Ch 17
Chat landed in front of me as soon I left the building.
“Chat?-”
“Please tell me you're going fabric shopping today! I’ve been waiting since the last time and I’m really excited.”
“Yes? Have you been stalking me?” I took a small step back. He seemed to realize what this might have seemed like.
“No, sorry, it’s just been on my mind all day.” he apologised, the rest of the school started poring through the doors, looking in awe at Chat Noir in front of our school.
“Okay, well I’d love for you to accompany me fabric shopping, shall we go?” I grin, starting on my way to the shop. Chat ran up to me so we could walk together.
“So how was your day purrincess?”
“It was amazing!” I lit up.
“Really? How so?”
“Well, I can’t really say other than it’s just one of those days, you know?”
“Well I’m glad!” He smiled, holding open the door for me. The bell rang when he opened the door and he slipped in behind me.
“So, what do we need?” he asked, watching as I flipped open my book.
“This is the first dress.” I pointed to Alyas design. He nodded and we walked around, feeling the fabric.
“Oh! What about this one?” I walked over.
“Yeah, this looks like a good one for her dress.” I examined the fabric. “Should I just give you my book and money next time? You seem to be having much more fun in the store than I usually do.” I laughed.
“But, it wouldn’t be fun if I didn’t go with you.” He didn’t seem like he was joking this time, he actually sounded sincere about that.
“O-oh.” I averted my eyes, shuffling my feet as heat rose to my cheeks.
“Well, you are making the trips more enjoyable now too.” I looked him in the eyes and started in awe.
“What?” He asked. I snapped out of it hurrying along the rows.
“Sorry, I just never realized how green your eyes are.” I started looking through the different colours and textures. “N-now I need an, um, pink satin.” I looked around the rows and Chat followed.
“So, what were you doing outside my school? Did yours let out early?” I changed the topic.
“Maybe I just wanted to stand out there and look awesome.”
I chuckled a bit. “Yeah, sure.”
“You don’t believe me?”
“Nope, and I refuse to believe you just came because of fabric shopping, and by the way, that’s a really odd reason to meet with anyone.”
“Geez, I thought you liked fabric shopping with me.”
“Yeah, I do, but it’s not something most people jump at the chance to do, it’s just looking at colours and then finding the texture or pattern you want. It’s a small step in a long process.”
“Understandable, but no, I did really want to come shopping with you.” I shrugged.
“Okay then.” I went back to the fabrics. “Oh, this is a nice one.” I said taking it off the shelf with Chat’s help.
We browsed through the rows until I had gathered the fabric I needed. They cut and I paid. I was almost out of money by now but the good news at least is that I won't be needing money any more by the end of this year. That was pretty much the only up side.
“Here, let me get this.” Chat reached over and took a few of the bags I was carrying.
‘Um, it’s okay, their light.”
“Yeah, but there's a lot so I figured I could help so it would be less bulky.”
“Oh, well, thanks then.” I grinned. We made our way down the street casually. I started to notice eyes on us from others around us, I hid myself closer to Chat when phones started being wiped out to capture the scene.
“Hm?” Chat looked at me curiously before noticing the others. I backed away, hiding my face in my hands when he started posing for photos. Why is he like this? At least give me back my fabric so I don’t have to deal with the crowd longer. I looked through the crowd, my eyes landing on the man. He was probably just curious about what was happening but it was unnerving to watch him look over at me slowly.
My eyes shot back to Chat having a blast in the middle of the circle, I tried to channel my worry his way, trying to get his attention with no luck. I pushed my way out of the crowd and made the rest of the way home, Chat will catch up when he can.
I got to work right away on Julickas dress because hers was one of the few fabrics I had everything I needed for. Not long after I had just started pinning up the fabric a sharp knock came at my trap door.
I paused for a moment before making my way to the door when a second set of knocks came. I opened the door right as Chat was about to knock for a third time.
“GAH!” He jumped back startled.
“Can I help you?” I asked.
“I thought the man had kidnapped you so I decided to try here first incase I was wrong and I’m so glad that for the first time I really was wrong.” I opened my mouth to make a snide comment but decided against it.
“Well, did you remember my fabric?” the colour drained from his face.
“Ow-one moment.” He chuckled nervously before disappearing. I leaned against the frame of the trap door, sighing.
I was shivering slightly when Chat returned with my bags of fabric.
“Sorry I forgot.” he apologized before noticing me quaking from the cold “You, you didn’t need to wait outside for me.”
“No, it’s fine, I’m only a little chilly.” I waved it off. Why was I so cold as a human, when I had T, I only felt a slight chill but I’d been fine as long as I didn’t stay out all night. “Come on in.” I waved him down and he closed the door behind him.
“Are you sure?” he asked, wrapping a blanket around my shoulders.
“Yep!” I cheerfully grinned, not wanting to be totally honest.
“Oh, alright then? Is there anything I could do to help out?” I shook my head for a moment before pausing and thinking.
“Keep me company?” I asked. “I plan to be up all night so I understand if you say no, but-”
“Yeah, of course I’ll stay!” He took a seat on my chair as I settled back into the rhythm of putting the outfits together. “Soo, why do you want to stay up?”
“I want to get these outfits done as soon as I can, I don’t want to put them off.”
He nodded and we started making small talk as I moved from outfit to outfit, chat helping by being some extra hands to hold things for me.
I was on the last dress, Alyas. I’d say I’m a good seamstress and fairly fast but it was quicker and nicer when I didn’t constantly need Tikkis help. I was on the last step, I needed to stay focused, sadly I didn’t notice the time. It was morning finally even though it was still dark out. The day had come and gone and my time as a human had come to an end. I felt a surge of pain as T returned with all my wolf senses. I felt a major headache fall over me, sounds from the city blasting in my ear making me feel like I was about to shatter. All the colour dimmed and I heard Chat repeating my name in panic.
My senses overloaded and my body’s only reasonable response was to shut down. My vision faded as I blacked out.
