surprises me every time even though she does it every time. She's wonderful, I just don't know how to flirt. What's wrong with me?
"Flame you alright?" I herd Starfish asked me as I was looking at the other two.
"Yes I'm fine. This kid is just too free spirited. He might end up hurting himself some day." I replied sitting by the tree. Starfish seemed surprised that we already arrived. "Surprised why we got here earlier than before? I took a short cut through the woods. We'll be going the long way when we go back home."
That's when Spring mentioned that Storm's home was done for him. She had started since the day he was born. And during those days he had to live with me, near where I lived. When he learned how to fly, he was surprisingly a strong flyer since he was a pup. He flew higher than Starfish could up in the sky, and flew against the strong currents of the wind.
"I forgot to tell you, Flame, that I finished Storm's home yesterday last night!" She announced as she sat across from me. Storm came flying up and landed in front of Starfish.
"Thanks for telling me. Is it high enough for him to fly up there?"
"Yes it is." Spring replied. I smiled at the fact that I was finally going to get rid of this pesky flyer.
"Alright! About time you finished my place!" With that he went flying at top speed upwards. Yes he is also a fast flyer when. Who could blame him. Always in a hurry.
Storm's POV:
As I was speeding up to the top of the mountain, I remembered that Starfish could possibly join me. But she can't fly high up, and Spring she can barely fly up a few feet off the ground, which is cute. I felt my face heat up at the thought of her, her and her beautiful pink wings glimmering in the morning sunlight. I soon reached the top of the mountain, but I didn't notice and I flew past the mountain top. I didn't notice until I was getting out of breath.
I stopped flapping my wings and I went rocketing towards the ground. I loved how the wind felt going through my fur. I as soon as I was reaching the ground I opened my wings trying to stop myself from crash landing.
'I just hope I don't land on someone!'
Just as I thought this I crash landed on Starfish.
"Starfish you alright!?" I heard Flame shout out to her. I felt branches of a tree wrap around me. I saw Spring controlling them, she wrapped the around my body and wings. I was guessing she did this just so I wouldn't fly away. Darn.
3rd POV:
Flame ran up to Starfish and checked her wings. He grew angry when he found out that Storm had broken her wing. Starfish seemed to be unconscious for the moment. Storm tried wiggling himself out of the branches but it was no use.
'Gramps is going to kill me right after this!'
Flames walked up to Storm with a cold expression.
"Do you realize what you just did. Because of you, Starfish won't be able to swim or fly. You imbecile!"
"Who are you calling an imbecile, flame brain!" Storm responded not caring about the consequence. But before things got worse, Spring jumped in the middle of the argument.
"Flame, please stop! I don't want any one else getting hurt anymore! Just go easy on him for once!"
"Well then, fine. But I'm warning I won't go easy on him next time. And Storm give the ladies their personal space, would ya?"
With that Flame goes to check on Starfish, who was already coming to, while Spring let's Storm fall to the ground. Storm let's out a grunt in pain and looks at Spring. Only to have Spring giving him a murderous glare.
"I told you not to upset him! You owe me one!"
"Well sorry. I was trying to get my game on."
"Just so you could get Starfish's attention?! That is really stupid of you!" With that Spring turns her back down on him and joins Flame.
"Spring wrap your vines around Starfish's left wing. Its broken badly."
Spring bids her head and does as she was told. Flame brought Starfish some water so she could drink some. Storm feeling guilty tried getting closer to her, only to have Flame growl at him. He pulled his ears back and stayed back whining.
Storm's POV:
Great first attempt of flirting with her and I ruin it. But why is Flame being so caring of her? Maybe he likes her. There's only one way to find out. Which means I'll have to step up my game. Oh and act overprotective about Starfish.
Starfish's POV:
I finally came to with Flame standing in front of me, and Spring wrapping vines around my left wing. I saw a bowl filled with water. I drank from it and layed my head back down.
"How are you feeling?" I was surprised by Flame's kind words. He would usually say 'get up and deal with it' but now this.
"I'm feeling great. Thanks for asking." I replied to his question and he nods. What's up with being so kind towards me?
~Months Later~
Starfish's wing was all cured and ready to go. She soon began flying after some time. And of course Storm tarted flirting with her every chance he got. Flame already had enough of this and so he pulled him by the tail harshly one day. He slammed him in a nearby tree and let go of his tail. Starfish stood there surprised about what just happened. Spring pulled Starfish behind some bushes and wrapped herself and Starfish in vines. Leaving a hole for them to peek through.
"Didn't I tell you to stay away from her!!?"
"Maybe I didn't hear you well enough that day!!"
The two males snarl at each other baring their fangs. They start circling closing in on the space between them. Once Flame was close enough to him he breathed fire towards Storm. Luckily Storm was quick enough to dodge his attack. A huge explosion occurred right after. The smoke cleared out and Storm was no where to be found.
"What! Where the hell is he?!" Flames exclaims as he looks for him up in the sky. That is when Storm comes competing down on him. Flame breathes fire upwards taking a hit. Storm falls flat to the ground in front of him.
"Come on! Get up and fight me, you fool!" Flame says this growling angrily at him. Storm quickly recovers plunging towards Flame's throat. He only manages to get a hold of Flame's thick mane.
Flame looks at him, laughing menacingly. His eyes were brighter than ever, so was his fur.
"Do you really think you'll defeat me!?" He gets a hold of Storm's neck from the back, and he tosses him to the ground. "How pathetic child. You're not even half my age and your already calling for dominance."
Storm speaks up coughing due to the dust flying around. He stands up not loosing his pride. "Who said you were the leader? Don't you think someone like me should be in the lead?"
"Someone who acts like a child should never be in the lead. Me on the other hand, I'm much wiser of my actions and thoughts unlike you!" He charges towards Storm and he does the same as well. Storm flaps his wings making a wave of wind, which turned off Flame's fur.
Flakes of coal could be seen falling off of his fur. Flame is angered by this and quickly regenerates fire. Storm is taken back by this as he takes another hit across his face, Flame clawing him right across the cheek.
The two girls were watching them from a safe distance. When Starfish finally spoke up tired of this nonsense.
"We should separate them."
"Yhea, we should." Spring simply replied.
The males were already biting each others neck and legs. And anywhere else they were able to get access to. Just as they were about to rip out each other's throats out, Spring wrapped them up in a ball of vines.
"Nice job Spring! Let's go talk to the boys."
"Thanks!" They smiled at each other and walked up the two balls of vines. Spring made a small slit for the boys to be able to see.
Smoke came out of Flame's sphere, as for Storms a strong wind was coming from it. Spring sealed them shut and turned to Starfish. Starfish looked back at her and nodded. Spring flew on over Storm's sphere and hovered over it, Starfish doing the same over at Flame's sphere. Spring opened the spheres from the top. Starfish created a raincloud heavy with water and let it pour. Spring wrapped vines around Storm's body, along with his wings. From inside the sphere. These actions immediately stopped the raging wind and fire.
Complaints could be herd from both males. Spring undid the two spheres letting the two males go. The rain clod still over Flame's head and the vines still wrapped around Storm's body. The two males were still growing at each other.
Starfish spoke up, some anger showing, unintentionally.
"You two should learn how to get along! The cloud and vines will disappear right after you forgive each other!"
"NEVER!!" Responded the two males snarling. They charged at each other, biting and clawing.
Flame manages to tackle Storm to the ground. Storm turns on his side and Flame pounces on him.
"Get off me flame brain!!"
"Not until you surrender!!"
"Never!"
Flames grabs a hold of his throat, threatening to kill him. Storm stops struggling and decides to surrender. Knowing that Flame won't back down.
"Fine I surrender. I see that Starfish isn't the female for me." Flame growls in disapproval and let's go of his throat. He goes up to his ear and whispers.
"Look kid I know its almost mating season. But please take control of yourself. You have to wait for the female to accept you. And by the way, Starfish is mine."
"Yes sir." Storm replies as Flame gets off him. Storm gets up and notices that the vines around him aren't there anymore. He spreads his wings and flies up to the top of the mountain. As for Flame the cloud had disappeared, he turned on his fur enjoying the warmth of his fire.
Starfish went up to his side and asked him.
"What was that all about, Flame?" Flame looks at her and chuckles slightly. He gets closer to her ear whispering.
"Just some male show off." Her breath hitches in her throat. Knowing to what he was referring to. Flame slightly licks the side of her ear, causing the fur on her back to stand on end.
With that he goes back to his home. Spring goes up to her with a questioning look. Starfish notices and nudges her head with her nose. They go lay down across from each other and Starfish speaks up.
"Spring I have to tell you something. Mating season is coming up." Spring looks at her in disbelief, but notices that she is being dead serious.
