'Home schooled? No way Katie, I refuse to jeopardise your education that way' Sam immediately protested.

'Hear me out Sam okay? I went to see my head of year today because I feel like the school is holding me back compared to boarding school. So we came up with two alternative options which allow me a better education than what I'm currently receiving'

I handed him all of the details to look through and Emily joined him. I was thankful that she could be a more neutral voice of opinion. Paul held me close and played with my hair quietly as we waited for Sams decision.

'Option two is your preferred option here?' Emily asked me.

'Yeah, it makes the most sense. I'll be able to fit more in to a day and I'll be home all day so you'll know where I am and won't have to worry about bloodsuckers coming after me or anything' I replied.

'I don't want you to get a weekend job though Katie' Sam told me.

'Wait, does that mean you're agreeing?' I asked excitedly.

'Yes, I suppose. Bu you have to prove it's going to work Katie'

'Yay! Thanks Sam. So I know you don't want me to have a job but I'll have to do something to get out the house Sam or I'll go insane'

'We can always think about getting you some sort of job later if needed. Or you can join Em when she visits the elders'

We sat for a few hours to go over all the details - Sam wanted to make sure that I had left nothing out at all in my plan. I was happy that Sam was actually treating me like an adult instead of just his little sister. He made me dial down the amount of subjects I had chosen to do each day so it was spread out more and over the weekend - he was worried that I might be overstretching myself.

'Sam, I appreciate you listening to me on this and actually considering it instead of dismissing it' I told him when Emily went to go and make our dinner.

'I just need you to take this seriously Katie. I'm giving you a chance here since you came to me as an adult. You just got to prove to me that you mean it' he said seriously.

'I know Sammy, that's why I am doing this. I want a good education and other than going back to Boarding school which I really don't want to do - this is the next best option'

'It'll be nice if one of us finishes high school I suppose' he chuckled.

'Well I can always help out any of the younger ones who turn if the bloodsuckers stay around. At least then they may have a chance at some normalcy as well' I offered.

'Hopefully it won't come to that Katie but I appreciate it'

'So when can I start home schooling?' I asked Sam excitedly.

'Next week. I'll ring your school first thing in the morning, see what forms I need to fill out and stuff. See if there is any way to get it fast tracked so you don't have to stay there longer than needed'
